Ha I knew before even watching the video that you would love Sweet Vanilla Horchata since you loved the deception that was Cocoa-Roasted Chestnuts! The moment I opened the lid on that candle I was like omg this is one of those Yankee conceptual perfume-y gourmands and not a real gourmand (a la Movie Night Cocoa), which is bonkers given the name/marketing. Looks like the notes checks out on the perfume front. I don't know why the candle brands keep doing that. Stargazing was nice. Smells like one those super sweet, almost candy-florals like BBW's Pink Lilac & Vanilla or Lavender Vanilla. Also reminds me of HomeWorx's Wisteria Vine. Desert Blooms smells more generic floral and less woodsy than BBW Patchouli & Rosewood. Desert Blooms kinda gives me generic air freshener floral, but not bad.
The Yankee candles in the Signature jars are fantastic. I get great burn and throw and I also love the classic jars for throw as well but they just take too long to get through compared to the 2 wicks. I also found the new desert candles at Target and i love them all. Great review!
I finally smelled the sweet vanilla horchata. I love bakery & vanilla. It smelled perfumy to my nose. I was so confused resniffing it several times, lol. I put it back. Now I know why! I want to like it. I do like sandalwood or amber with vanilla but not a rose person. My area had several YC closed around covid time. Only 2 in my area and got an email that 1 is closing soon. Hope the 1 by me stays open for awhile. I have a gc & love sniffing before buying. YC has been making weird decisions lately!
This may sound crazy but my Stargazing wax melt performed better than my 2-wick Tumbler (on the first two burns) as far as the fragrance (it seemed to have more Lavender & Sandalwood then the candle) as well as strength & projection...hope it gets better deeper into the burn 🤞🏼. Aloe & Agave is my favorite of the four 😊.
Ooooooooo I love me some Horchata….. will keep my eye out for this. I haven’t bought much new Yankee for a while just because nothing really calls to me. I’ve got quite a few classics in my stash I enjoy reaching for. I really miss the days of the one-wick large jars that would blow the roof off.
Oh man, I find Horchata literally repulsive. If you look up how it is made, it is rice soaked in water, and then they take the water and blend it with cinnamon and other spices eeek!
I agree, it's been a strong January showing for Yankee. But their marketing, website and shrinkage of store quantity is becoming more troublesome every year. Don't bother with Canyon Pine - it's perfect for a new customer who has never bought a candle and walks in and goes, "Wow! Pine! Nice! I'll take it" and not much more. For the rest of us, it's just OK, and there are literally hundreds of better pine options out there. Sad you didn't like Stargazing more - I really love it! As to Yankee's larger, shallower 3-wicks, I picked up a Fresh Lime & Avocado at SAS and it burns divinely, and pools all the way out to the edges with no issues.
It’s interesting that you mentioned BBW Patchouli & Rosewood. I was just on their website and noticed they have a new candle called Sedona Sandstone. The notes sounded so yummy, but familiar to me. Low and behold, it has the exact same notes as Patchouli & Rosewood, which BBW is still selling in the single wick. I think it is such a money making scam to produce the same candles, but change the names in order to trick people in to buying candles that they already own. It totally turns me off to their company’s over priced candles. Life is too short for me to spend time comparing the notes on candles to see if I already own them. And I agree with you - It’s a bad business practice for Yankee to allow Target to sell their new desert collection candles for half price. Instead, Yankee should be discounting their new collection for a short time as they premiere it. Amazon also regularly sells Yankee’s large jar and tumbler candles at $16, half price. I enjoy your videos!
Yeah, the BBW repackage is super frustrating to us who are serious about candles. That said, the average customer who shops at BBW doesn’t know and doesn’t care. And while the Rosewood Patchouli name might throw someone off, the same scent called “Sedona Sandstone” might draw them in 🤷🏻♀️ I think that’s BBW’s rationale, rather than trying to trick us intentionally. Thanks for the heads up on the repackage, I did not even notice that!
The reaction to that sweet vanilla horchata haha love it! I'm honestly still burning christmas scents throughout January
That’s the idea. Right up until , Spring starts.
My toddler calls horchata “cookie milk.” He loves it.
Yankee Candle needs to hire you! You are hilarious with great points! Especially pointing out the cinnamon stick on thr clam shell! lol😂

DECEPTION is correct 😤😤 I agree with you, what is going on? Just seems lazy and incompetent
Guess I’ll be visiting Yankee or Target to pick the sweet Vanilla Horchata. Love the gourmand scents!
Gabes discount stores started carrying Yankee's older seasonal candles. They had the cardamom, mango, and market peach the last time I was there.

I have all four except Canyon Pine. Desert Blooms will be burned this Spring. I like the scents. Happy Burning.

Ooo good to know - sometimes warming is the most direct way to get the fragrance up and out!

Yes I can’t help rolling my eyes a bit when I hear “a small opening can only give you so much strength/throw”

I agree that cardamom is more of an Indian spice whereas cinnamon is more Latin.
I know we've all bought a ton of these by now but daaaang the collection is down to $11.89 at Target!
I know crazy!!!!!
