Was until January 1997 when the tabloid, "Homeless Holly" came into view which details Holly's life more than a year after TPIR which states that she was living out of her car and received no job offers since, if any at all. When a bellboy from a ski resort in Utah saw her car and found out it was Holly, he immediately went up to the manager of the resort and he said, "Well send her over here! We can give her a job!"
@@jasoncklose I always figured that Hard Copy was considered "tabloit news" or news that's not 100% confirmed. I'm really not a fan of that talk show but my sister watches it on occasion and while in the kitchen, I easedropped on what would be the infamous "Price Is Wrong" segment where Holly was interviewed following her dismissal from TPIR and at the time, the reason of being "too old and fat" was made public. At first, I didn't want to believe it since Hard Copy had already been in a lot of big trouble from Elton John accusing them that he is HIV + and has the AIDS virus which was definitely false. Then I started noticing that Bob Barker has not mentioned Holly's name throughout 1996. Even on the 25th Anniversary special that August, not one mention on Holly or any of the past clips featuring herself along with that of Dian Parkinson was made on the air. So I assume at the time that Holly was moving on. That was until the following January where I caught wind with a tabloit from a magazine which has the headline "Homeless Holly". At the time,. I just looked at the article but didn't bother purchasing it later as I've done before and since on most magazines or newspapers and it was that moment where I couldn't ignore what I read: Unemployed, lost everything, living out of her car, etc. Since Bob never mentioned her name since the last time she was on TPIR , I wondered whether or not the Hard Copy segment was true and that it led to this? It was then that I stopped supporting TPIR despite watching it religiously. On one occasion, instead of watching it, I played my CD player to Genesis' "Guide Vocal" as if Phil Collins voice was speaking directly at Bob Barker like I was responding to him as well before leaving the room with the TV set still turned off wondering if I would ever see Holly again. During that time period, another competitive show "The View" on ABC was on the same time as TPIR and premiered around the same time as Holly's dismissal and consists of mostly former TPIR fans whom stopped watching as a result making up almost half its total lifelong devoted audience. I also heard that Holly appeared on the show only after the lawsuit was settled a decade later but never became one of the five female hosts onstage. That's too bad because Holly really did deserve better. Justice for Holly!
Holly was my favorite beauty as a child! I'm glad she's still around and well. I LOVED her smile and she could sell me anything!! That's a REAL model.😘

You and me both! Holly was easily the most beautiful model they've ever had on TPIR. She had the girl-next-door look and vibe that none of the others had. So gorgeous, sweet, cute, fun loving and down-to-earth.
She was let go because she became too fat and made too many mistakes, so she figured, like so many other charlatans, that she could get back some of that previous fame and fortune, by filling a false claim. Pride always comes before the fall.
Yes she did at the time…living in her car for a year after selling everything to spend on lawyers which she settled out of court for a few million and had she not mentioned Bobs name ever again she would have gotten millions more but she stood her ground and i believe her…she’s worth 10 million now… so happy to see her doing good and still helping out people who are being sexually harassed on the job👍

Makes me sad that most of my beloved tv personalities growing up who i felt were wholesome ended up being shitty people. Good for Holly glad she got her money in the end...living out of her car to fight someone so powerful would have drained most people but glad she made it work.
Bob Barker knows the real reason Holley was let go. Holly stuck to her principles and stood up to him. When Holley left many of us stopped watching the price is right.
06:21 on the day I am writing this, Bob Barker passed away. The tributes are pouring in, as one can imagine. But for what he did to Holly, I don't have much forgiveness for the man. I am sure she's going to be bombarded by The Lamestream for post-death interviews. That's fine. But it's great to know that Holly actually won, in more ways than one. That because of all this she owns several homes, and lives quietly in Texas. Too many people, she will always be America's Sweetheart.
As an adolescent with raging hormones, I truly believed I was in love with Holly. She always seemed like the funny, beautiful but oddly approachable girl next door. Glad she was tough enough to stand up to Barker. I am still sad, though, to have learned how tyrannical he was.

Being a guy that always preferred brunettes... Holly was my favorite simply because she was the only “non-blonde” on the show. I thought as she matured over the years and makeup and hairstyles changed, she actually became more beautiful than when she had first appeared. In addition, she ALWAYS seemed to come across as more wholesome, engaging and personable than the other two... and her odd luck of being the model that seemed to have things go not quite to script just made her seem all the more “normal” to this viewer. She also gets kudos from me for being a hometown girl whose name became a household word for the right reasons.
I totally agree with everything you said. Holly was and is very special. I think I knew that from the first time I saw her as a small child, watching the "The Price Is Right" and being drawn to her loveliness. She was a beautiful girl when she started on the show in 1977, but she definitely blossomed into a gorgeous, mature woman as she aged. She is the most beautiful model TPIR has ever had...hands down! She hasn't been photographed publicly since 2005, when she gave television interviews talking about her settlement in the case against Bob Barker. Besides, Holly is WAY beyond more beautiful than that lady. Not even close!
I think TPIR was at it’s best in the early 80s. As a kid it made summertime morning tv fun, then head out to play. Enjoyed the music, games and the people on the show. Great memories for sure.
Things need to change and Holly made that possible by standing up to the Bob Barkers, Harvey Weinsteins, and Bill Cosbys of this world. Thank you Holly for making a difference and doing the right thing!
She never claimed she was raped. It was another slut from the show that claimed sexual harassment, which could have been a slap on the ass or whatever, but Barker was never convicted of anything. So get your story right before you lump him together with the worst rapists of all time.
Well done Holly for standing up for yourself. Some types of men have been getting away with pre-historic attitudes to women for way too long. Thankfully that attitude is changing. You are part of the reason that attitudes are evolving. You should be proud of yourself.
Absolutely! No one has to put up / go along with unethical business practices or co-workers, whether it's a boss or not. Bravo to you Miss Holly, for standing up for yourself! ❤👍💪
I used to enjoy watching her on the price is right. I had a slight crush on her . I never heard of all the problems she had . Yes I am glad she stuck with it . Sorry it took her whole life to get things straightened out. God Bless You Holly.
Holly was always my favorite Barker's Beauty; Besides her being tall and drop dead gorgeous, she played the roll of clumsy/butt of the joke so well it was hard not to fall for her! It was sad that once Bob became a producer for the show around 1990 the show started to falter a bit and the light heartedness and fun they seem to have during the 80s came to an end. Holly did right by not getting involved with the Dian harassment lawsuit and refusing to take sides. Unfortunately she lost her job because of it and it took her a number of years to get her life back but, she in the end won!
I can't see one single thing Holly Hallstrom did wrong all of those years other than simply be herself. Standing on principle as she did during the Bob Barker "disgrace" only solidifies my opinion of her.
Always loved her on the show. Of course she should have stood up to Barker. She had the guts to suffer the consequences by doing the right thing, and glad she recovered from her Hollywood experience.
Wow! When I watched The Price Is Right as a teen, Holly was my favorite model, and then Diane. Janice, I really didn't care much for. I had no idea all this drama was going on behind the scenes!
Yep I remember those girls very well. She was an original. And she did the right thing by standing up. She was a hottie always giddy laughing and smiling.
I would to see Drew Carey one day bring back the former models from the past; Janice Pennington, Anitra Ford, Holly Holstrom, etc., and have them on the show. But I think I read that Bob Barker still has quite the leverage with the show , so it may be after his death that this may happen.
Assuming what is out there is fact, Holly did the right thing. Too bad we will never know everything from everyone on this(between what happened between Bob and Holly, but also between Holly and other beauties as they had their own drama) to divide blame properly with everyone.
I always admired Holly Hallstrom. I always thought how pretty she was, and the fact that Holly stood up to Bob Barker. Bob Barker had an arrogance to him if one were to look a bit further into his nature.
Yes I like Holly a lot I lived the bloopers, and im proud of Holly for going after bob Barker, since I was in the industry we all knew of his reputation and his trickery to beat the settlement of Holly's by the threat of continued slander so she reduced it to keep him silent...HE IS AND ALWAYS WAS A DIRTY OLD MAN....ID NEVER LET MY KIDS WATCHED THE SHOW
Since Drew Carey's taken over, would you let them watch it now and did you let them watch the short lived night time version with Doug Davidson(of Young and the Restless fame)?
Holly was always my favorite she should be applauded for standing up for herself. I saw somewhere once where some guy who was into golfing got into a fight with Bob Barker unsure who won the fight though.
Even though I like Bob Barker, if that was the case, I think Holly Hallstrom who I also like was correct in refusing to support any corruption. I just regret the scandal involved & that Holly Hallstrom was terminated from The Price Is Right & had an unsuccessful career as an actress + being even homeless for a while. I hope that she is doing OK. It took plenty of courage to do what she did. This unfortunate situation reminds me of what God's Bible states at Ecclesiastes 9:11 I've viewed something under the sun. The swift don't always win the race. Nor do the mighty win the battle, nor do the wise always have the food, nor do the intelligent always have the riches, nor do those with knowledge always have success, since time & unexpected events overtake them all.
Yes she did the right thing, standing up for rights and dignity against an abuser and toxic work environment is never wrong. She was decades ahead of her time. It takes strong will and sacrifice to peruse this injustice. Kudos and enjoy your well earned retirement.👍🙌🙏❤

She was the one model who looked the most natural when it came to beauty.
Thank you Holly for making a difference and doing the right thing!
exactly what I was thinking as I watched thid video
She never claimed she was raped. It was another slut from the show that claimed sexual harassment, which could have been a slap on the ass or whatever, but Barker was never convicted of anything. So get your story right before you lump him together with the worst rapists of all time.
She did the right thing she has integrity and good moral judgement -its not easy sticking up for what's right!
Well done Holly for standing up for yourself. Some types of men have been getting away with pre-historic attitudes to women for way too long. Thankfully that attitude is changing. You are part of the reason that attitudes are evolving. You should be proud of yourself.
Well said! We're happy that Holly stood up. What other types of videos would you like to see?
Thanks for doing this one. Holly was my favorite.

What a treat to hear of Holly’s endeavors. She was always my favorite.

Bob Barker never said “Come On Down!”
Absolutely! No one has to put up / go along with unethical business practices or co-workers, whether it's a boss or not. Bravo to you Miss Holly, for standing up for yourself! ❤👍💪
We agree! Thank you for watching our content. Be on the lookout for our next video!
Holly was the reason I tuned in every morning. What a beautiful smile!
Holly was always my favorite. Love today's too With Amber, Rachel and Manualla.
She was always the most natural on stage, and was always my personal favorite of the Barker models. ....oh, and the prettiest too.
We feel the same way! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
good for holly for standing up to barker
1977-1995 is 18 years, but this is informative nonetheless. I believe Holly was correct in what she did.
Right. Less than 20 years is far from almost 30 years. Such idiocy makes me doubt the rest of the "facts"! 👎
I was looking for this comment. 18 years is a far cry from 30 years.
Well said! We're happy to know that you're a true Holly Hallstrom fan. What other types of videos would you like to see?
I can't see one single thing Holly Hallstrom did wrong all of those years other than simply be herself. Standing on principle as she did during the Bob Barker "disgrace" only solidifies my opinion of her.
I think Holly did the right thing. Why should she lie to make another person look bad to the public. Shame on you Bob Barker.
Bob Barker was having several affairs with different models on the show. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
@@harperstacey9604 that Bob is quite the jerk eh
@@ryanducharme7505 Bob Barker was a dirty Old man. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
All heck broke loose once Bob Barker took over Frank Wayne as executive producer. Bob loved this!
a very strong woman. so proud of what she did
We absolutely agree! Thank you for watching our content. Be on the lookout for our next video!
She wasn't going to let that old dirty bastard win the lawsuit like all the others he's won over.
Always loved her on the show. Of course she should have stood up to Barker. She had the guts to suffer the consequences by doing the right thing, and glad she recovered from her Hollywood experience.
Absolutely, she was 100 % right as rein !!!
She was my favorite and always will be.
ABSOLUTELY!!! She could have simply said I don't know anything about it or I wasn't there.
The way you stop a bully is by standing up to them. Fear only ignites the fire.
Wow! When I watched The Price Is Right as a teen, Holly was my favorite model, and then Diane. Janice, I really didn't care much for. I had no idea all this drama was going on behind the scenes!
Glad to know you learned something new about the Price is Right. Thank you for watching our content. Be on the lookout for our next video!
Don't forget Dian Parkinson
Dude - Holly is 70!
@@brucemclaughlin7845 With gray hair. YIPES!
Assuming what is out there is fact, Holly did the right thing. Too bad we will never know everything from everyone on this(between what happened between Bob and Holly, but also between Holly and other beauties as they had their own drama) to divide blame properly with everyone.
She was always my favorite. To me, her beauty is eternal, because I will always see her that way.
Such beautiful words, thank you!
I always admired Holly Hallstrom. I always thought how pretty she was, and the fact that Holly stood up to Bob Barker. Bob Barker had an arrogance to him if one were to look a bit further into his nature.
Absolutely Yes Yes Yes She Did Great by standing up to him Amazing Wonderful for what she believe in Great job Holly
Thanks for watching! We're so glad you enjoyed this video. What other types of videos would you like to see?
Yes indeed Holly did right standing up to that devil 😈 Bob Barker, I always thought Holly was the prettiest model on that show
Much respect for her 💯. So glad she stood up to him. I always found him creepy even though the show was awesome. I hope I age that well🤩
Why did you find Bob Barker creepy? Wish you would have explained in your comment.
@@texasmimi5566 just a vibe I had
If there's ever a reason to hate him this is it. Long live the magnificent Holly!
Still, you could always watch Match Game reruns.
Can't even begin to count the times I cranked it to Holly as a teenager! And she's still gorgeous!
She is just the greatest

Glad to hear that Bob Barker didn't always get away with his unsavory actions. He said things that weren't the Truth, and there were Consequences.
Yes she did the right thing by standing up to Bob Barker.
Yes she did , god bless Bob Barker , most men think with the wrong head at some time ! Holly , loved her back then and love her today , Good women !
Holly was always my favorite she should be applauded for standing up for herself. I saw somewhere once where some guy who was into golfing got into a fight with Bob Barker unsure who won the fight though.
Would that be Adam Sandler from Happy Gilmore?
@@jonathanashbeck3740 sure is
Even though I like Bob Barker, if that was the case, I think Holly Hallstrom who I also like was correct in refusing to support any corruption.

Bob always was referred to you as the "star" of TpiR unlike Alex trebek who insisted on being introduced as the host. Without all the zany contestants Barker would be nothing but 3-ring circus leader!
Dian Parkinson was always the one who stood out for me.
She was very naturally beautiful. She would have made a good Charlie's Angels. Good video.
Excellent point. Or if she could do comedy, and I think she can, ---- three's company.

@@Bigbadwhitecracker that also
Not to mention a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader, had she been one over a PIR model.
Holly was always my favorite Price is Right girl!! So cute!!
Sure enough she did the right thing, Standing up to a tyrant like Bob Barker and still being alive that takes guts, way to go Holly Halstrom.
Yes she did the right thing and stood her ground and helped another person at the same time. She was deserving of what she received in her settlement but did not deserve the problems she had to go thru and the hardship she suffered. Glad to see her get her settlement and good to know she is doing better and is doing well these days.
Glad Holly's ok. She went through alot!
