In today's tutorial we share how to install the Hansgrohe Talis Select bathroom faucet. The Talis Select is a single handle push button faucet
Single handle faucets are easier to clean and fix than double handled faucets.
The first step with the Talis Select is to add the rubber centering ring under the faucet body.
Slide the faucet down through the sink and secure it to the underside with the metal nut and screwdriver.
Add the drain to the sink and use 100% silicone to it and the sink for a water tight seal. This isn't in the directions but we found that silicone is better than plumbers putty.
Also apply silicone to the drain body where it connects with the metal pipe. Once that's installed the popup can be assembled.
We like the Talis Select popup because it has a hair catch that prevents hair from clogging the p-trap.
Attach the Talis Select water supply lines to the shutoff valves and assembly the p-trap to the drain in the wall.

Definitely a single handle faucet, much easier to operate and replace. Thank you for posting your video, it was very helpful. I tend to handle many "do it yourself" projects around my home. I have saved a lot of money by doing some things myself. Please keep posting.
Single handle all the way! Easier to clean, more modern. Great vid, thanks.
Thanks Elsa. I agree with you
Ok, I put in the hansgrohe logis loop faucet. Your video was *extremely* helpful, since the Hansgrohe instructions are poor for a DIYer. I've put in faucets before, so not a rank beginner. The drain mechanism was the same. I wasn't able to adjust the temperature. It's somewhat different than yours. The allen wrench didn't work very easily, though I finally got it apart, but needed to get done so I just left it alone. I'll try again when there's time.Thank you for the great video.
I think your instructions are great. As a woman, I could install it based on watching the vid. But I am into the decorative side, also. The company might want to consider that. Love your vids and learn much. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Ann, appreciate your kind words. They have other faucets that might be a better fit for your style. We liked this one because it was a single handle and it matched the shower mixing valve trim. Hope you're having a good start to the weekend!
Single handle looks sleeker and space saving and easier.
Really great video, you see to have covered all the details, peace and God Bless
That is a really neat faucet, thanks for the video.
Thanks Dennis, it has a lot of cool features.
That's a nice faucet, it's also a bit out of our price zone, for a second bathroom in a fairly rustic camp. However, it's a great video, and many thanks
Single! Cool faucet.
Great video
How's it going it's been a year or two since I've talked with you. I've got a China version of this it's a little different but you've given me some ideas thank you for sharing God bless bye for now Ken
Hey, I saw that leak at 8:45, seems to be coming from main drain hole....doooh....take it all apart or just tighten more?
Hi i am a 10 Your old construction worker for my dad's company hes been teaching me since I was 4 years old I have Milwaukee 18v with the Milwaukee packout

Home Repair Tutor thank you I have to go to work with my dad see you later
Hi, was this rubber gasket shown in 1:27 in the box? I do not have any in my. Any ideas where I can find any or what should I do in such case?
@1:52 you say you tighten it down with a screw driver and a "provided accessory"? I'm removing one of these and i don't have the accessory.. how to remove?
I have one a single faucet BUT the two water lines are falling apart so do i need to buy a whole new single faucet all over again?
I have a Hansgrohe Metris single handle bathroom faucet arriving tomorrow. I hope the drain mechanism is similar. Thanks for a good video. Can you use silicone on Corian?
oops, it's Logis Loop, not Metris.
We currently have a double in our bathroom, however I would much more prefer a single....expecially one like that, I really like the look and function of it.
You’d like this faucet Paul. It’s was easy to install.
I have the same faucet for my bathroom sink. It recently does not activate when I push it down anymore it seems stuck. I have to push it down and pull it up to activate the water . Anyway to fix this?
What if you want to change the drain in future doesn't the silicone make it harder to take it out.
Thank you for this video!
Hope it was helpful, many thanks
How do you replace a supply line? Since the side that connects to the faucet is inside the faucet.
I prefer double and have the Moen brand with a lifetime warranty , Moen have so far given me the replacement elements at no charge, the elements last approx 10-12 years and are easy to replace . My house is 30+ years . However a single unit is nice to have
Thanks Geert for mentioning the warranty. A lot of companies will provide the cartridges for free if you know the model number of the faucet.
My beef with that faucet is it doesn’t appear to have any way to adjust the volume of water. Only on or off. Am I right?
That's correct Mike, one downside to this setup.
Would prefer the single handle faucet which is more versatile to handle.
Hi
I have been using a single handle since 1969 and would not change even if it was free
Thanks Alicia, the simplicity of one handle is just nice. And it makes repairs easier!
Nice faucet.. I'd rather a single.
Thanks Bax, ditto. Way easier to install.
How is this faucet doing 5 years later?
Single. In fact, my existing single is leaking. I checked out your video to see if I could replace it myself. Apparently, I can. If not I’ll come to scold you.
I have a similar problem. Any tips on how you fixed yours? It appears to be coming from where the cold and hot water lines feed to the faucet but drips from underneath the sink cabinet.
Single
too much silicone.
love your videos!
You went all out on the nice faucet, but why the cheap drain assembly with all the joints.
If the pipes were exposed Ermanno we would have used a chrome setup. But these pipes are hidden under the sink
Its not cheap. It's practical.
single because it is so much easier to clean
I like double handle cuz here in the desert I don't want any warmth to the water.
Good point M Gm, understand your perspective. Where do live?
Home Repair Tutor Arizona. It's not hot now but I have an aversion to warm or hot water. Some of the houses I've lived in had pipes on the outside or they were uninsulated and you turn on the cold water and it is burning hot!
Wow, we have the exact opposite problem in Pittsburgh...well, at least in the winter. Never thought about the desert and how that could make the pipes and water too hot. Makes sense
Single handle.
Ditto, how've you been Ticky66MN?
Says he had double faucet yet the the counter is cut for the single faucet, so he’s full of it.
It's not an attractive faucet.
I really like it Ann, but everyone has their own taste. The push button makes it easy to operate and that's something I'm giving more thought to as I get older.
Worst ASMR video. JK. Will all that silicone application create difficulties to disassemble in the future when I want to change out the faucet?
