The hilarious part is that this guy has a mother is an oncologist which is one of the most intense specialties in medicine. That means that his mom is a very smart, focused and dedicated health provider...…I think this guy should be so ashamed of himself that he has a mother who raised his mediocre behind and still managed to be a medical professional. Yes Butker, God did give you this platform, so you could show who you really are and you shined bright, exposing yourself and of all the places to do that, at a catholic college. Let’s see, they just went through years of education to learn a vocation that you believe they should throw away to do another vocation. And what are and where are the college courses for this other vocation? You know for a fact your wife has no regrets? Did you ask her? Stick to football and keep your mouth shut.
I thoroughly enjoy my wife's company & she has told me a number of times that being a stay-at-home mom is the last thing she would want. She works in the medical field, absolutely loves furthering her education & told me that staying home 24/7 sounds like the most boring life possible. I feel lucky to have a spouse who values education & makes the choices that help her avoid feeling complacent

@chiefnama790 not at all, maybe I didn't articulate well enough. I'm referring to the fact that we all are much happier when we pursue the challenges that engage us. Some women I've met are absolutely amazing homemakers and it is their passion. For other women I've met, they grew stagnant as it wasn't engaging them enough. Everyone is different and what I'm trying to say is that I appreciate my wife making the decision that was best for her own personal growth.

It's not a man's world anymore and it hasn't been for a long long time! My wife has a career and is a great mother, so it doesn't have to be a choice between one or the other. She's a nurse, so she makes a lot more money than I do, and that's perfectly fine. Sometimes she works the weekends and I take care of our son. We are equal partners and we live a fulfilling life, so I don't really appreciate Harrison Butker's very narrow view point. Let people lives the way they so chose and if you don't like it pleasw keep it to yourself.
Also diversity is our country's strength and everyone needs to be heard and no matter how hard the GOP tries they can't stop the fact that we are becoming more diverse as a country. Where is the part where he addresses the men that buy into tradwives? You are asking women to give up careers/income, so you better be letting the men know they need to make their salary PLUS whatever their wives would be making. It is damn near impossible to live and raise a family on one salary. Less than 6% of people make over 200k a year in this country. Thats what it takes to live comfortably where I live (and many areas worth living). So, where’s the part in the speech that lets these guys know, you need to have a 200k salary, be able to buy a home, a couple of cars, vacations, kids education.. Not to mention, money for retirement and a multimillion dollar life insurance plan so your family can live comfortably if you die and leave your housewife, who’s never had a job, behind. Then, what happens if the man gets in a car accident and ends up unable to work ever again???? You best have ALL this shit ready to go by the time you put a ring on that tradwife. No doubt this man CAN because he plays professional football and comes from a privileged life his working mother helped give him.
