Im a Christian and i love this song. It bashes any religion, authority, or institution that uses fear and lies for control. Tuomos is just a genius and i love every band member.
I'm tickled by your enthusiasm, but you're so right! I've heard their songs probably hundreds of times, but they never get old! Dark chest of wonders is my ringtone!
During this show the host of the Dutch tv show The Reunion is in the crowd as are Floor's parents. After this show when she was back in Holland she takes part in the Tv Show The Reunion. The host talks about her live in her old school with her and her classmates You get to know Floor better as a person and see her backstage at this show. Great stuff , you will love it and will love Floor even more....:)
"It's like rediscovering Nightwish every song..." I love this statement. When you are not bound by music industry standard formats like here in the US, and have full artistic freedom.
Isn't it amazing how winded they are after every song they do live???? ..... That's what happens when you put your heart and your soul into every song........Sahara.....Tampa Bay!!!! Other great one........ Please put that on your list!!! Ty
This band functions as a team, I think that is what impresses me the most. They work together, and they support each other. It's been said a million times, but, they are there for the song, the music. That and the fact that each member is a consumate artist is what raises Nightwish above any other band that I have heard.
Not Kai's first gig. Marko is just giving him some love, because he's prominently featured in the intro. Marko also introduces Tuomas before "The Greatest Show on Earth" at the very same concert, because the beginning of the song prominently features Tuomas. Just one family member giving love to another.
Yes that voice is from Richard Dawkins. The entire album is based on the book Endless forms most beautyfull (hence the album name ^^) This album was written for Floor (May she feel better soon)
One of my favourite Nightwish performances 🔥 Not all reactors ”dare” to do this one, as the interpretation can be somewhat contoversial. Kudos to you! I myself don’t neccessarily think it is anti-religion, but it points out some of the not so pleasant sides of organized religion …
Compared to the sh!t Deicide writes about Christianity, this is very, very, very, very, *very* mild.🤣 Anyway, in this day and age, you can send death threats to the Pope and nobody will care, so the whole "criticism of religion" thing has kind of lost the edge. Especially coming from a metal band - there isn't a single one that hasn't done it.
If people interpret it as anti-religion, I'm fine with that. Organized religion does more harm than good. You can still be a person of faith without organized religion, which is mostly about power and greed. As long as people are able to separate religion from faith, they should have no problem with this song. And if they can't, too bad.
Tampere, Wacken, Buenos Aires, Wembley and now so many more recorded footage for us to enjoy. This is the key difference with the classic rock bands of the past where we don't have this wealth of video material.
Marko introduced Kai because of his solo ;D - The "difference" you can hear is the fact that this song was composed for the abilities of Floor, like "Yours is ..., Shudder ..., Alpenglow and TGSOE". So Tuomas was using her voice in a different way *lol*. You will see more magic when you will listen to the current stuff like "Shoemaker", "Noise", "Tribal" or the unbelivable "How is the Heart". THIS should be your next one btw!!! "How is the Heart" acoustic live from Planet Rock. ONLY Troy & Floor performing. Aaaahh, goosies....
I concur as well! You could do a double reaction on How's the Heart btw. Music Video first and then the lyric version of Planet Rock. Notice the differences.. Awesome!!! 🤘🇳🇱🤘
Tampere my birthtown. Saw Nightwish in Nokian areena Tampere april 2022. Floor was sick..she is a real fighter and the concert whent well..but something was wrong you could se that. Tampere a wonderful town.
This was a fantastic gig and Floor is doing this not only in front of 20,000 plus change as Marko says but also in front of her mum and dad how proud must they be to see their daughter up there. I know you have done Greatest show on Earth but you should check it out at this show it's amazing.
From the same Tampere show The Islander is a must. And how about Wintersun, Kai's former band? And Brother Firetribe, Emppu's side project? Also, another fantastic female fronted metal band from Finland Battle Beast needs some attention too!
You missed Floor's eyes during "show off toys" lyric (you were jamming with eyes closed, both times :)). Do yourself a "favor" and watch it again, it's hilarious and powerful moment (considering the topic of the song), worth it.
Thanks for the reaction. One of my favorites. The most angry one I adore is Master Passion Greed. Never played live but I'd love you to react for that.
Great reaction as always... a little diversion coming up, i really hope you see this comment.. anyway, at exactly 12.25 of this reaction, Floor stands a 'Pose' , , it may remind you of another pose, Freddie Mercury !!!!!!. so, somewhere out there in youtube-land there is a video of Floor & Freddie singing 'who wants to live forever'... I dare you to not be flabergasted & get goose-bumps !!!.... Enjoy 🤘🤘🤘
This song is against organized religions based on tribal religious texts, especially The Bible, it's not against personal faith in some Deity. However, one should realize that all those religious texts are & have been interpreted and used to justify unimaginable cruelties, persecution, discrimination etc., the worst being the idea that man is separate from nature & by some divine right above all other lifeforms, which explains the current almost catastrophic state of our planet. lyrics are spot on - so many fractures in our world have a root in the fantasy that each of the religions/sects/whatever are THE ONE way. This song speaks, with anger, against the fact that we humans are destroying ourselves and this world based on a power structure that needs to be made obsolete - we ALL deserve better. I LOVE this Song . Especially Floor's Freddie Mercury pose at the end . Speaking of Freddie ,....Floor's first band After Forever did a Cover of Queen's song "Who Wants To Live Forever " : Who Wants To Live Forever ruclips.net/video/yPLtgu2pPic/видео.html NWSU/FloorFan 🤘😎🤘.
It is past two o'clock in the night, waking up, so i am checking out you tube; and yes another Nightwish song "Weak fantasy". Thank you . I want to ask you if you would like like to check out the song " A lifetime of adventure" inspired by "the life and times of Scrooge". It is so amazing! The lyrics and the music composed by...... owh what is his name again?😊😊........ Tuomas Holopainen. His wife Johanna Kurkela is the singer , another beautiful voice!!!! The way this man, this Poet's brain works..... it blows my mind every time, every song. The video is so nice to watch!! Until the next one, see you, bye!!!!
Nightwish uses extreme dynamic. Music is generally defined as the art of arranging sound and silence to create some combination of form, harmony, melody, rhythm, or otherwise expressive content. Not the first gig, but the first tour. Marko only introduced him because he had a little drum intro to shine a bit.

Every song makes me feel like I want to head bang in the instrumental breaks, then whenever someone is singing I just stop and hang on every word. One of the best songs for this is “Song of Myself”.
Well mate you said it all, this band is just the best🇬🇧 when you do the greatest show, please do the Tampere version, they are both good in fact you could do them both with the Tampere one first😊
I have been to numerous concerts in the metal scene , nightwish is easily in the top tier if we talk about quality live, there are some good bands live like powerwolf and some others, nightwish is at the top 1% tho
Kai introduction to the the crowd, beautiful song, I don't think tuomas wrote this against God but against religion dogma the history of man's interpretation God bless
Floor does 2 songs with Avantasia misplaced among the angels and kill the pain away ,maybe you like it,well maybe you willll like it,and the male singer Tobias Sammet has a briljant voice too😊
Marko Introduced him bc it was the year that Yukka left and Kai too over- and this was there first huge concert in Tuomas’s , Marko’s , Kai’s homeland. Floors family was there too. So I think this was his big coming out lol Someone correct me I’m wrong .
Great reaction! You were talking about the unpredictability of Nightwish's songs and amen to that! When I first heard Weak Fantasy, it struck me that I don't think I've ever heard a song where I least expected an acoustic breakdown. Toumas has a black belt in song structures. Thanks for continuing the journey.
It was during the rehearsals/recording of Endless Forms Most Beautiful album that Jukka decided he could no longer continue due to health. He selected his own replacement who is a good friend of his Kai. Jukka continues to work with Nightwish in a behind the scenes capacity. Kai was the drummer for the entire tour.
maybe its time for more awsome. if not reacted to this...guess you are ready. the poet and the pendulum live wembley. Sad story.. can look forward the story behind and put subtitles. Chills all over
Hi Dan may l suggest a reaction you may enjoy.. A British band no longer with us called Fairground Attraction whose lead singer, Eddi Reader is a lady with an amazing voice. She is now a solo artiste. My personal favourite songs are Please don’t ask me to dance, Clare and find my love amongst many others
Marko introduced Kia's solo, he also introduced Tuomas at the start of The greatest show on earth. Not sure if he did anyone else but since your unlocking each song try The Islander from this same gig.
It is not the first concert of Kai. The first time he was announced as a new drummer - 6 August 2014. He was "invited" by Jukka - previous drummer, because Jukka has health troubles, and Kai was a "substitution". And on 15 July 2019 Kai bacame the permanent drummer.
A song agaionst organised rweligion of course. Some labelled it anti-religion without that qualifier. Troy and Tuomas did an interview in which Tuomas explained he was an agnostic atheist rtather than an atheist (if I recall the expression correctly). Comments from band members: MARCO: What comes to the new lyrics, "Weak Fantasy" was the only one thatactually hints at ancient tribal literature We obviously realized that religion is a touchy subject and that we'd have to carefully consider the tone of the lyrics. It's still funny that you can publicly criticize and mock art and politics as much as you want, as well as artists and politicians but when you stick your finger in the hornet's nest of religion.. uh-oh. TROY: We were working on "Weak Fantasy" for quite a while. Tuomas originally used more direct, aggressive metaphors, but in the end, we decided to opt for a more ambiguous tone. Some people might still find "Weak Fantasy" confrontational, but you can have different interpretations as well. The wisdom is in the eye of the beholder TUOMAS: We discussed this stuff with the and for hours on end, and everybody stood behind the lines in Weak Fantasy" for instance. In Nightwish, I have never felt the need to neither rebel nor preach, and that hasn't changed, but if the listener stops to consider different viewpoints because of our music, that's always great There's never enough open, intelligent, and unprejudiced discussion in the world. Manco- There's obviously nothing wrong with leaning a higher power per se. A belief in something supernatural can comfort you and help you get through the day. But its just horrible when people use ancient religions as an excuse for their own utterly condemnable acts or to instigate senseless indiscriminate hatred towards others. Blind fundamentalism seldom leads to anything good, whether you bow to Allah. Jahve, Jesus, the Flying Spaghetti Monster, or something else. TROY: As the wisdom goes, if you could reason with a fundamentalist, there would be no fundamentalists. TUOMAS: It's only during the last years that l've started to question my own religious stance. Why have I been a Lutheran and believed in the kind of God Lutherans do? It's simply because I was born in Finland in the 1970's. In another culture, in another time, there would have been another god above others. In 10th century Denmark, I would have worshipped Odin and Thor. If I'd been born North Korean, I would've been forbidden to believe in any kind of Supreme Being In other words: what you believe in - or what you think you believe in - is based on pure coincidence. TROY: It's baffling, but some of my friends are actually afraid that I will be cast intom the fiery pits of hell. I can only compare these dear friends of mine to chain smokers in this respect: they know it's unhealthy, but they still refuse to quit. I don't understand why people believe in something without any proof, yet laugh at other similar beliefs - I mean, if I were to claim that you can live to be 150 by eating just yoghurt, nobody would believe me. They would ask me for some kind of proof and research findings. Why can't they apply this logic universally? TUOMAS: To be precise, I consider myself an agnostic atheist. I don't believe in God, so that makes me an atheist How do I know that God does not exist? I don't, but neither does anybody else. That's why I am also an agnostic. To confess that you do not know some- thing is actually an intelligent and constructive stance. It makes you humble, unlike a blind belief in something unproven MARCO: We had just returned from an 18-month hiatus, so everybody was itch- ing to make some noise again even to rehearse! It's always interesting to play new material, because new songs are not in muscle memory yet. I'm using a double-neck instrument for "Weak Fantasy" for example, and there's a moment when I have to leave the bass humming, turn on the guitar, and, on a certain eighth note quickly grab the other neck. You have to practise these things quite a bit to be able to play them with confidence.
Kai started filling in for Jukka in 2014 but as time went on Jukka was not getting better so Jukka turned over the rains to Kai his very good friend in 2019 Kai became a full time drummer after being his fill in since 2014
Floor was pregnant w Freya at this show! See Stargazers from Tampere...Floor says Tampere so you'll know how to say it...its impossible to phonetecize for you...bc Finnish is hard (but you're very close!) Yes, Richard Dawkins does many spoken word parts on the Endless Forms Most Beautiful album
Yep, that was Dawkins at the beginning. Tuomas and Troy in particular are fairly militant atheists, but everyone in the band can get behind the message of standing against the dogmatic, harmful certainties of certain types of organised religion.
Not Kai’s first show at all, Jukka had To leave as drummer, but still works in the production crew, due to I’ll health( chronic insomnia - almost no sleep for some years) so he stepped back in 2014 or late 2013(After the world tour was completed that featured the Wacken Open Air concert) I prefer Jukkas’ style and power, but Kai is possibly more accurate? You don’t earn the nickname “ The Human Metronome“ for being inaccurate!😜👀🇬🇧
Heya Daniel , question brother : is it safe to say yet that Tuomas Holopainen is the greatest composer of your lifetime and Floors ability to sing all those different genres in different octaves may be the greatest singer of your existance ... or am I pushing it lol ?
A storytelling breed we are....Floor sings stories with passion, emotion and devotion....
Im a Christian and i love this song. It bashes any religion, authority, or institution that uses fear and lies for control.
Tuomos is just a genius and i love every band member.

me too!

This is a total banger! Easily in my Top 10 Nightwish songs. Fantastic performance. Good reaction. Keep 'em coming!
Thanks for the reaction. One of my favorites.
The most angry one I adore is Master Passion Greed. Never played live but I'd love you to react for that.

🤩👍💥💯🎼
Skin trembling Banger track with huge question mark, on lyricism...
🤘😎 🇫🇮 💙
Stargazers (@Tampere) is a great one as well. It's like an energy booster.
This song kicks you in the teeth in the most welcome fashion.
This song is such badass...
My favorite.
Halfway thru the song…”imma need that intro again guys”. 😂😂😂😂
A really good song
I agree with everything you are saying about the band, and what makes them special. I have felt the same since the beginning. One thing I want to highlight is how Tuomas is a genius with his breaks in the writing. Every song makes me feel like I want to head bang in the instrumental breaks, then whenever someone is singing I just stop and hang on every word. One of the best songs for this is “Song of Myself”.
Masterpiece
Tampere was a very special concert for Floor, because her parents were there.
Well mate you said it all, this band is just the best🇬🇧 when you do the greatest show, please do the Tampere version, they are both good in fact you could do them both with the Tampere one first😊
Lovin these lyrics and song itself is a masterpiece. I was working in this concert. Magical night 🔥🤘❤️🇫🇮
Isn't this amazing !!! its so hard to explain how every song is so different yet a new favorite :)
Unbeateble indeed..❤
I have been to numerous concerts in the metal scene , nightwish is easily in the top tier if we talk about quality live, there are some good bands live like powerwolf and some others, nightwish is at the top 1% tho
Kai introduction to the the crowd, beautiful song, I don't think tuomas wrote this against God but against religion dogma the history of man's interpretation God bless
I love how you burn through their catalog here just so you are able to listen to more songs in your private life 😊
Love that
I like your reactions man ! This song is fantastic .Greetings from nwAse Sweden
Cheers and thanks! Much l9ve!

Hi. Nice comments and reaction. So if you think you are ready... Try Poet and the pendelum.. live in Wembley... It`s just a Masterpiece of Music!

Love this song. Lyrics hit home. I have to be honest, I had to look up necropsy.
'necrocracy' is the word you may want to look up.
@@L3onOfKings truth, I should have looked at the post before I sent it. Autocorrect doesn’t like the word necrocracy. Stupid and embarrassing.

I'm using a double-neck instrument for "Weak Fantasy" for example, and there's a moment when I have to leave the bass humming, turn on the guitar, and, on a certain eighth note
quickly grab the other neck. You have to practise these things quite a bit to be able to play them with confidence.
Tuomas is the Metal Mozart...🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I wouldn’t mind if you also rolled it back to like the last 2 mins of every song lol
Playing keyboard while headbanging… 😂🏆👍‼️
🤣 New favorite? 🤣
Ur new favourite song I guess? 👅
Great moment: Marko switching on his double neck from guitar to bass ( with the B of Beast):

Kai started filling in for Jukka in 2014 but as time went on Jukka was not getting better so Jukka turned over the rains to Kai his very good friend in 2019 Kai became a full time drummer after being his fill in since 2014
rain - rein - reign, the English language can be tricky. You were after the middle one - reins :)
My neck hurts
Floor was pregnant w Freya at this show! See Stargazers from Tampere...Floor says Tampere so you'll know how to say it...its impossible to phonetecize for you...bc Finnish is hard (but you're very close!)
Yes, Richard Dawkins does many spoken word parts on the Endless Forms Most Beautiful album
Yep, that was Dawkins at the beginning. Tuomas and Troy in particular are fairly militant atheists, but everyone in the band can get behind the message of standing against the dogmatic, harmful certainties of certain types of organised religion.
I Miss sancta Terra with floor
Not Kai’s first show at all, Jukka had To leave as drummer, but still works in the production crew, due to I’ll health( chronic insomnia - almost no sleep for some years) so he stepped back in 2014 or late 2013(After the world tour was completed that featured the Wacken Open Air concert) I prefer Jukkas’ style and power, but Kai is possibly more accurate? You don’t earn the nickname “ The Human Metronome“ for being inaccurate!😜👀🇬🇧
It was Richard Dawkins indeed. Who better to introduce this song than the author of "God Delusion" himself.
Heya Daniel , question brother : is it safe to say yet that Tuomas Holopainen is the greatest composer of your lifetime and Floors ability to sing all those different genres in different octaves may be the greatest singer of your existance ... or am I pushing it lol ?
Of my time i would have to say yes. 100%
Tuomos is the Hans Zimmer of Nightwish
Can you still remember how dullard uninspired music was before you found Nightwish?
Kai took almost four years to get to Jukka´s level.
🇬🇧 Norfolk: reports for duty this will be your next favourite 🤩
