I have no musical knowledge, can't play a note and this has made me want to spend $2000 on a guitar I'll never use. Loved it. Thanks guys.
I’ve been playing since I was about 5. I’m 27 now, I’m classically trained and I play multiple genres, and I’m certainly no shill for any particular company. But I can safely say that Kiesel is my favorite. Even if you only get it as a wall decoration, it’ll still be beautiful. Very well made guitars.
He might be the best salesman ever. He knows his product to excruciating detail, he’s charismatic and he makes you feel extremely confident about his guitars. That’s why they’re leading the game
All that helps, but in the end it is the amazing guitars. I have a custom Kiesel that is incredible.
Take a look of another kiesel factory tour.. he’s explanation is kinda template and definitely prepared 😂
jeff and his dad have taken the company to a higher level of quality ...he's really a nice guy..not cocky at all..just knows his business
Jeff gets a lot of grief, yet runs the best guitar shop in the world. The guy deserves to be cocky but isn't, people often mistake passion for overconfidence
fastjunkie I had several Carvin's in the 80s. They were super high quality before the era of boutiques. That said, hardly anyone knew about them outside of SoCal. Steve via and frank Zappa both used their big amps.
Ummm "Nice Guy" .....not so much ruclips.net/video/0wcmIf2FRkQ/видео.html&ab_channel=KDH
I cant believe I watched the whole 58 minutes. What a breath taking company. This Kiesel guitar is built with live and love, and definitely I will spend my hard money on it!!
Not sure why some people are hating on this guy. He is very knowledgeable and very proud of the company. Nice tour TTK.
so many people don't do things right these days that when they hear a guy say "we're trying to do it right" they think he's lying. I think Jeff and his team know what they're doing and is passionate about building their brand. I love how he pays the wood guy when he gets his wood!! very smart -they will always call you first & sell you the best.
Jeff had a video go viral where he told a customer to "Be a man" regarding a "roasted maple neck" that looked "lighty toasted" I couldn't tell it from a normal dirty maple neck, Custom order, I'd be pissed.
way too many cool guitar companies that back their product to waste your time with one that would shame you for a critique on something they ordered. Honestly I think everyone knows what a roasted neck should look like, if it doesn't, don't market it as such.
He also took a cheap shot right off the bat at other maker about sourcing wood. This guy is just full off himself. Its a good thing daddy started a successful business. Terrible attitude.
People can say what they like Jeff is extremely good at what he does and since we are all in the flesh yeah arrogance and ego can slip in there but overall that is the sign of someone who has confidence and believes strongly in what they do. Personally I would NEVER buy any other manufacturers guitars OTHER THAN Kiesel because he does things the way I would do them correct and perfect.
@@richardclark. LMAO, here is the answer. Gibson fans.
Holy sh*t!!! That's my guitar at 37:19!! That's crazy!! Thanks for the props in the video, guys. The guitar is an absolute beast! Its definitely one I'll never be without
He seems like a top dude. I like how he talks about how HE does a lot, and how he wants the individual guitars to be top quality bit for bit. I didn’t like how he bragged a tad but. It really shows how he has passion, I admire that. Like the extremely legal wood. I respect that. Load of respect for Jeff.
Of course he brags, he just wants people to understand the time and craftmanship that they put into these guitars.
He is proud of the company and their products. He seems like a really cool guy to hangout with.
Funny - I'm sure it's due to my Canadian sensibilities.... and I fully understand that his intent is "confident salesmanship" but he really came across as smarmy to me.
I didn’t hear any bragging, just pride for his family tree and pride for the family product and history and what’s wrong with that? It must be most guitar players dream to have this access to custom guitar building
The wood sourcing actually seemed like a cheap shot at other companies. His attitude doesn't help.
I love how proud Jeff is of how they do things at Kiesel, particularly all the little details. You can tell he really does care about the quality of what they're putting out there.
Wow I can't believe some of these are only 1000$ USD.. for the amount of attention they get.. Wow great insight Louis!
That's because you buy them directly from the factory, which was Lowel C.Kiesel's (Jeff's grandpa, founder of the company) buiseness philosophy. There's no middle man,you order the guitar from the guys who build them. Before 2015,you couldn't order a custom guitar, from them directly,if you lived outside the US or Canada, you had to order it via an official dealer. The dealer would charge you sometimes 2-3 times the factory price, they want to make a profit too,you know.Thank goodness,Kiesel/Carvin abandonded the dealers, since the re-branding,in 2015.We still have to pay extra for shipping and VAT/import taxes overseas, which can vary from country to country(the UK for example has very high taxes) but their guitars are still cheaper compared to Gibson,PRS,Suhr or other US high-end brands.
For example, their CT6 costs, even without the extra costs, half the money you would pay for a similar US PRS Custom 22/24,despite having the same if not superior specs, like stainless steel frets.
WoahBoomshakalaka Adding the finishes are pretty expensive if you're making a custom one, it's definitely cheaper than some of the mass produced so-called high end guitars other (larger) companies will price for twice the price.
no middle man of guitar stores and direct sales. Impressive level of custom shop for the price compared to what Jackson, Fender, and Gibson charge almost TWICE as much for less quality.
after you add options it rounds out to about $2000
Still half the cost of other US custom shop guitars and what a non CS mid grade sells for.
All i could think about is that poor dude who has to wait longer for his guitar because Jeff wanted to take pictures of it😂😂 stunning looking guitar though! Already saving for my Kiesel
I laughed out loud when I took the cover off the control cavity on my carvin for the first time. My fended and Gibsons had sawdust in them. This thing was immaculate lol
Finally a Kiesel tour with good video and good audio to match. Good job Tone King.
I've been playing guitar over 30 years , and that has to be the BEST shop tour ive ever seen hands down . A big tip of the hat to Tone King and Jeff For spending the time to show us the heart and sole of Kiesel guitars. Wow !!
compared to other walk throughs ive seen, this one was pretty good. ceo knows his factory. tone king's getting a discount and kiesel is getting publicity, win win for both of them, plus the youtube ad revenue! not bad at all
Ugh.. and now I need a Kiesel ! Holy sh, that one Jeff took outside must be the most beautiful guitar I have ever seen !
That Blue in the sun is UNREAL! WOW!
I know when I see a marketing expert. Very solid one here, also owner. Knows what to say to impress and knows the all game in the factory. Very succesful.
Jeff always does such a great job with the walkthroughs! Thanks!
Larry Grabarek Just based on his passion alone and great attitude makes it worth it!
totally
JEFF YOU ARE THE MAN!!! I cant wait to purchase from youre company. This is as american as if gets. Love your drive and passion for your craft. Its inspiring for musicians who are just as passionate about there craft. KEEP IT UP JEFF!!!!.
He's got guys working for him that were hired when he was born. that is so cool. I wish I needed another guitar, id get one from these guys.
Do you think the CEO of Gibson could talk at this level about how guitars are made? I seriously doubt it, hence the reason why Kiesel guitars are quality and Gibsons have lost their marketshare.
Mike Smithson yea Jeff Kiesel and everything about this place makes me want one of these guitars , and I’m calling tomorrow to put in my order
Bought a Carvin Ultra V in 2007.Simply an amazing fiddle. My 2 favorite guitars are that Ultra and my Early 80’s PRS.Obviously custom shop guitars.Being an old metal/jazz guy i went out on a limb this summer and had a Zeus 7 string built.Unbelievable guitar and a constant inspiration.Thank you Jeff and thank you to the entire Kiesel family for bringing music back into my life.
Just realised these guys are Carvin.
Simply the worst guitar I’ve ever owned, unfortunately bought as a present it was a dead piece of crap that went straight back.
@@fearnpol4938 I've had a dozen gibsons (none right now....they're dropping fast in value) and a used carvin CT6 that I don't think anyone had ever set up. the workmanship on the carvin was better than any of the gibsons I've had, and it was straighter than most (no strange neck profiles, no hump, etc).
I doubt gibson's quality on average is close to carvin's, but gibson does have a strong fanboy club. When gibson does nail a guitar, it's really nice, vintage feel, etc, but the quality just hasn't improved while everyone else around them has improved quality. Even current custom shop listings have issues with bridges off center, etc.
I'm sure there are dead carvins - I was egged on to buy one only based on several people telling me that the newer ones are close to collings in fit and finish (nothing is as good as a collings, but they are so perfect that some people might be put off). The one that I got used was pretty close to the collings guitars I have and have had (but a little less refined). Gibson is not close to either.
@mtb supertroll Amen bro.
Ive played guitar for over 50 yrs Carvin/Kiesel are best I've played and I've pretty much played them all,fit and finish and playability is unsurpassed, thanks Albert
Wow. I learned so much! The company is in good hands with Jeff. What a great guy.
Jeff, don't know if you'll see this comment, but, this tour is just amazing !! Well done.
The world needs to care the same way kiesel cares about guitar building.. amazing tour
I've been playing for 46 years, I've owned all the guitars, all the great brands, many of them and Kiesel headless are the best I've ever played! Own 6. Sold off all of my collection except for a Gretsch White Falcon. ❤
can feel the passion on the voice of this guy, that's rare and beautiful
37:19 Second time Jeff stopped what he was doing to look at my guitar :D Did it in a live stream too haha.
my guitar** ;)
So cool!
I bought the guitar shown at 39:10 . It is an amazing tonal beast, my thanks to Jeff and his team!
Congrats for the purchase. Just for curious, how much?
It's awesome to see how excited Jeff is about what he does and the passion he has for making guitars and the process he seems rad. Thanks for sharing this! : )
How fucking amazing are KIESEL Guitars. The amount of attention to detail and consideration of longevity of the instruments is second to none, proud official Endorsee right here 👌
they are amazing...Got my JB5 yesterday amazing finish!! amazing tone!!. I can tell they pay close attention to detail.
I wanted a good travel guitar and picked up my new Vader this week it is quite amazing and blows away any smaller sized travel guitar.
Good call, man. I ordered a V6 too for traveling. What better way to kill time between connecting flights?
Jeff sure knows his stuff. What a great tour. Thanks for making this video :)
the only way someone wud think he was arrogant in this video is jealous. he did a great tour. and part of this video is advertisement. he had strong product knowledge pride determination wtf. i will be getn one someday
It's not arrogance, its pride and it's confident. He had a choice in life as he talked about and he chose wisely.
@guitdoc Only Beta's are intimidated.
Tony S. He can’t be arrogant if what he is saying is 110 percent facts
You will not regret it. Look at GC. They are an overpriced JOKE.SCREW GC. I have nothing to gain by recommending this company
Ikr lol
Thnx for this video! After seeing this & learning about this family owned company & how well they treat & respect their employees, I'm definitely ordering one!🤘🤘🤘🤘
did you ever order a kiesel guitar?
Jeff seems like a great guy. He knows everything about each aspect of their guitar building process, and takes an active role in many aspects. I would definitely feel comfortable buying a guitar from Kiesel. I’ve watched tours of Fender and Gibson factories, but Kiesel seems much more hands on in their custom builds. It also seems like the workers are a family. Excellent video!
I have alot of respect for Jeff and the Kiesel organization. He is a very humble guy and he truly breeds a family oriented environment. It makes me want to purchase a Kiesel guitar.
Blown away at how knowledgeable young Mr. Keisel is and how much he cares about his products, his customers and he's family's legacy! Well done! Slick advertising with the tat on the hand!
He doesn't care about his customers 🤣 he treats them like crap
Alright my next guitar is a keisel... better start saving
They are cheaper than Gibson, PRS etc.. It only costs about 2,500 for a good one. There are specials going on now.
@@shawnshipstad8883 and for 2500 you can customize it pretty well too. On a PRS and Gibson you're going to pay out the ass for something that Kiesel can do for less than half the price of a high end Gibson or PRS ( I love PRS but damn are they expensive).
Is this company related to Carbon?
I mean Carvin?
I read "better start starving" at first glance.
Outstanding tour. I'm kind of a nerd for guitar factory tours and this is at or near the top of all I've seen. The attention to detail, cleanliness, and work environment really impress.
Looks like a stunning factory! Never saw so many possible combinations of different woods and builds, with crazy veneering and grain possibilities, and style of fingerboards. As professional as it gets, really glad to see this video! When I contacted them for a custom neck through blank, they were really cool to deal with. Looking forward to doing business with Jeff.
True Americana. I'd be so happy and proud to work here. I also like how he saw a guitar he loved so much that he took it and put it in his office Lol.
Thank you for the tour in the new factory. Such gorgeous guitars. Learned a couple of new things. Made me want to put together another build again.
38:18 I liked that he said "make this your signature model". Love their work. Gorgeous guitars.
Totally blows away the Ernie Ball walkthrough. Quality to dollar ratio is absolutely amazing! Great job Jeff!
Man oh man, talk about a guy who loves and believes in his company. And the shop, computerized CNC tools where precision is crucial but still tons of what really is just woodshop equipment. I enjoyed every second of this video.
all i can say is WOW by far the best guitar company walk thru vids ive ever seen just subbed btw
Knowledgeable, passionate, experienced. This is who I want building instruments for me. Great job, Jeff. Thanks for the hard work. Just ordered mine this morning.
This video is what sold me on the Kiesel brand. I'm currently waiting on a Jason Becker Numbers. Had to get my fix and come back and watch again. How can you not cheer for Jeff and his team doing it all the right way? I'd love to meet them all someday. -Jeff Martin
Wow.. this is the craftsmanship and care you want from a custom shop. I’m truly blown away. My next guitar will definitely be a Kiesel.
not the quality control id want from a guitar that costs that much, $1k + and at 11:46 in the kiesel video the cnc machine which is soo accurate to the hair, pops a big 3 inch piece of wood out of the neck lol wow and the guy doesn't even address it... hopefully that neck went in the trash! i wouldn't pay that much money for a guitar with a neck that had to have that much wood filling to fix. i know its not their fault, its just something in that piece of wood grain, but he should have addressed it on the spot and said how they would fix it or if it was defunct and in the trash. hopefully in the trash for that kind of money. idk, just my opinion. especially after working in a wood factory running these same machines, for beds and baby cribs, a chunk that big would be in the discard bin.
The special blue one that the captain was showing us out in the sunlight you could jump in there and take a swim, beautiful😮
Y’all do not know how much I love this company
This is an excellent video and factory tour. Sure looks like they build high quality guitars with some beautiful tops there.
Very impressive. I love what they do with their necks. And I'm so envious of Jeff's job. Thanks again Tone King, quality videos as usual.
Thank you for making this video TK I’ve always wanted to see a factory tour like this!
I enjoyed that soooooo much that I can't put it into words!!!!!! it was one beautiful guitar after another..... how does anyone decide on just one???? great stuff. love kiesel.... thank you for doing that!!!
Absolutely love this video dude, Jeff is an incredible guy, so genuine and always pushing to get the best out of his guitars. What a sick company 😄
Best factory tour on the internet..TTK and Jeff what a great job you did. Thanks.. but now I gotta have one. I'll be calling soon.
Very enjoyable tour. We went to the San Diego showroom but hadn't seen their new digs. Jeff is a very articulate and interesting tour guide. Kiesel/Carvin make top-of-the-line gear for sure. Thank you, TTK for making this video! 😊👍🏻
The best factory tour on RUclips!!!
Wow, this tour is off the hook. You don't see this kind of manufacturing and awesome employees with years of experience very much in USA anymore. This video might have earned Kiesel my next purchase of a guitar. Nicely done.
An hour well spent. Thanks for taking the time to put this together.
I've never had the privilege to get my hands on a Kiesel guitar yet. I really enjoyed watching this video, and hope I get the chance to try one out real soon. Thanks for this video Tone King 😎👍
What Carvin became is completely amazing! I didn't know, that Kiesel was the initial name of company. It's the best guitar factory tour I've ever watch. Hope one day to buy their product.
I have been contemplating ordering a Kiesel Vader, and I've been on the fence about it. But after watching this video, I feel like my chances of getting exactly the customization I want, made to the highest quality, at a reasonable price point, is higher than with any other company.
As for the comments about how Jeff comes off as arrogant or bragging--I don't know what kind of social circle those people hang out in, but in my social circle/profession (art, music, photography, writing, animation, film), everyone's very passionate in the same way Jeff is, and it saddens me that this love and pride for what one does can be misconstrued as arrogance. I've met arrogant assholes before and Jeff is nothing like them. When he criticized other companies, he was being very constructive about it and explains in detail why Kiesel does that particular thing better. He wasn't being mean-spirited about it at all.
I guess in our society, most people consider it bad form when someone claims "I am/we are the best," even when that claim can be backed up by clear, objective evidence. The moment you even dare to toot your own horn, the public will come down hard on you because social etiquette demands that you be humble always, no matter what. This is understandable when it comes to individuals, but in the case of businesses, wouldn't you want products from a company that genuinely feels immense pride and love for what they do, and can say with total confidence that they are indeed the best?
Rob Chang .....Amen😇
Plenty of Karen's in California....they should move to Florida, less taxes could bring the prices down as well...
California sucks!!!
Excellent tour! Amazing craftsmanship and pride in your work.
Thank you so much for this video. I've been a fan of carvin/kiesel for the past 20 years. I've ordered 5 so far and can't wait to get another
I was thinking about getting a PRS sometime next year, but screw it, I want a Kiesel.
You will not regret that decision.
Yeah dude they are amazing...
@@jonrivera well he might..these are nice very nice but Paul is on a whole other level
@@bakachaka Paul is on a whole other level...price wise. PRS are orthodontist/lawyer expensive
@@bakachaka my prs felt like a toy after getting my kiesel
Top shelf operation. Thanks very much for this video. Wow. Such quality & know how. Long live Kiesel guitars.
Glad I watched the whole thing! As it turns out, this dude genuinely loves his family, guitars, coworkers/employees, and job. This company definitely embodies what I envision "Made in America" to mean - in terms of a philosophy as well as a quality standard. In my opinion, "Made in America" products don't seem to adhere to these standards as consistently these days, which is quite unfortunate. However, when you see an operation at this scale cranking out such a high volume of incredibly detailed and high quality instruments it certainly gives me hope! I'll definitely be in the market for something from these dudes in the future - the products speak for themselves!
I love the personal conversation at the end! Jeff has taken the company to the next level.
I used to see Manny at the Santa Ana store.
This is a super good tour of your facility and nice explanation of your history and tells exactly where you came from.
I will visit your showroom in Escondido soon. That's a gotta do thing for me now, especially after watching the hour long tour today.
See you soon Jeff
Holy crap this was a nice vid!!! Definetly sharing. I mean, those finishes were spectacular! I gotta go see their website... Definetly loved all the care the guitars get, the herirage involved, and the enthusiasm.
Great video. Great tour guide. Loved the detailed knowledge dropping and insider info he was giving.
Keisel without a doubt is making the best Guitars in the US. Talk about pride in craftsmanship, they are second to none!!
That was awesome, I want a custom Kiesel now.
Owning a Kiesel is to be Proud. The name Kiesel stands for so much more than just a great musical instrument, it stands for Family, Success, Pride and Tradition!
YEAH A KIESEL TOUR!!! I should be sleeping but that will have to wait another hour ahah!
I love he is carrying the torch from their family, Ive been running my grandfathers coffee farm for two years so I can relate. Ill definetly be getting a kiesel , specially now that finally theyve got stainless steel frets in all their guitars
Very Impressive Indeed!...Quality!..Quality!!..Quality!!! and what Beauty! Best Tour I Have Ever Seen!
56:14 I see you Stevie T... xD
Hell yeah...terreberry in the house
Keith and Noble are absolute studs to deal with through email and the phone. Great to see the contact centre getting some love!
Genuinely a pleasure to see the magnetic enthusiasm for the candy finish, totally agree, that tropical ocian finish is beautiful.
It's also genuinely great to see that your people love working there. It's as good as seeing the dedication to the quality of your work.
An enjoyable vidio. Thanks for sharing it with us all.
More than impressed. And you have a tremendous amount of know how. innovation. quality driven . Thanks for the tour.!!!!
This was awesome! Thanks, Tone King!
Amazing walk through, very impressive company. As a guy who has been reading guitar mags for last 40 years and always noticed the high quality Carvin / Kiesel ads, I'm amazed that you just do not see a lot of these guitars (I'm in NJ). I think I've seen a bass or 2 and 1 guitar my whole life? They were very nice instruments from what I recall, but I wish I lived in southern California, would love to stop by that showroom which was very well stocked and way cool w all the amps and stuff. Demand sounds great and there should be more out there for sure as 20 a day are going out the door so congrats to Jeff and crew!
Man what a great showcase of a company and product. I've been wanting one, but now I want to work there to. Crazy inspirational
Amazing review and tour, so good to see !
This literally convinced me to buy a custom bass form them. Pure quality.
Bitchen video and a crazy cool tour. As a recently retired machinist I really love your shop. We always made high end molds and held .00005 tolerances so its great to see an American guitar company using the same methods as we used. Quality is #1 with you guys so I can see one coming my way in the future. USA USA USA!!
When I win the lottery tonight, I’m definitely going to order a guitar from Kiesel , you guys make some beautiful instruments without question. I’ve never played any of the Kiesel models, but from what I’ve seen and heard, I have to have one or two of their guitars.
The best walkthrough I've ever seen! Jeff is doin' an amazing job.
And now I knew: "I want a custom Kiesel" from the best guitar company on this planet! Great Job Tone King!
Awesome video, TK!! \m/
one of the best factory tour vids I've seen. and yes.....I want a Kiesel custom guitar! :-)
Those are the cleanest Cavity routes , smooth as glass , no burring .
I think I’ll be ordering one of these in a couple of months. The apparent dedication to quality gives me a lot of confidence that the guitar will be of the highest quality at a very reasonable price compared to others.
Hello, i watched the whole video and i am very impressed with the passion that you have. Beautiful guitars. I am a big fan of Carvins and Kiesel. Keep it up
It don't get much better than that!!! Awesome video!!!
Literally straight to their website to start planning. I'm sold. I don't know what more I could ask for. Quality guitars made with passion.

Awesome video and tour, guys got an amazing attitude. Some day I'll have them build me one of these monster guits...
Great video Jeff! Looking forward to buying one of your basses!
Halfway thru so far, this is a GREAT video !! Nicely done !!
