Here is my version of #Doom 2016's "BFG Division" by Mick Gordon. Enjoy!!!
This was a gigantic amount of work. I didn't use any sample from the original song. I recorded and mixed everything from scratch and I also wrote a complex new arrangement on top of it.

This sounds like something you’d hear in a dark souls game.
Imagine that, you have to fight the Doom Slayer and this theme plays..
But you'd lose every time you get near him.

I could see this playing when the Doomslayer learned his son became the icon of sin and his first rampages through hell. This cover carries a tune of grief mixed with fury, which would be perfect for that.

GamePlayMetal yeah. I Think you did pretty well with the build up and not letting parts drag on too long. Honestly, this makes me think of the Doomslayer when he was a night sentinel and the aftermath of the destruction of Argent D'nur. Mock Gordon's version makes me think of the Doomslayer after he was driven insane with grief and anger, because let's face it, the Doomslayer is not sane. No sane being would actively seek to hunt down and kill every single demon in existance. All he has left is his fury, and Mick's version expresses that.
It's interesting that it evokes all this stuff, I was just trying to make it sound good and didn't think about the game that much haha :p
GamePlayMetal Well, just like books, music is open to interpretation, so we all get different things out of it lol.
Actually...now it's been revealed by Hugo Martin that the DoomSlayer is NOT the Betrayer, which means that the Icon of Sin is not the DoomSlayer's son!

I can see the Doom Slayer slicing through a gigantic horde of different types of Demons, using only the crucible, but the crucible changes into different weapons, like an axe, a scythe, a sheild, etc.
Sounds like Heretic or Hexen haha
We need a remake of those games too

For me this sounds like the type of theme an Anime Villain powered by Argent Energy would get in a fight scene, just before the Slayer gets pissed off enough and the true BFG Division plays.

lol yeah it was. I had to make 2 separate projects, one to recreate the original song & sound as best as I could, (and that was not an easy task), and another to create all the arrangements on top of it
Yeah I routinely have to make stuff in 2 projects these days when stuff gets busy. Darn CPU and RAM limitations.

I loved this rendition, but I felt like it was missing a lot of... *punch.*
Do you think you could make a version of this song with stronger bass/brass/drums?
Especially the drums. That's what helped to segment the original song. Here, the "hard edges" of this song seem to be softened a bit too much, so then the various instruments sound like they blend together in a way that feels a bit awkward.
The bass kick coulda been used more, give a real hit to it.
I gutted a lot of the bass because the arrangement is so busy with many more layers than the original. Also I didn't have a great sounding room at the time so I played it safe (too much bass WILL ruin your mix if you're not careful). I could probably add more bass and do it better now.
There was another version that was uploaded which had this over the original, but it was recently removed because it wasn't credited. Which is a shame, because I kind of preferred it.
'As he kicks in the door, tearing off a demons jaw, slams it into another demons eyes, then proceeds to collapse the door previously kicked in, sealing the demons in with him, the Doom Marine let's out a bellow in a voice that makes even the most hardened Baron shake in fear: *'Im not locked in here with you, you're locked in here WITH ME'* and the last sounds heard from the room before screaming filled the air was the revving of a chainsaw and laughter that would have turned even Satan himself to pray for mercy....
