Massive Collector Of Everything Shows Me His Stuff

- I am very fortunate to know serial entrepreneur and master inventor Jay Walker and to have spent time in his magnificent library of the history of human imagination. As you will see in the video, this collection is extraordinarily broad and yet very precise-dinosaurs, space memorabilia, inventions, early Bibles, and original bill of rights, and so much more. As I say in my video, there are 2 kinds of people in the world. Collectors. And those who think collectors are insane. I am a collector. I hope that many viewers of this video also collectors and enjoy seeing what Jay Walker has collected. The library grows weekly as Jay spends a good portion of his time searching the world for new examples of human imagination as he defines it. He is generous and has students and historians and others visit the library on a regular basis, although it is connected to his home in Connecticut. Experts would say that it is one of the greatest private libraries in the world.

Just left a 10k check in a frame? Must be nice
I wonder what's between the couch cushions?
He may have been holding out for a bigger payment. And he probably sold it to Jay for more than 10k.
If you use mobile deposit with a picture of the check you don't have to surrender it to the bank. I would hope that's what he did. You would only know if he signed the back.
@@lponm I dont think they had that back when this happened.
Space Ghost 1%ers
I bet he’s tough to shop for.
*_THAT'S ONE LIBRARY I'D LOVE TO CHECK OUT._*
I'm a collector but this guy takes it to another level. Good luck to him if he has the time to sort and catalogue it all.
"Y'all seem weird to me." Awesome comment, amazingly delivered, well caught on film. Great collection, great video.
Can you imagine taking any one of these items into Rick from pawn stars, his head would explode and then offer you 50 bucks and say that he is taking a big risk. 😁
lmao
I’ll give you $60 for the 10000 check. “I have to frame it, it might sit for awhile.”
That's the truth!
I take all the risk
He’s such a well organized hoarder
Your boys are so well-behaved and adorable! Thanks for another fascinating video. 🥰
Im guessing the kids would bring their future kids asking the owners future kids "Now where are the historic Nintendo & x'box games?.
This is a man cave for intellectuals.
This is incredible! Your kids made me feel like a kid again through this and I'm very appreciative for that, thanks David!😅
Wait...this guy has an original Codex?!?! Holy. I bought a reprint a few years ago. Such an amazing piece of imagination put onto paper.
I too am a collector. My family were hoarders, but they hoarded cool stuff. Going through our old plantation home in Mississippi before selling it, we found unbelievable levels of cool stuff. Tried to keep the coolest items, but now I want ALL of it back! Must keep The Precious. Hehe. Alas, I just don't have the places to put it, so they had to go. Sad
This is the library in my head. You keep great company, David. 😍
"If you make a knife that has everything in it, it really has nothing."
Made me think...
So wholesome. I’d be surprised if he wasn’t a history teacher! RUclips algorithm blesses us again by recommending another great video 👍🏽
The difference between a hoarder and a collector? Focus and organization
More like poor vs. rich
@@wronggg No.
@@liamc1102 Great point, I never thought of it that way before.
Many successful people have to be organized my friend. I'm very familiar with it myself.
Liam Collier so you’re saying rich people = organized and poor people = unorganized
What a wealth of knowledge! He's no where close to overwhelmed by all the thoughts he has flying through his head lol.
The passion not only in collecting....but also the passion to talk about his collection....that's the MOST important.
Wow that's an incredible room
I have to say this is the most amazing collection Ive ever seen. This is truly next level collecting.
This was amazing to watch. He did a great job of explaining the objects to the kids
His children are the luckiest people on the planet. I also think I found my life goal. I couldn’t even imagine a place this beautiful could exist before. So full of knowledge and human ingenuity.
Really it's like this gentleman has his own museum. He is very knowledgable on all his exhibits. Very impressive!
Man: "Do you know what that is?"
Kid:(with confidence)"It's code decoder."
Man: "good guess."
Did anyone else imagine a young Jeff Goldblum. Dude had me captivated, and I'm 48, lol.
I learned so much watching this thank you.
That was totally awesome, he’s such a good storyteller
That is one incredible collection. Thanks for sharing, Dave.
Pretty awesome stuff.
Like that the kids in this video are enthusiastic to learn.
What a great guy! Thank you for sharing this with us!
Thanks for filming and sharing with us!
Awesome collection. Love to see and talk to him, Amazing. He is great at talking to young people.❤❤❤
Loved this video as I watched it go felt like a kid. I don't know if there ever are tours for the public but he has knowledge that hopefully he wants to pass on. A RUclips channel would be perfect. Then no one could accidentally break anything
What an astounding collection! And he is such a great teacher!
Very cool David thank you for sharing this with us
David, I’ve been watching for several months now and it seems you’ve been hitting out of the park for decades. This is authentic entertainment.
Thank you Julian.

I love this channel and your storytelling . thanks David
I aspire to be able to spread knowledge like this. Thank you so much for posting about something I have never seen before!
This is my favourite video from you sir. You're right he's an amazing story teller and the things he's collected are invaluable because they're souvenirs of time and marvels of the human mind.
Also when he talked about that book i though that's something I'd buy how did more people not want it.
I'm jealous of you getting to spend 4 hours there. I hope his collection and your collection are valued and taken the best care of even after you.
Thank you for your comment and compliment Bisma.

That was such a beautiful video. Thank you
I have a screenshot of this library I saved years ago. There was no description for the image when I saved it and now thanks to this video I got to “explore” it. Thank you.
10:41 your kids are troopers.
I'm now imagining planning my next vacation around visiting Jays library.
Interesting man; like him! Wonderful place; would like to look through his book collection! You’re interesting , too, dear 🧐! The kids seem to love it! Thanks!
I'm 41 and just learned a bunch of stuff I've never heard before. Very cool collection!
Love that guy! Filling his curiosity to the brim!!
That's amazing, I would love to be there. Thanks for sharing it. This is exactly what RUclips should be about.
This is wonderful! :)
That library is so gorgeous.
He is like doctor who or something
Your documentaries are priceless
The most interesting collection, that I ever saw.
Love love this channel.
I thought my library was full! Very cool! A museum in the true sense of the word. The muses would be proud.
So succinct but such a great point too David @13:48.
What a stunning and unique collection. As you mention around 13:09, I agree collecting interesting items is more of a personality trait that develops early, often long before the disposable millions exist to afford such splendid items like in the video. Coming from another collector since below the age of 10, this was a fascinating and wonderful video to watch and truly inspiring... I too spend a good portion of my free time looking for the next interesting item for my dedicated barn- uh, room, always learning new things and meeting new people on the way.
It's a great and enriching way to spend one's time.
Great vid amazing library! I shall start collecting
Love this!
You’ve just earned a new subscriber I wasn’t expecting to watch this video the whole way through but you had good camera skills and the editing kept the video interesting all throughout
Thank you for sharing sir.
I clicked on this video thinking it was a quick watch, but man i got intrigued. Jay's library is awesome
WOW!! I want to visit *that* museum!
I wish I had the opportunity to go into his library and just listen to him.
Yes sir that is a amazing collection , best of luck on your travels sir.
I like it a lot ! I’m ready for my visit…😌thank you for the video.
From Sunny 😎 California 🌞
fabrice.
Guy seems humble and has the patients to explain his items to people who may not get it or appreciate collecting.
Amazing collection, wow
Very cool Mr. Hoffman! I love your videos and way of preserving history. As I'm typing this message I hear you have a place in Maine; I'm from Fryeburg myself. Last but not least you have a beautiful family, take care and keep the content coming.
I don't have a place in Maine any longer, Ben. but I spent 25 years living in Rockport. Wonderful place. Wonderful people. Couldn't continue to make a living there so I had to leave. but that's another story.
David Hoffman-filmmaker
Truly fascinating! If I was infinitely rich.. my library would be just as epic
Wouldn't be surprised if he's got his hands on an Infinity Stone. 😂
“BEAUTIFUL! Beyond compare...”
this is awesome.
That´s an incredible collection, really nice eye for detail.
Truly amazing.
Love this video !!! Feels like I’m there
This guy is really intelligent & is a great teacher.
Delightful video
This is amazing :D
Ugh.....that library room has been my dream since I was able to read. It would be located within a big art studio right in the center like a giant cube.
Jay had parents with a great sense of humor.
Amazing! What an interesting dude.
Brilliant film and what a great collection of interesting stuff . I have always been a bit of a collector... my kids call it hoarding lol
What a great story.
Would be fantastic to look around this place and take it all in.
Thanks algorithm, this was very interesting.
Good job! I have a private library that gives public service. I came across this one and loved it! I may try one when I have my own house.
Thanks.
This guy is awesome.
Great lesson in the Swiss Army knife.
Thanks!
I am so glad that you saw this one Raven. This guy is incredible and the library is something I will never forget. In our own way, each one of us has our own small library of things that matter.
David Hoffman filmmaker
@@DavidHoffmanFilmmaker I keep this one🤗 it's been in my library since the first time I saw it.
Nice!
