So many people in the UK speak ill about people who are on the process of moving to the USA, instead of being happy for them and wishing them well. Misery loves company
I was on a F-1 visa and had a 3 year working visa called and OPT. I was unable to get a H-1B visa and had to go back to the UK. I have been told that the L1 Visa is my best option to move back. Do you think it’s easier for me to move to the US compared to other qualified candidates since I have had some work experience in the US market?
Just discovered your channel, great content! My wife and I are looking at relocating at the moment from SE England to the US. How many different locations/states did you visit before you settled on Vegas?
Hey! We love hearing from new subscribers. We had been to a few states New York, Florida, California for prior work or personal trips. When we got the job relocation we did not visit places as we were supposed to move to the Palo Alto area in California. Our move was delayed by a year due to the pandemic. Once we were allowed to move, my company mentioned we could move anywhere. We picked Vegas due to the proximity to California ( travel for work), and no state tax. We also moved with the intent that it would be temporary and we would visit other places to find a more permanent home. It just so happens that we ended up really like Vegas.
Thanks for this. Got my light bulb moment - time to start seeking US recruiters to connect with. I actually work for an organisation with US presence, but my team doesn't work with anyone or team from there. I mainly work with people in China and India.
Glad it was helpful. Even as I spoke through my journey, I started to understand that the contacts, and working with people in the USA ultimately helped.

Very true. There is something about the US, that people sometimes just dont want to accept that it can be a good place to live.
