Actually you don't have to use any app if you are not sure or don't feel like doing so. The alternative is CASH which is still accepted. Singapore has not gone totally cashless like in China.
Something pretty cool -- BlueSG, a car sharing service but with only electric vehicles. Useful if you commute daily to another location (with a BlueSG parking lot) and prefer to drive. Take note that you'll probably need to have to convert your local driver's license to a Singaporean one before you can even register for it, but in the long term this might be good, especially with the crazy cost of owning a car here :)
Most of us use PayLah to pay each other as well. It’s become a verb 😆. Very common when you’re out for a meal with friends, we will always say “I’ll PayLah! you for my coffee.” Foodpanda and Deliveroo offer restaurants close to your neighborhood and maybe that’s why it seems like the food reaches you quicker. Grab doesn’t restrict the selection to just your neighborhood. Shopping-wise, you should also check out Qoo10. It has its own delivery fleet and if you choose a local retailer you can sometimes even get next-day delivery.
Try using PayNow. It can be used with any bank. We say PayNow for my coffee. I switch from PayLah to PayNow because not everyone has a DBS/POSB bank account
Hi I’m coming to Singapore February 20-22. How do I get from the airport to my hotel? Is taxi cheap? Train? Which one is best choice? N cheaper? Please explain or tell me so I have an idea

@@applet2873 o ya, you can take grab too but it’s costly in SG. Since safety is good in SG , I can suggest that you can take (metered) taxi or bus.(if you can speak Hokkien and Chinese would be a plus point also as you can understand their local lingo and good rapport with them.

Private car: Gojek ( only transport, unlike grab)
Payment: Favepay (small discounts for repeated purchases)
Map: Singapore Maps (gives directions, transport options, travelling time)
One Map, Singapore Maps.
Both are great for directions in SG.
I’m going to move there this April,n your videos have been very helpful:) thank u:)
I'm so glad! Good luck with your move!

if visiting for a week, will apple pay work at the MRT turnstiles?
I think so. Apple Pay seems pretty universal/international. Just keep in mind that some credit cards charge international fees.
i stayed in singapore since i was born
Grab is very easy to use!
I insist on cash payments!
I use google earth app to find places..
Everything is money living In the tiny island name Singapore.
Trape in a people power politic
That is a nightmare
You mentioned best way to pay for public transport, only that you recommend google maps over Apple Maps.
To me, the easiest way to pay for public transit is with a digital wallet. They can be scanned just like MRT cards, but you don't need a card.
@@americaninsingapore6405 yup. Nowadays if I didn’t drive I will use iPhone to tap
Ok thanks guys, just have to hope your bank supports Apple wallet
