I was a big Braves fan back then, but it was really nice that Piazza won the game with a late-inning HR that night. One thing that happened less than two months after 9/11 that made me realize once and for all that there are no meant-to-be's or "teams of destiny" in sports is when the Yankees lost game 7 of the 2001 World Series. They trailed late in the game, took the lead on a home run, and led by a run going into the bottom of the 9th. The best closer of all time was on the mound for them. But they gave up two runs in the 9th to lose a heartbreaker. If that can happen just weeks after 9/11 -- a New York team losing in such a heartbreaking way -- you'll never get me to believe in destiny or meant-to-be's.
Ugh losing hope for sports every single week it seems. If Motorsports Series like IndyCar, NASCAR and F1 don't come back in May then all Sports will try to return in June but stay at home orders keep being extended so All sports except for the MLB and MLS might not even get to finish their season..
@MrBrenman21 The moonlanding might have happened, but the video they showed us of the moonlanding is 100% fake unless you're a moron. Wires hanging down on set?
As a lifelong Mets fan, Chipper was and still is one of my all time favorites. Class act HOFer

Noone cares
@MrBrenman21 Nobody cares given that 9/11 was clearly an inside job used to execute immoral US foreign policy. Dolt.
