These guys were big on the radio when the Beatles and English invasion happened. They never changed. The stayed in their lane their entire career and made it big anyway.
Who Loves You Rag Doll December 1963 Big Girls Don't Cry Dawn Stay Love the Four Seasons. They were a staple in the early 60's. Their wonderful tunes, with Frankie Valli's falsetto, were hit after hit. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Brandon for a great trip back. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Group called Maneskin recorded a cover of Begging in 2017. Four Seasons are always great!! My favorite of their songs is Opus 17 (Don't You Worry 'Bout Me). Can't think of a bad song in their huge catalogue.
This is another group I grew up with in the 60's. They had so many great hits together such as "Sherry", "Walk Like a Man" & "Candy Girl", "Let's Hang On!", "Working My Way Back to You", "I've Got You Under My Skin" etc. When Frankie went out on his own in the 70's, the songs "My Eyes Adored You" & "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" were big hits for him. Also he had a hit with the song "Grease" from the movie. Always loved that he was able to sing in a falsetto voice.
Saw Frankie in concert a few years ago in Windsor. I believe he was 85. Still going. Was glad I got to see him. Sounded very good and those Bob Gaudio songs are heavenly. 😉🇺🇦🇬🇧🤴🔥🇨🇦🇺🇸🙃👍
Saw Frankie and his young backups a few years back, pre-Jersey Boys, and felt a bit saddened. The backups could have cared less that they were singing with a living legend and unlike the great Tony Bennett, his voice was no longer servicable, imho. So ten years later.... he's going to be performing again in my neck of the California woods???! No.... just, no.
@@scottski51 Yeah, It was good to see him but like you said. Saw Paul McCartney a few months ago in NY. HE played for 21/2 hours without a break. You can hear his voice cracking a bit but to see him singing those songs is worth a little cracking vocals. I guess if they get too bad people won't pay to see them huh?. My kids said Frankie was lip - syncing. I was not sure. Thanks for your comment. 🙃👍
Having lived at this time and loving Frankie Vali, I can't believe I don't know this song! With so many songs, I guess it just got lost in my mind. Good song, but I don't believe one of their best. Thank you for your channel ... love it ❤
My uncle was Tommy Devito, founding member of this band. He passed away over the summer of 2020 from Covid. You should watch Jersey Boys to get a feel for the whole vibe. Directed by Clint Eastwood, it's a really good movie. My uncle is portrayed as the villian, and maybe he was, but he was a larger than life character.
I’ve loved the Four Seasons all my life & I’m 66. I live in London & saw Jersey Boys recently in the West End. Fabulous show, highly recommended ❤️ !!!
Hey Chris! My Great-Grandmother was a midwife in Silver Lake, Belleville, NJ. She delivered Gaetano "Tommy" DeVito in 1928. Tommy was my friend and mentor. No, he was not a "villain". He had flaws but he also had a big heart! He helped a lot of people behind the scenes, including myself. I grew up in the Stephen Crane Village housing projects. Frankie Valli and family lived here as well. Tommy was the best!
In the uk for many years since the 60s we have Northern Soul. Celebrating dance through the years The Four Seasons - Begging is a classic always played at dance hall meets with a specific styles It’s a whole Genre of Quality. Music & Dance !!
If you haven't seen the movie Jersey Boys, I suggest you do! The story ( true story of Frankie Valli), the actors & acting and of course THE MUSIC!! No way you can't not love it!
Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons are now on tour in 2022 with 60th Anniversary. Beggin was released in 60s. In 70s the 4 Seasons released a more jazz version. Yes, numerous groups have cut their own renditions. By the end of to 60s, the 4 Seasons were the number 1 selling American group until the mid 70s until replaced by the Jackson 5.
The best 4 Seasons tracks of the 1960s "Tell it to the Rain" and "Let's Hang on" both examples of very superior pop music production - but their catalogue is a rich one.
I really prefer the Four Seasons sound to Frankie Valli's solo stuff. There's just something special about the Four Seasons. There's a reason why they're one of the most successful groups in music history.
Song was much more popular in Europe than stateside. Barely cracked the top 100 here but made it to #1 in several other countries. You really should listen to Dawn and Rag Doll, two songs that mirror each other. In one the girl is not good enough for the boy, in the other the boy is not good enough for the girl. Rag Doll is possibly the greatest harmonies ever laid down on vinyl.
Beggin peaked at #16 on hot 100..should have been a bigger hit...but by 1967 many radio stations did not play 4 seasons as they saw them as passe..and radio djs wanted to be hip
What you probably heard was the pretty recent cover by the italian rockband Måneskin. They covered this song for one of their X-Factor Italy entries in 2017. It got a lot of traction after Måneskin won the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest with an original italian song (definitely worth checking out "Zitti e buoni" both the Eurovision finale version and the music video are just 😙). When they went on tour in the US after their ESC win, their english songs, especially "Begging" and "I wanna be your slave" got a lot of attention. If you choose to check their Begging version out, definitely go for a live performance.
Trivia 4 you, my uncle's name is Frankie Valli, not to be confused with THE Frankie Valli, people would get a little star struck when I told them I was related to Frankie Valli, lol
For all of you writing Maneskin is wrong about who got a later hit with it. A Norwegian group called Madcon had their first international hit with it Beggin in 2007. That is the version that put the song out on the map again. That is also the cover more true to the original.
The Four Seasons are one of the greatest American groups ever. Frankie Valli has one of the best voices in history. They are true legends

I love Franki Valli and the Four Seasons so much ❤️. To this day they are in my top 5 favorite bands . When I hear their music my heart soars❤️🔥🔥🔥

I love opus also.
Italian roots both in "The Four Seasons" and "Maneskin" !!.....it could mean something !
I love anything by Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. Great song Brandon and good reaction Harri.
Loved the Four Seasons and the Supremes before the Beatles!
Great Tract! Thanks....
One the best, and most successful groups....EVER.... ❤🔥🎵

The list of great Four Seasons songs is endless.
They are among the greatest acts in music history.
A duo called Madcon covered it a few years ago.
Love there version
Like this better. Remember, no autotune when this was made

So many great songs! Marlena, Got you Under My Skin are two favorites.
Way to go Brandon!! Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons will always be one of the best, never gets old ! 💫🎶🎤
My second favorite band. Close behind the beegees
I really enjoyed this tune. Great pick Brandon and reaction Harri. 👍

Very cool. I grew up right across the street next to Clara Mass. Yes, the movie/play needed to dramatize the whole situation.

Great song
Agree with you, Harri. I like the difference in his voice, gritty. Raw in a good way
One of my favorites by them. A little haunting in the beginning and it sounds different than their others.
It was covered by 2 bands........Maneskin and Madcon. Madcon's version was used in Step Up
I already told you great choice Brandon, but let me say it again. Great Choice Pal, Love it. 👍🙃🇺🇸🇨🇦🔥🤴🇬🇧🇺🇦😉
The group Maneskin released a version of this in 2017, it has gotten a lot of air play, even today.
Maneskin completely raped this beautiful song...
I didn’t remember hearing this song from back in the 60s but really like it! Great reaction!
CLASSIC 🔥
Frankie had most of the teens and women, in love with him.
Madcon did a cover in 2007

Major tune.
You may be thinking of the British group "Timebox" they did a great cover of this in 1968.
Thought I heard/knew all The Four Seasons songs. Don't think I've ever heard this one before.

Ooh. Curious to see what you think of this. Always one my 'not so well known' favorite 4 Seasons songs.

there have been remakes but they don't compare to the original
Awesome talent
A remake of this is all over Tiktok! 😁
Harri I think you remember a group from England , named "" Time box "" they did a cover version of this song ,there is a video on yt. OK Harri
Great shout- I prefer the timebox take on this track
The original and still the best version!

It was recently covered by an artist called maneskin
He is a good man
Check out “who loves you” by Frankie Valli & the 4 seasons
He has done that one. At was one of my February valentine day requests
@@brandonious7732 one of my personal favorites
The British and Europeans are very good at doing this genre. 👍
Yeah they're great at pretending to be American.

Killer songs from the 60s.
It was in one of the Step Up movies. I think it was in the second one. They danced in the street to this but I don't think it was Frankie
Gaudio looks like Frankenstein's monster, especially standing next to three short guys.
As soon as the words came in my man straight went into a deep trans type of state...😀
So innocent. Before the British Invasion.
Great choice. A band called "Maneskin", dos a great cover.
Love the original but Madcon is the best version in my opinion anyway
I was a big fan, but this not a favorite
