So after the TD to McLaurin, the Eagles defense was on the field for just four plays for the rest of the half. Then to open the 2nd half, the Eagles defense was on the sideline because the offense got the ball first. They went down the field and got a field goal. And then when the Eagles defense was back on the field, they forced a turnover on the Commanders 2nd play. The Eagles offense went on to hold the ball for 8 minutes. Yes they only got a field goal out of that 8 minute drive, but the defense was given plenty of time to rest. I won't take away from what Daniels did. He's talented. And our defense definitely played uncharacteristically bad at times (in that Washington stadium. That's important to note). But let's not act like Hurts missing 54 mins of that game didn't effect how we sustain drives and score TDs, which puts the defense back on the field after multiple 3 and outs by the offense, slowly exhausting the defense. We literally never ran a QB sneak on 3rd/4th and 1, and opted to punt, or run some weird plays that weren't even in the gameplan. Let's not act like we stopped scoring TDs once Washington figured out Hurts wasn't returning to the game, changed their defensive gameplan, started putting 8-9 players in the box to stop Saquon, and dared our backup QB to throw the ball (as any smart DC would do) The entire game changed when Hurts went out and Washington fans will never see it that way for some reason. Why won’t Eagles fans ever admit Jayden had 5tds on that #1 defense and had a great game with a game winner against them. It’s always the time of possession excuse which makes no sense because the eagles won the time of possession and held the ball for dam near the entire 3rd quarter.

I won't take away from what Daniels did. He's talented. And our defense definitely played uncharacteristically bad at times (in that Washington stadium. That's important to note).
But let's not act like Hurts missing 54 mins of that game didn't effect how we sustain drives and score TDs, which puts the defense back on the field after multiple 3 and outs by the offense, slowly exhausting the defense. We literally never ran a QB sneak on 3rd/4th and 1, and opted to punt, or run some weird plays that weren't even in the gameplan. Let's not act like we stopped scoring TDs once Washington figured out Hurts wasn't returning to the game, changed their defensive gameplan, started putting 8-9 players in the box to stop Saquon, and dared our backup QB to throw the ball (as any smart DC would do)
The entire game changed when Hurts went out and Washington fans will never see it that way for some reason. Because I'm just "making excuses". It's cool.
