Good choice! Thank you for diving far into Mr. Big. This is a power ballad. "To Be With You" is a pure acoustic folk ballad. "Addicted To That Rush" is a rocker. My favorite from Mr. Big as the rocker "Green Tinted Sixties Mind".
Love love Mr. big. Eric Martin has such a rocking bluesy voice. My fav songs of theirs are from their “Lean into it” album- Green tinted sixties mind, my kinda woman, CDFf lucky this time, Alive and Kickin’. Also other great ballads- Just take my heart, Anything for you and Had Enough.
I've loved them since their first album. Just checked one off the bucket list last month and saw them live for the first time. As I've said before, you must do "Green Tinted Sixties Mind", "Daddy, Brother, Lover, Little Boy", "Alive and Kicking", "Big Love" or "Had Enough". Kicking band. One of my FAVE voices of the era. ❤
Paul Gilbert was using a new guitar pedal in this song that made his guitar sound like violins. Real violins at the beginning of the song, but the rest are his guitar.
You need to go back and rewatch your reaction to "To Be With You" like I just did. It's one of my favorites of your reaction videos! The look on your faces is priceless, as are your comments. "To Be With You" is one of the very best songs of the 90s - or any decade!
Great band. Billy Sheehan is the goat when it comes to playing Bass. Played with so many iconic bands. Need to react to The Glorious Sons - a mix of retro and new rock - takes you back to the 80s with a 21st century vibe. Brett Emmons has an incredible voice. The acoustic version of “Heavy” gives you chills. “Sawed Off Shotgun” is another iconic song and more a relevant song with present times
Their best song is called "Green Tinted Sixties Mind." In 2009, the original lineup reunited. You should check out their live version of "Green Tinted Sixties Mind" from 2009 at Budokan. Their drummer developed health issues shortly after that tour, but they were so good for that show. Paul Gilbert was my first guitar hero as a young player. He is extremely highly regarded. The bass player is also an absolute legend. Nobody can really replace Pat Torpey on drums for that band. He had a sound.
You all do realize that Mr. Bigg sings more than ballads? Maybe check out songs like “daddy brother lover, little boy“ or “Colorado bulldog“ “green tinted 60s mind“ or “addicted to that rush“. I know you have checked out more by them, but, it just always feels like reaction channels, pigeonhole bands, because their biggest hits were ballads. That’s a music industry thing, not a thing, supported by true fans of a group.
I need to listen more of them, because I think I am mostly familiar with one, ‘To Be With You’, which I really love!❤️ I love that video and I always feel like he is quite swoon-worthy when singing that song!☺️☺️ This song is really great too!! I really love watching you guys react to songs throughout my memories!!❤❤❤
Jay & Amber, You’ll love Lake Street Dive’s songs "Hypotheticals”, “You Go Down Smooth”, and “Nobody's Stopping You Now”!!!! (They are playing at Madison Square Garden Sep 14!) The great voice of Rachael Price & talented musicians and harmonies!! They all sing and 4 of them are the songwriters!!! This US based band frequently tours in North America, Australia, and Europe. Time for an Indie Band!! Also great older songs “Use Me Up” and “Bad Self Portraits”.
Fun fact - The real violin you hear in this song is from the intro. Everything else comes from Paul Gilbert's guitar using a Guitar Synthesizer. My favorite band next to the Beatles. :) Thanks guys!
I've been a fan of Mr. Big since they first hit the scene in late 1988. I was a Senior in high school, teaching myself guitar, and Paul's playing blew my mind. It helped that the band made great, catchy tunes. Their second album, "Lean Into It" is pretty much all killer, no filler-- you can practically throw a dart at the tracklist and hit a banger. It's a shame their brand of music was on the way out right at the time they were hitting their songwriting stride, at least here in America. They continued (and continue to this day) to be HUGE in Japan, and have recently been on their final farewell tour with everyone but the late, great Pat Torpey on drums (rest in peace). There is so much from their discography to check out. My personal recommendations, in no particular order: Stay Together - Not released in America, but a big hit in Japan, and a rocking tune. Just Take My Heart - A great ballad from Lean Into It with an amazing guitar intro -- Stick to either the audio/album version or the Live at Budakon 2009 reunion version, otherwise you might miss the beautiful intro Big Love - From their self-titled debut album. Soulful, groovy tune with some smooth guitar/bass interplay throughout. Rock N Roll Over - From the same album as above. Straight ahead rocker of a tune, with some flaming guitar work, especially during the outro. Take Cover - A heavy, moody song from Bump Ahead, driven by one of Pat's most iconic drum parts, and some powerful vocals from Eric. Great tune and great video.
You guys should out these songs. Green tinted sixties mind, Take Cover, undertow, Alive and kicking, Strike like lightening. All awesome songs I think you guys will love. 😎❤️👌🎸 They began in LA in 1988, their genres are Rock, Heavy Metal, Glam Rock, Arena Rock, Power Pop and more. The band went on hiatus following the death of the drummer and co-founder Pat Torpey, who passed away in 2018 from complications related to Parkinson's disease. They did a farewell tour this seems like the right way to do it", the bassist/vocalist Billy Sheehan told in a press release. The Big finish in south America, Europe and the U.S. the first batch of shows throughout the states started in January 12 2024 in Houston, Texas at the Rise Rooftop.
You need to do their harder songs. Alive and kicking is a good one. The harder songs bring out billy sheehan more. And he’s arguably the greatest rock bassist ever
I don't understand how come Shawn Phillips was well known all around the world in the 70s, but at the same time almost unkown in the USA, even if he's from Texas. He played sitar on Donovan recordings. Here in Québec, everybody remember "woman". "Ballad Of Casy Deiss" is still one of my all time favorite songs. His four albums from the beginning of the 70s are his best, even if he got over 20 albums on his credit. Very distinctive music mixing many styles. Thanks for reading me.
Eric Martin’s voice is just as good live. You can’t believe someone can sing like that. And he is also a very nice guy, with a great sense of humor. I have seen and chatted with him at a number of shows. Very approachable.
Speaking of groups you have not hit for many many moons we offer you Blood Sweat and Tears and their song "Lucretia MacEvil"! Go ahead, take a chance on it why don't you? If nothing else the title will make you curious!
Yes , true, I remember that it was written on the cassette of the album, by the band themselves. I bought the cassette when the album was released, more than 30 years back.
Really enjoy your channel. Great old tune I know you'd both like, "Gotta hold on to this feeling' by Jr Wallker and the All Stars. Soulfull jammin with a Sax on the lead and great vocals and harmony.
Eric Martin IS one of the greatest singers, and someone who has been totally underrated, Mr Big is one of the TOP 5 MOST TALENTED bands of the 80s, period! This band was and still is a MAJOR influence on me, every band i was in as a teen, was ALWAYS influenced by Mr Big, and I was influenced by singer Eric Martin.
# 158 PLEASE REACT TO THE SONG BLACK and WHITE from 1972 BY THE BAND THREE DOG NIGHT. You're gonna love the lyrics...not to mention the cowbell. IT WAS PART OF OUR HIPPIE MOVEMENT OF THE LATE 60's EARLY 70's TO TRY AND UNIFY EVERYONE🔴🟠🟢🔵🟣🟤
So well said Amber!! This song is fantastic.... Please please please hit up *Addicted To That Rush* as your next Mr. Big tune!! J is gonna love it, and I believe you will too Amber. 😁 @RobSquadReactions
You haven't checked another great band similar to Mr Big: Enuff Z´Nuff. I think their biggest hit was "Mother´s Eyes" (1991). The song is even More relevant now.
Can you guys do State of Independence. Donna Summer leads with support from Lionel Richie, Dionne Warwick, Michael Jackson, Christopher Cross, James Ingram, Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald and Stevie Wonder. There is a video of the actual recording somewhere. Otherwise, there is a live version, with her daughter.
Rob and Amber, got to do some Shooting Star (the band, not the song). Start with studiio version of Last Chance or Hang On for Your Life. Come on midwestern 70s/80s rockers.
I am so happy that you have found and like Mr Big! I just saw them in concert last month! Check out Daddy, Brother, Lover, Little Boy. Green Tinted Sixties Mind. And maybe a live clip like Wild World or Thirty Days in the Hole!
Mr. Big one of the best 80's rock bands. Don't forget to check out Damn Yankees again !! There song come again with Tommy Shaw on lead vocals is amazing along with a great guitar riff and hard hitting drums .
I just listened to this killer ass song, you guys most definitely need to check out. It's called " Killing Floor" by Slash featuring Brian Johnson. Steven Tyler plays the harmonica in the video.
Will you do another Elvis Presley song if so may I request”Trying to get to you”…!! One of many of my favorite Elvis songs but the vocals on this one is amazing on the 68 special.
Want to see a performance to blow you away when you realize what they are doing. Do Unlucky Morpheus Cadaver/Revadac with sheet music Jay will love the Violin
At some point check into NF's music, Nathan Feuerstein, singer/rapper, his music/lyrics have depth, not typical rap that is so common. There is what is called the NF Journey which is a playlist of related songs that build from one to another across albums. Some of those songs easily stand on their own outside the Journey, "Happy" or "Paralzed" are a couple of them. If you wanted to try starting right off at the beginning look at "Mansion". His topics are about human struggles, mental health, important stuff, I'm pressed to think of any more important muisc that has been produced in the past decade.
Mr. Big voice is up there!! But the guitar player was also "Awesome" You know I heard a record today that a lot of people reacted to.. Michael Jackson "Who Is it" OMG Jay the BASS will keep your head bobbing through the whole song. It's a real Deep song👏🏽👏🏽👍🏽✌🏽
Jay like hair bands....best female hair band ever. Aldious Dominator live Radiant A O East. Amber will love these girls fast and Melodic and high energy performance.
Not to change the subject but next Female Friday check out ‘ The Warning’…. It’s a f rabbit hole you want to go down… if Van Halen, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath had a baby all girl rock band… the Warning would be it !!
For me, the next song should be "Had Enough." Another option is "Wind Me Up." I'd also still recommend that you react to the OTHER supergroup that formed at about the same time...they are called Badlands, and I'd start with a song called "Winter's Call." God bless!!
Good choice! Thank you for diving far into Mr. Big. This is a power ballad. "To Be With You" is a pure acoustic folk ballad. "Addicted To That Rush" is a rocker. My favorite from Mr. Big as the rocker "Green Tinted Sixties Mind".
Ya green tinted sixties mind is absolutely fantastic!
Trash
Hell Yeah...
The live version from 1992 San Fransisco for the best version-- watching Paul play that guitar part live is magical.
That's an amazing song - written by Paul Gilbert.
Love Mr. Big! Eric’s voice just draws you in.
Billy Sheehan on Bass. Technically the best Rock Bassist in the world. Paul Gilbert, guitar virtuoso discovered at age 16
The next Mr. Big song should be "Green Tinted Sixties Mind". They talk about Janis Joplin in the lyrics & we all know you love her!
Mr Big Just take my heart, another ballad.
They were just in OKC Feb 24, time to go see the bands you check out. Creed will be there Nov 2nd, Shinedown July 30th.
My fave
Love love Mr. big. Eric Martin has such a rocking bluesy voice. My fav songs of theirs are from their “Lean into it” album-
Green tinted sixties mind, my kinda woman, CDFf lucky this time, Alive and Kickin’. Also other great ballads- Just take my heart, Anything for you and Had Enough.
RIP Pat Torpey. Drummer.
😢
😢
RIP Pat Torphy (drumms) 😢
Yessss, another of my faves!! Eric Martin's voice is truly underrated. Glad you guys are giving him the credit he deserves :)
When you are invited to participate in Avantasia, your voice is surely n o t underrated. 🤘
My favorite ballad from Mr. Big is just take my heart
strike like lighting, Big love and just take my heart, also undertow, shine, oooohh so many goood songs!!!
Paul Gilbert was using a new guitar pedal in this song that made his guitar sound like violins. Real violins at the beginning of the song, but the rest are his guitar.
Eric's voice always stand out and amazing. I interviewed him 20 years ago and he's a hilarious guy.

Billy was in a local Buffalo band Talas in the late 70's early 80's. They are on YT.
Green Tinted Sixties Mind is amazing along with Just Take My Heart
Love me some Mr. Big❤ That voice had me from the jump!
Awesome! Paul Gilbert; the guitar player, is my number 2 influence next to Eddie Van Halen. Mr. Big's Lean Into It album was my very first CD also!
Are you aware that Paul Gilbert did an interview with Rick Beato on his channel not long ago? If not, you should check it out.
Great Band. RIP Pat Torpey, another good reaction 👋
I looked just like the lead singer when I was in high school no lie hair face and all. They called me Mr big guy
"Green Tinted Sixties Mind" That's all I'm going to say.
Touring now for the last time. Next song should be “Daddy, brother, lover or your little boy”
But with open eyes
My favorite video of theirs is "Just Take My Heart" I recently found the singer Eric Martin had solo albums in the 80s. I found a few here on youtube.
All right my babies.... I was fortunate to see these guys live in concert. This band has a great catalog to choose from ‼️💯🔥🎸🥁🎤🎻🤘🏻😎👍🏻
They are kicking off a huge tour starting the 17th in Europe and hitting the U.S by May.

Mr. Big " Shine". You should try that one too.

First time hearing this song but enjoying it as well as you two as always. I love hearing music through your ears!
Never heard this one before - loved it and that voice!!!
Didn't realized you've reacted to my favorite MR. BIG song
Guitarist Paul Gilbert started a band called Racer X, recommend checking out the song Street Lethal.
I've been a fan of Mr. Big since they first hit the scene in late 1988. I was a Senior in high school, teaching myself guitar, and Paul's playing blew my mind. They already did Addicted To That Rush
@@benkraze3103 Oh yes I just realised, I'll remove it from the list.
You need to do their harder songs. Alive and kicking is a good one. The harder songs bring out billy sheehan more. And he’s arguably the greatest rock bassist ever
Brilliant group! One for Amber is Itchycoo Park by Small Faces for that 60's vibe.

Guys you did a reaction to Bobby Womack recently, you just got to do a reaction to " Tell me why" by him. It's one of my favourites.
Mr.Big is one of the most underrated bands around, definitely deserve more reactions
Try "untertow" oder "Colorado Bulldog"... as good as all the first once!
Eric Martin’s voice is just as good live. You can’t believe someone can sing like that. And he is also a very nice guy, with a great sense of humor. I have seen and chatted with him at a number of shows. Very approachable.

That wasn't a violin btw! That was a guitar synth. That was ALL guitar!
One of my all time favorite bands great video as ever guys ❤️
"Just Take My Heart" & "Green Tinted Sixties Mind"... and the violin is not an actual violin but a a type of guitar effects.
I love Eric's voice..great band!
React to
"ADDICTED TO THAT RUSH". (official video)
It's mind-blowing song and performance by Mr Big
Keep up the good work 👍🏻
Not the original Mr Big, the original Mr Big was an English band from the 70's check out their song ( Romeo)
A band with tons of great songs! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Really enjoy your channel. Great old tune I know you'd both like, "Gotta hold on to this feeling' by Jr Wallker and the All Stars. Soulfull jammin with a Sax on the lead and great vocals and harmony.
Goin' Where The Wind Blows
Beautiful song 🔥
Heartsfield: Another Man Down, Magic Mood, Racin' The Sun. From the albums Foolish Pleasures and The Wonder Of It All. I'll keep asking.

Their song "Take Cover" is another great one.
You haven't checked another great band similar to Mr Big:

Nice bit of mellow rock. The lead singer is really good , powerful and passionate-Colin Ward
Rob and Amber, got to do some Shooting Star (the band, not the song). Start with studiio version of Last Chance or Hang On for Your Life. Come on midwestern 70s/80s rockers.
His voice gives me chills, fantastic pick 😊
Mr. Big !👍
I am so happy that you have found and like Mr Big! I just saw them in concert last month! Check out Daddy, Brother, Lover, Little Boy. Green Tinted Sixties Mind. And maybe a live clip like Wild World or Thirty Days in the Hole!
Please the band Lynch mob. The guitar player is George Lynch from Dokken.
You two work hard!
Amber and Jordan you may like the Staple Singers and their song "I'll Take You There". Keep up with the good work 😎👍
They have a bunch of hits. RIP Pat Torphy their drummer. Eric Martin's voice is a male Gladys Knight
Paul Gilbert was trying to play 'Your Song' by Elton John on piano but instead came up with this song.
You guys haven't done Firehouse in 2 years. I suggest the song Lovers Lane. It totally rocks 🎸.
Try 'Romeo' by Mr Big from 1977.
Not the same group. This Mr. Big started in 1989
Daddy, brother, lover, little boy is a rockin song. Have to do a live version.
Mr. Big one of the best 80's rock bands.
Don't forget to check out Damn Yankees again !!
There song come again with Tommy Shaw on lead vocals is amazing along with a great guitar riff and hard hitting drums .
When I first saw the notification, I thought it was gonna be "Nothing But A G Thang" 😆
I just listened to this killer ass song, you guys most definitely need to check out. It's called " Killing Floor" by Slash featuring Brian Johnson. Steven Tyler plays the harmonica in the video.
..."Class of 76"...
Will you do another Elvis Presley song if so may I request”Trying to get to you”…!! One of many of my favorite Elvis songs but the vocals on this one is amazing on the 68 special.
You guys have got to hear the song Say I Won't by Mercy Me. It is such a great song of triumph and perseverance in the face of tragedy.
Want to see a performance to blow you away when you realize what they are doing.
Do Unlucky Morpheus Cadaver/Revadac with sheet music
Jay will love the Violin
You guys should check out the song Drops of Jupiter by Train. Jay will love the violins in that song.
You guys should listen to the song Love and Affection by Nelson. It is the song that got them the record deal.
I think Amber will love the song Relate by for King and Country. It has a positive meaning and a sick beat.
Jimmy Rogers AKA the blue yodeler "Mule Skinner Blues" circa 1930's died of TB very sad. Tried to add a picture of him but it wouldnt let me.
Sensacional 👏👏👏👏👏
Paul Gilbert is such a brilliant guitarist, you should try some of his solo stuff like, Scarified and Fuzz Universe or Donkey Kong.
Amber loves ballads, Jay loves violin.
Do Aldious Marigold live
You have, have, have to listen to "Green Tinted Sixties Mind"! It's a rocking song with amazing 4 part harmony vocals.
At some point check into NF's music, Nathan Feuerstein, singer/rapper, his music/lyrics have depth, not typical rap that is so common. try Green-Tinted Sixties Mind
For me, the next song should be "Had Enough." Another option is "Wind Me Up." I'd also still recommend that you react to the OTHER supergroup that formed at about the same time...they are called Badlands, and I'd start with a song called "Winter's Call."
God bless!!
You guys should check out the song Everybody's Free to Wear Sunscreen by Baz Luhrmann. You have never done anything like this before on the channel.
