I love coming and binging your videos when I’m trying to be more minimal and save money, you inspire the good side of me that is better for the planet and my pocket. The other side of me wants expensive perfumes and other ridiculously expensive stuff I don’t need! Thanks for being a positive influence on me! You’re the best!
I have really been focusing on eating in the house more this year. We save more, can afford higher quality ingredients and feel better. I feel like over time its little tweaks that just add up;)
YES! It's so true even when it comes to not purchasing highly processed food items, the money you save with that you can spend it on fresh produce and get more creative with meals.
I agree! I stopped wearing waterproof makeup and long lasting 24 hour makeup because it broke me out. I discovered that it never really gets removed. Now if the makeup doesn’t come off with just a gentle cleanser, then I don’t want it. It may melt off but at least I know that it’s coming off easily and not clogging my pores. 👩🏽 🌷 🌺
If you have any more simple recipes, would you consider doing a video about them?? I'd love to hear frugal cooking ideas. Thank you for the great video!!
I also quit the waterproof or long wear makeup. Last year I tried tubing mascara and it is SO easy to wash off, dont even need a cleanser! And it doesnt smudge throughout the day (unless you get your face wet)
Your skin looks amazing Kyra, I use CEREVE unscented cleanser , but it’s getting very pricey , actually all my skin care is unscented, I really don’t like fragrance
Hey Kyra, I've just wanted to comment again and tell you that you're a wonderful human being! I really enjoy the topics you're talking about. I will be going to uni again this year, but for that to happen, i need to reduce my working hours. That obv means a reduced income, so I'm finding all your videos (esp about money saving) super helpful!! Thanks for all you do x
Great video! I do not buy pre-cut fruits or veggies and harsh cleaners! Since I got my puppy he is my baby I want to make sure I am not using anything that can cause him or myself harm. Also thank you for the simple pancake recipe I will have to give that a try.
Kyra, you’re correct about dryer sheets and fabric softener. That’s why it’s not recommended to use on towels because it stops the fabric’s ability to absorb water. Have you ever tried making your own laundry detergent powder or use Dr. Bronners which is a liquid Castile soap? I’ve used both for decades. Best wishes!
I love these videos. I am not buying foundation, concealer, contour.bronzer, setting spray or face powder anymore. I used to buy all the makeup “things” and now I mainly just use mineral sunscreen and sometimes wear eyeshadow.
Great video ❤ in our household we don’t buy diced, pre cut, pre prepped veggies and fruits as they’re always expensive than buying regular produce. we don’t buy bottled water because we live in Scotland and tap water is among the cleanest in the world. We don’t buy candy/sweets, and only stick to unsalted nuts for snacking. We always buy in season fruits and vegetables so since summer is approaching, we lean more towards grapes, watermelon, strawberries as they are sweeter and refreshing. We also stopped buying fabric softener as they wreck the fabric and the washing machines, I only stick to adding baking soda or vinegar whenever needed. One thing we stopped buying for years is cookies and any on the counter pastries/bakeries, they tend to have loads of Soy which causes hormonal disturbances, instead we stick to preparing pastries at home with clean ingredients.
Thank you🤍! Your choices not only benefit your health and finances but also contribute positively to the environment. Your commitment to avoiding unnecessary packaging, choosing tap water over bottled, and opting for whole foods and homemade alternatives is truly inspiring. Keep up the fantastic work Emma!
Hi Kyra, because of your videos I am now mindful with my spending and it helps me a lot in saving money for a much more important stuff. love your videos, watching from Philippines
Hi Kyra, Wanted to ask you on when you embarked in the minimal journey, what did you do with the stuffs which you already had? I am sure there must have had been products which had not finished and were still in use. This information will be surely useful for me. :)
I like the fresh take on the list. I too am learning to stay away from scented lip balms. I can use them fine for months and then all of a sudden my lips become allergic! So much of packaged goods in America are highly processed, mystery chemicals, that are designed to taste good but to only give you "just enough" to keep you eating more without ever filling you up. That said, a few times a year I crave Eggo waffles & syrup.
I don’t use oil cleansers or any other cleanser. Only extra virgin olive oil to clean my skin and remove makeup for almost 8 years now. I used to have really bad acne and hyperpigmentation but using the oil I don’t break out from it at all and it works very well to remove waterproof makeup gently and my skin doesn’t get dry/ irritated like it did from cleansers. It also helped even out my skin tone.
I like the homemade pancake recipe. I make my own dumplings : 2 cups flour 1-1/2 teaspoons salt 1 Tablespoon baking powder 2 Tablespoons oil ( I use olive oil ) 1 Cup warm water Mix and drop into boiling broth ( sometimes you have to add a little more flour or a little more water )
You have such a soothing, calming voice. It’s so relaxing watching your videos on that alone. Just wanted to say thank you for all the work you do for your videos you put out. They have helped me more than you’ll ever know. I appreciate how you get to the point and make it so we can listen to them while we declutter, clean, and drive like you’ve mentioned in a past video. Thank you for not giving up on your channel despite your hardships. I hope things get better for you soon and you’re able to achieve your goals. ✨🤍💞🏡
For skin care i think good soap (alep soap ,savon marseillais ...) and hydrating face cream for mixte or dry skin type laroche posay or cetaphil are good u can use it once a day at night . Only two products for face are essentiel .❤ To remove make up only micellaire garnier pink for sensitiv skin is good its like bioderma micellar water .
In my younger years I washed with Dr. Bronner’s Castile soap & moisturized with coconut oil. At about 58 yo I realized that wasn’t hurting my skin, but it wasn’t helping either. Thanks to RUclips & the wonderful dermatologists that share information with us (thank you x a million!) I have a wonderful routine that is very affordable & effective.
Have you tried just oil cleansing instead of oil cleansers? Yes we love castor oil mixed with grapeseed oil or avocado oil for our daily all over body moisturizer not just feet.
I've currently been enjoying a scalp oil from a small business called "Global Beauty" not getting paid for saying this either, I purchased this with my own money. I'm half way through the bottle and it is a good oil overall. I think once when this bottle is over I will try to find something more affordable though. You mentioned you only use maple syrup but there’s a monk fruit syrup that is carb free and tastes the same as maple syrup but much healthier and it’s made from natural ingredients by a brand called Lakanto. You should check it out! They probably sell it at Whole Foods
I tried monk fruit sugar before and didn’t really like the taste. For some reason, it made me extremely nauseous when I used it in certain recipes. I know maple syrup is high in calories, but surprisingly, it does have amazing health benefits, such as: 1. Rich in Antioxidants: Maple syrup contains antioxidants that help protect your cells from damage. 2. Contains Vitamins and Minerals: It’s a source of essential nutrients like zinc, manganese, and calcium. 3. Anti-inflammatory Properties: Some studies suggest that maple syrup may help reduce inflammation in the body. 4. Lower Glycemic Index: Compared to refined sugar, maple syrup has a lower glycemic index, meaning it has less impact on blood sugar levels. 5. Natural Sweetener: It’s a more natural option compared to many artificial sweeteners and refined sugars. All in moderation of course.
Of course maple syrup is all natural in moderation healthy I just meant if you’re looking to cut sugar intake. I’m sorry monk fruit doesn’t work for you!
Fabric softener is not good for your clothes or washer, plus the fabric softener and dryer sheets are very flammable. I have heard from several appliance repair people not to use fabric softener or dryer sheets because they aren't good for your clothes or the machines.
I want to stop buying costume jewelry.I have sensitive Skin and cheap jewelry makes my ears swell up. I like the way they look. But I don't like how it makes My ears swell. I also want to start buying ecos laundry detergent. Now that I know it is as good as they say, I'll buy it when I need laundry soap
Thats a shame about the salicylic acid. I use the paulas choice one and it is an amazing exfoliant. Certain skincare doesnt work for everyone, especially sensivite skin.
You are very sweet and pretty. I'll tell you some things that have worked for me. For acne, use cotton soaked with ACV in a cotton ball, start by diluting it to 50% and you can graduate according to tolerance. Pass it over your face and rinse. Castor oil as a moisturizer for skin/lips and argan oil for hair. As a deodorant, it dissolves sea salt and ACV, both preventing microbial growth, aromatize it with an essential oil of your choice, I like lemongrass. To clean the skin or hair, use a fairly diluted soap solution of soap and water or water with shampoo and add half a teaspoon of sea salt per 500 ml. Salt in an adequate solution hydrates (contrary to what I knew). To keep your shower tiles or glass panels clean, free of fungus or mineral, just dry the tiles or any wet surface with a towel after each shower. It also works to keep faucets looking like new for a long time.
OMG I haven't ate cereal since 2021 since I notice that I was treating it as a midnight snack or an afternoon snack 😫. Needless to say I try my best not eat cereal anymore either unless I truly have to.
I will not get pedicures and manicures anymore. It's crazy expensive and they constantly hurt my feet. Also no skin care. Just dove soap and sunscreen. No expensive shampoos. Dove shampoos work best on my hair.
I like your voice ☺️ you should consider making videos for sleep. The tone of your voice is just perfect. Always lovely content, thank you 🌸🌸🌸
😊 thank you, I've always wanted to do those type of videos sicne I to find them so relaxing. Maybe one day 🫶🏻
I second that! I know you’re not into asmr but you voice tone and accent are already so soothing! 😴
Yesssssssa
I also say this!!!! always thought this. ❤
Yes. So true. I was thinking the same thing

Epsom salt foot baths are a life saver for calluses, it's cheap too. I have boney feet, so I have to stay on top of calluses.

love these type of videos, happy Monday kyra :)
Thank you Emily 🫶🏻 Happy Monday as well and I hope you have an amazing week.

Thanks for the warning about salicylic acid.
I only use one facial wash, it's called Tony Moly Vital Vita 12, it's grapefruit scented, not strong though. Great video as always!
Thanks for sharing David, sounds like it's working out great! I swear we truly don't need ALL the products that are advertise to us.

Thank you 🥹🤍
Hi Kyra! Can I request a video on the topic of lifestyle creep? Love to hear your thoughts
Great idea!! Will definitely save this for future content, thank you!
Awww did you delete all your Q&A videos ? 😢
Have you tried just oil cleansing instead of oil cleansers? Yes we love castor oil mixed with grapeseed oil or avocado oil for our daily all over body moisturizer not just feet.
I’ve been thinking about not buying eye creams anymore and just use castor oil
Omg the cuteness of the kitty cat chilling in the back. What a cutiepie.
Maybe a day in the life of your cat next ?
Which scalp oil do you use? I didn’t see it linked 😊

I know right 😫 I wanted it to work so bad because of it being carb free. Back to the drawing bored for now.
Girl, go for the asmr videos! Your voice is soooo relaxing💕
I miss your vlogs 😢
ACV with water spray on scalp >>>>>> extremely cheap and efficiency
yah I never ever buy waterproof makeup before, because I have been so scared only by hearing about them 😅
Fabric softener is not good for your clothes or washer, plus the fabric softener and dryer sheets are very flammable. I have heard from several appliance repair people not to use fabric softener or dryer sheets because they aren't good for your clothes or the machines.

I'm no longer buying skin care. Just breaks me out.
Liquid fabric softener can also stain your clothes.
Do asmr with Milo❤

Yasss!! We basically have the same routine Diane 🤍
💛💛💛💛💛
Have you tried date syrup? Delicious and only ingredient is dates 😊
Love date syrup!! I find it very similar to maple syrup which is only one ingredient as well 😉
