    There are many, MANY bandsaw build videos out there but yours is the best for two big reasons: #1: You present the build process in a very understandable way and #2: the build quality (attention to detail and finishing) looks "professional". That makes ALL the difference to me. Thank you!

      Hey Gerry. I really appreciate the comment! I got started in woodworking making these bandsaw boxes so it was all I was focused on at the time. I kinda miss making them!

      @@parillaworks You're most welcome! I also bought all of your patterns, which will be very helpful for me. As for missing making bandsaw boxes, sometimes you just have to "go back home for a quick visit" and make a new one. :)

    Very nice job my friend! I actually bought my bandsaw to do bandsaw boxes since I fell in love with the concept upon seeing them built on youtube. That saw has since become one of the most "go to" tools in my shop. I will indeed have to try one of these. I especially like the way you "key" the entry cuts thus making the glue up much easier. Gonna' steal that one from you lol!

    Nice job, and good idea with the entry/exit cuts. I hadn't seen that one before. Let me pass on an audio tip someone passed on to me. If you don't have great audio recording gear and you've got some background hiss you can record some dead air and splice this in between when you aren't talking. It makes it a lot less noticeable since it's always there instead of cutting in and out.

    • @parillaworks

    I'm going to give band saw boxing a whirl in the next week or so. Going to splash out and buy a new band saw. Love this design. You make it look easy. In your opinion would a band saw around half horse power and a cut depth of around 120mm be fine to work with to make boxes. Thanks

    • @parillaworks
      @parillaworks  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Lisa. That’s about the size saw I started with a few years ago. I made at least 200 boxes on that saw and it did a good job. You’ll be limited by the height and throat of the saw at times but it’s nothing you can’t get by with. Good luck!

    Interesting how you did the through cuts and then sanded to get the drawer gap you want. I'll have to try that since my gaps don't look that great - very "unprofessional"! I also like the hump technique for your entry cuts - very ingenious. It looks like I just purchased the same Rikon bandsaw you have. What tooth count, type of blade (carbon steel?) and brand blade are you using. I think you said 1/4". I bought a 3/16", 10 TPI caron steel blade from a guy locally that makes them. The back of the weld wasn't perfectly flat so not sure if that's some of my issues with making nice clean consistent cuts or if it's just the fact I need more practice.

    • @parillaworks
      @parillaworks  5 лет назад

      Hey there. Thanks for the comments. Yes, I have the 10-326. I buy Timberwolf blades and generally keep a 1/4" and 1/2" on hand at all times. Lately I've been using a 3/4" for resawing material. I think the 1/4" is A 6tpi and the larger ones are 3 or 4tpi.

    • @parillaworks
      @parillaworks  6 лет назад

      Thanks Sandi. I've used danish oil many times. I think once it cures, the smell goes away. I usually keep the drawer removed for a few days to let that happen.

    • @WIReeder12
      @WIReeder12 6 лет назад

      My experience, it never goes away, more likely to get worse. I never use Tongue Oil or Danish Oil inside of any thing and I love oil finishes, if the inside needs a finish shellac is probably the best.
