Whiplash Full Episode - Mike Upton waylays Cobb's coach and kidnaps an attractive actress riding as a passenger. Cobb has to rescue her, and when they run into some angry gold miners, she is forced into the performance of her life.
Set in the 1860s, the series is a western filmed in Australia, and stars Peter Graves as "Christopher Cobb". The series is loosely based on the life of Freeman Cobb, who was the genuine founder of Australia's first stagecoach line Cobb and Co. Peter Graves, in his character of Christopher Cobb, did not carry a pistol and often used a bullwhip to settle disputes. He carried a rifle and used it on more than one occasion.
The series stands out from other television western series of its era in that the guest casts are composed of actors available in Australia, so none of the character actors so ubiquitous in American westerns, aside from Graves himself, appear at all.
Australia... in 1797 prisoners from the jails of London, mostly guilty of petty or political crimes - were deported to desolate Botany Bay. Descendants of these convicts still lived in the bush in 1840 when Christopher Cobb, an American, came to establish a stage line and lived to become a legend.

*Freeman Cobb (1830-1878) was an American, who established the Cobb and Co stagecoach company in 1853 with partners John Murray Peck, James Scanlon and John B. Lamber. The company was based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, and ran American-imported Concord coaches to and from the Victorian goldfields. Cobb returned to the United States after three and a half years but associates continued operating under the name Cobb & Company. He had introduced the use of Concord coaches to Australia and built a brand so strong the companies operated it until 1924.*
