Please these cars got ran hars all the time around town back in the 60's and 70's! Drive em like there meant to be driven! If they blow up build another motor lol
mike mikesbbody for real. Those are purpose built for sustained high rpm racing. This one sounds like a fucking monster though! Plus she got up to top speed amazingly quickly! Incredible
Takes me back to 76 when I got my first car. 70 rt challenger and drove it just like to ft worth from waco to see Arrowsmith and nazareth in 78. You brought back some great memories for this old man. thank you!
Joel Kalsi Not transmission ratio. This is a old school 3 speed auto transmission which it's 3rd gear is 1:1 gear. Same with all old school 3 speed auto transmissions. It would take a lot of pointless work and effort to change the gearing in this trans. Differential ratio is the way to go if the owners wanted to go faster.
after watching this video over 100 times and 2 times your movie, I want you, Pale Rider, to know how your videos can make my day. The sound. The videos. The captures. Amazing! Huge thanks to you! I want more Autobahn, full throttle videos! I am addicted. So please Pale Rider make us all happy with some updates and more Videos with your stunning car that shows the Autobahn who's the king of the road! Pleeeeeeease :D
That is just too cool. I can't even imagine what the other drivers were thinking when you passed them. Very cool showing them that you owned that highway. Maybe they will have a new found respect for American cars. Pure awesome.
You'll find a lot of American muscle cars wound up throughout Europe. They take very good care of them too. They like to put the Centerline style wheels on them over there which I think looks amazing. There's quite a few old Mopars down in Brazil also.
Thx dude, I will Already accepted that there are some people out there that can't believe the speed. So be it... Yes, with 7,7l/470 cui and appr 600HP it can do 150mph, yes it is stable at that speed, yes it handles very well in corners due to all the suspension upgrades and yes, last year I shipped it to the US to take it for my ultimate ride. Believe it or not.
I did 140mph in a 383 powered 71 ' Cuda/auto. It had mild mods (cam, intake/carb, headers) and a 3.55 rear. It ran out of gear before it ran out of motor. With the right gear, a 440/manual trans car would do 150mph without a problem.
the Dodge challenger is by far the best muscle car in the world! handles very well and the speed and acceleration is perfect! there is nothing better im glad to say ive purchased a 1973 dodge challenger and i cant wait to take it to germany!
Thx dude :-) Initially it was an easy way for me to re-live these trips to other countries (not a daily routine) by uploading it to YT. But it seems that I fulfilled a need for people that aren't satisfied wtih 'walk around' and 'burnout' videos of muscle cars. So that kept me going on. ;-)
awesome!!! i've never seen anything like this in the states! except at talladega or the texas mile! makes me want to visit germany! the soundtrack is better than any music i've ever heard, & i've been around for 62 years! reminds me of my 71 340 demon that i had when i got back from vietnam. wish i had some video of that! great stuff palerider, you rock! give us more! from one mopar nut to another.....jim...
And that's the way it's done folks, car sounds strong and goes straight. For everybody talking the talk I would love to see your video, nice job brother, Frank from Toronto Canada.
@jpgbrookes Didn't look at my tacho at these speeds, but I guess it will be a bit over 6k. Cam: Xtreme Energy™, XR274HR-10 High Performance Street (there are some engine spex in the description of the '70 Dodge Challenger gets 470 SixPack' video)
I have owned and worked on Mopars for years. My dad was ASE Master Tech for Mopar. I lived in Germany for 4 years and ran the Autobahn. This video is 110% real deal. Maybe some of you are kinder and cannot understand. Sorry for you. PaleRider carry on with your bad ass self.

Jsalrulz -too many series crashes with these beast due to poor braking...Pontiac was considering dropping the GTO in 1966 because of family deaths in these beafy monsters of speed
LOVE IT, TRUE AMERICAN MUSCLE, makes my video s-10 ride along feel like riding a hobby horse, Looks like you hit approx: 160 MPH, Love Those Mopars, Keep up the Great Videos !!!
this shit was so powerfull i watched it first on mobile btw, my hand was so relaxed of noise which this car made ... i mean i could let this video goin and use my mobile as a vibrator ...
I know that video; I think it's the most awesome Chalenger video on YT. And you're rite about these suspension upgrades. I know it's not on a racetrack chasing a Ferrari, but in my 'Schauinsland' video I had no trouble keeping up with a motorcyclist on a very curvy road.
If he had taller gearing, he could do close to 200 mph. That's a 600 hp Chrysler big block under the hood. The only real limiting factor at that point would be aerodynamics. His suspension is solid with proper springs/shocks/sway bars, and his tires are Falken FK452's, excellent grip, rated for 186 mph (300 km/h).
Great Mopar sound! I just wish he could have kept it up, got on it, and stayed there! He left off the gas too quickly if you ask me! But I did love the sound of it, what little bit there was that was flat out.
Are you sure the speedo is caliberated. Wheels, tires, gearing? Or did you put a whole new transmission in there? 150 out of that car seems a little fast unless you upgraded the shit out of it?
The car can best be tested at top speed on a closed circuit race track preferably a huge oval track. Loved the roaring of the engine. We never really got to see the max speed.
i have a question...a super car (lambo) vs a muslcar driving on the autobahn driving at 100 mph plus for a long time...whould the musclecar have a greater chance of overheating?
Man I'd be scared of cracking the block with the sustained high revs but jesus christ that sound is incredible and unmatched by modern cars!
Please these cars got ran hars all the time around town back in the 60's and 70's! Drive em like there meant to be driven! If they blow up build another motor lol
Nascar motors [same as this one] sit on high revs for hours
@@k1Stung Nascar engines [like this one] have been sitting at high revs for years (a million miles)
The motor in this Car is nothing like a Nascar motor.
mike mikesbbody for real. Those are purpose built for sustained high rpm racing. This one sounds like a fucking monster though! Plus she got up to top speed amazingly quickly! Incredible
what a fucking lovely sound
It's meant to be loud, fun and good sounding. Nothing beats the smile and the huge torque in a V8
Sounds absolutely savage
Needs one more gear.
& 308 rear end.
That is exactly what I said.
4speed car 🤗
@@fordmanx3 And probably a close ratio one at that. They are stoplight queens and I wouldn't want to push one over 140 in stock form 😂
Beast from the 70’s, true American muscle car 💪🏼
Takes me back to 76 when I got my first car. 70 rt challenger and drove it just like to ft worth from waco to see Arrowsmith and nazareth in 78. You brought back some great memories for this old man. thank you!
As a person who has driven cars at similar speeds,I say, awesome. You can feel the torque in your gut just listening and watching this...just awesome.
No overdrive or 5-speed, rear axle ratio around 3:55?
That thing must have been revving like crazy to get to 140 mph.
Very impressive.
If there was any doubt to Vanishing Point's Challenger being dubbed this quashes it!
You need a six speed in that car like yesterday.
Joel Kalsi -you right, gearing in transmissions were much different back then...I believe there was a corvette made with only 2 gears!!!!
Steven Hodge gear vendors....

My last Vanishing Point video starts with me driving pretty fast in Utah.
That car is a dream come true. Its like the villain's car in an old movie or something. And it sounds like an outlaw too.Nice!
the way she's hungry of rpm is savage!

I cannot say anything but a huge THANK YOU! for this video - this car is my 'all-time-top-1' favorite one.

Yes! My 69 Corvette C3 with arround 350hp runs 260kmh! at arround 8000rpms :) American muscle can be pretty Badass
You have lengthened the manual transmission ?
Could’ve easily have gone faster with another gear lol

150 and it still wants more. I hope you take it back for another Autobahn romp if you put a new transmission in it.

Sounds like Barry Newman in Vanishing Point!!! Now where is that DVD at?
Vielen Dank für das Vergnügen..:)
cooles Video, ganze Zeit Gänsehaut ;-)
needs two more gears... one more for top speed and one more overdrive gear for gas mileage.
not to mention give the engine a break from revving so high
Or just knock down that rear axle ratio and throw in a gear vendors overdrive. That would be the best way to go if the tranny is numbers matching
What kind of gearbox is ot? 4 speed manual?
good god this car is amazing
