DX9's mission seems to be, 'These are Transformers, and you should have an awesome time transforming them'. I am loving the big hinged chunks, the solid-looking tabs, and the *sound* of those *shoulder ratchets!!* I have Roadking, and he's pretty easy to transform for a FansToys product, but Spoiler looks like a nightmare, and Montana is tons of fun to go from car to robot and back with. I think I'm going all-in on DX9 now.
Looks amazing. Love the double ratcheted joints articulation. So glad I waited for this. The extra long trailer doesn't bother me when he turns into this.
In my opinion the trailer for it being a skeleton... they made the right choice it’s still transforms as you can see in the video.I’m down with the parts forming and the exoskeleton I think it holds everything better that’s my opinion anyway but I’m still waiting for XTB.

Mann! He looks absolutely Fantastic!! Why they opted for a single solid piece for the hip skirt is beyond me! Still definitely looking to pick him up! Would of prefered a grey face instead of the silver, on the Menasor..but nothing we can't fix! Crazy amount of articulation..Great video!

I am seriously impressed how a complete not-Menasor body pops out of that trailer. Though my combiner team curse continues on with not-Stunticons again and while I like what I see so far from DX9 smaller car-wise, Fans Toys version of this character looks better for me.

I still prefer FT Roadking's look and size, but I can clearly see Capone has superior articulation and playability factor. People who buy this set, will be very happy with it and I can see why now. Great work with no instructions! The combine mode looks a winner, Not feeling Motormaster though, legs are ugly, head sculpt should be better and the outward shoulder joint should have been a ratchet.
I had the original roadmaster in the mid 80s,had most of the leaders(center pieces,) to the combiners silverbolt, razorclaw,hotspot just to name a few but none of their smaller counterparts so i had alot of the heads, hands, feet that they came with for the conbiner.the only comlete combiner i had was bruticus.
Not a fan of the beetle gun, but I love the rest of it. I presume Motormaster is going to fold up into a box like Zeta's Onslaught? I think Fanstoys looks better, but this is superior in every other way.
I'm not really sure what people are using as their basis for the trailer being too long. Trailers run in so many different lengths, with many US states only allowing up to 48ft trailers when not on major or interstate highways, but numerous states in the southwest allowing for up to 60ft trailers with permits, and a few very rare locations having no length limits; and if there's one thing you can be sure of with Stunticons, it's that they'd be perfectly fine adhering to all local and state legal guidelines that limit the length and size of vehicles both on and off the highways.
motormaster is cool cause the body is obtained by folding many times the "chassis" of the truck - I think engineers here did a wondrous work (in another video I theorized a similar thing to have giant dinosaurs whose hulk is folded many times to obtains littier sized dinobot _you found embedded in that hulk curled up_ e.g. if you take sludge apatosaurus you can telescopically retract the neck and bending and embedding tail sections, the hulk open along body's sagittal line and folded many times, and altogether put on the back of the dinobots. As for Menasor's body from the huge trailer that's another cool idea and it seems to be very stable, pity no other stunticons on that body, I wonder if you can put motormaster too on that tower. Anyway constructors must keep to experimenting on transformations finding new solutions.
Great review! Imo FT's Motormaster is better though. If only they made the face sculpt more stoic and the front hip flap is not one solid piece. Excited to see the complete set so you can compare them :)

um... First I don’t choose FT... as obviously their combiner torso is an additional part... So I will consider XTB and Dx9... as they are well use the Track to transform it into the combiner torso.... however, XTB’s articulation/ stability is not very well in their past record..., (This part Dx9 made Omega before) So Dx9 is my final choice! Hope this can help!
How are you going to do a complete transformation of Menasor and not show him together w/ all of the Stunticons? Especially when you have him standing up against Bruticus. I kept waiting for it, but then the video stopped and I was like, "Wait, what? That's it?? Nooooooooo!!" lol
My biggest complaint of this set is that it is Menasor. I wish it was Seacons / Poseidon or Abominus. DX9 has the best transformations in the game, though. DX9 is so kick-ass it is a shame they are also such an under-valued part of the transformers community IMO.

I still always favor Devastator. I painfully got every individual constructicon as a kid. When my mom finally got me MixMaster as the last piece and i formed Devastator . GREAT moment of my childhood
I don't think DX9 get enough credit in 3rd party circles. You hear about FansToys (of course) X-Transbots and Zeta a lot lately but never hear DX9 thrown into the conversation much even tho they've made some killer MP and legend scale figures. Gewalt Blitzwing is one of my favorite pieces in my MP collection, and you can pry my war in pocket dinobots from my cold dead hands lol.
Noteworthy complaints of mine: Attila has no ab crunch. Attila's crotch is one huge piece that you have to move out to move his legs (terrible missed opportunity). Question on whether those arms will be strong enough when the limb bots are added on. Capone's feet are long. Not a big fan of the trailer section not disconnecting at the hitch. Capone's arms do not appear strong enough to hold his gun out. Other than those complaints, the transformation and concept is genius.
Yeah no thanks. That trailer is beyond a 55 foot trailer. The size makes it look terrible. You don't need all of the combiner parts in the trailer or to be the trailer itself. This looks like a fiddly mess.
I'm absolutely blown away by the transformation, not only the detail but the simplicity of it all. I'm definitely collecting this!

You forgot to correctly transform the lower legs. The grill pieces fold up for more cartoon accurate leg detail.

Is there any way to rotate the shins so the cars are on the front? I know is not toon accurate but i think it would be more interesting that way.
In the cartoon you will actually find both modes, depending on the episode!
