not gonna lie, this event looks like a lot of fun. More interesting than even the UR events or PR/DR updates. It almost looks like a game based on frigate ships could be made, if it wasn't for Azur Lane already dipping it's toe into this world. I foresee myself actually playing this event more intently than others.
Yeah Portugal now has a ship in the game, has a portuguese i feel so happy, its not something for meta or any good to use because planes but its fun, and its a SR, not bad really, other countries have no ships and we just got one, it had to some kind of frigate because Portugal is only know for that we dont have any ship built after that, and i prefer a fun and unique ship than a normal forgettable one. Its just so funny to me. I presume Spanish ones or dutch ones might appear, we have Golden hind, Adventure Galley, Whydah for Great Britain, Mary Celeste for canada

For items, there are also a sail with good hp and fantastic evasion, and an AMAZING ammo box that gives that ship's fleet +1 ammo and also gives reload and firepower. They are rewards from the secret shipyard.
I’m a new player (like only started playing about 2 weeks ago new 😭) so I was wondering if you have recommendations for which levels to grind for the event. So far, I can’t beat level 5 of the event yet so I can really only grind 1-4
Grind the highest level you can. It will level you up and get you more event points. 1-4 will at least get you helldiver prints which youll need. Hopefully by the end of the event you can start clearing 1-6. Welcome to the game.
Looks like a fun event and lineup, but nothing here says meta-changing or able to compete with the top 5%. I'll save my cubes on this event. Thanks for the breakdown. Luckily you dont really have to "grind" the event. Quick math of the event shop its about 8k event currency for all the equips. Just doing your normal dailies from the start to end of event cycle will bank you around 12k event curency without touching the actual event.

Also, all that healing on top of the oranges, man its like these ships wont go down at all ahah While i dont think they are meta non their own, i think they could make interesting mixed comps.
Welp the meowficcer part is pretty bad. 39fp for bb, 3% damage up is insane for what is basically a free cat with 0 rng. Just because drake has skill for tempesta doesn't mean shes only used for that faction. "orientated towards frigates, you won't really use her unless you're using frigates" is such a bad take because your 3 UR BB(heck even just 1 will do) is going to benefit from those stats more than whatever tempesta is offering now So yea drake is probably the best cat outta those 2 ssr cats I would probably use those 2cats together. UR BB + UR CA/CL with 6%damage up and the other stats looks good. the only people that wont use these cats are prob those people that spend their entire coin fortune to rng hunt a cat 🙃 Tldr. Both ssr cats are really good
Not even pulling for Wydah. No reason to waste cubes on a loli frigate that is outclassed by Adventure Galley with other events near. Collection stat ship. I can throw any other submarine there from tier 1 to tier 0 and do better with those 2 Tempesta or DaVinci. As for Drake you are wrong. So many good skills in one package and the most FP buff for BBs with her. WIll be very useful for those with no OP cats from RNG.
Why would anyone use these back line ships when they have no AA? It is cool we get new ships, but they can't be used in fleet make ups for normal missions.
So should they make Tempesta Ships horrendously bad to be more historically accurate? Seems like you're also going the stupid route mate. They need to make the ships appealing to a lot of people, including your average player that wants good units to invest his resources on, if the ships were borderline unusable, people wouldn't wanna pick them up. They're fine, not too OP, not too weak. It's called managing expectations. The players are happy, the event is good, devs are giving forgotten ships retrofits, can we just enjoy stuff without being negative? I swear.

It seems to me that a lot of people were starting to get burned out or feeling AL was getting stale, and this event has perked up many people's ears.

equipment combination can be shared across servers because it's part of the item-code that slap together i guess

They will not be usable in certain maps where AA is needed, yes.
Once again, more cubes to use just to get a SR ship that takes almost as long to get as a UR ship.
Burning cubes for more or less collection-tier ships. I love these type of events, I save alot of cubes.
