Personally, I prefer dragon when it’s paired with another concept on the opposite side - dragon/ lion, dragon/ snag, dragon/ flood, dragon/ Hank & dragon/ Winston. I love how you taught the dragon portion of this concept tho.
I completely understand. I always wondered why a team would have a mirrored concept on both sides of the field. Made no sense to me. Why not run dragon/lion to have more options against different coverages. But I've slowly come to see where having mirrored concepts have their place.
So interesting thing about the slant on this play. It’s not universally ran the same by every receiver. Receivers have signature ways to run the route and the effectiveness of this play is based on how well they run it. High awareness and short route running allows the receiver to add a stutter step and give time for the flat to mesh well. Poor route runners will curve the route and speed through it. Throwing the timing off.

Is anyone using the Run Balanced Playbook in CFM and what scheme are you using? Most of these formations can be found in the CLE Stefanski book which is a WC Zone. I like the multiple schemes but I don't like the archetypes with my roster.
I haven’t had a chance to lab this formation yet. I have seen the plays in the formation and it seems to have a bunch of unique routes. Does it allow you to motion a receiver onto the end of the OL as an extra blocker?
Xando, Madden removed the ability to see “pre-snap WR/CB matchups” so do you have a method for identifying matchups? Or do we just need to know our opponents jersey numbers?
Once you get a better feel for passing concepts and pass protection, you will naturally get better at climbing the pocket . . . or drifting away from the free rusher. Part of having a feel for the pocket is really about timing and rhythm. Anticipatory throws make you better in the pocket because you step in to throws before the route breaks. Etc. All in all...i'd say to learn about passing concepts and you will naturally get better at moving in the pocket.
Offensively - best Madden they've put out. Still , not anywhere close to where the game should be. But I like the progress. I'm really sick and tired of the bugs with match coverage though. I don't even run match 4 as my base anymore, and I'm a match guy.

But this goes upon your point about matchups. In this case it would require nearly perfect execution from the Qb to make the throw

Windows are so much tighter with the matchup there. Have to be perfect with the throw.

I know you aren’t asking me but in my opinion yes, but there will be a playbook that you like more because the formations and uniqueness.

Yes. We can motion the Tight End onto the end of the line. You have to click him, and motion him towards the sideline.

There really aren't any more except the screens play that I don't like. But we alleviate this problem by just shifting in singleback doubles

If the player doesn't have an icon, I treat him like an average player. I go off of icons.
By icon you mean like X-Factor? Or at least some ability?

Not in the near future because you have to set apart like 5 consecutive hours out the day to do it. Maybe I will find segments to do it.
