I had a teddy ruxpin. Remember the company had a "hospital" you could send your broken teddy to to get fixed up? I had to do that once with teddy. They sent him back bandaged up and fixed with a "doctors note". The world was just better then.
"Conjunction Junction" was my favorite from "Schoolhouse Rock!". Saturday mornings in the 1970's would not have been complete without it! I wish we could all go back to those golden days. Such great memories!
Oh my goodness!! I used to love watching M*A*S*H with my mom before she passed away. And I remember the series finale she and I both sobbed like babies. Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen. 😢😢😢😢😢😢
@@genxjonoI'm late watching the clip so it's too late to make my usual "In my Casey Laden voice" and add some related song as a response. (Yeah, I actually do this. Have yet to get somebody asking "Who's Casey Kasem?" Guess they already know their friend Google.)
John, you are so good at stirring up what's been buried so deep inside for so long! There is one thing that I wish I could relive - my 7th grade crush. That crush lasted for 4 years. His name was Danny! Everything you share with us pokes that little treasure still deep in my heart after 52 years! Thank you! 🫶🥹
When a kids click-clacks smashed and little pieces flew everywhere, the school band them. And I LOVED the smell of DITTO's too. Remember sniffing them when teacher handed them out. And sometimes they were still warm. "Those were the days my friend, I thought they'd never end"... 😁
The first few beats of a song by REM, takes me back! Growing up in Athens Ga in 1970s and 1980s was wonderful! Still one of my favorite college towns....🎉
🎶 That’s great, it starts with an earthquake, birds and snakes and airplanes, Lenny Bruce is not afraid 🎶 This was my favorite “Sounds of the 80s” video, yet 😀
Thought you all would appreciate this. Went to spirit of halloween today and staring me in the face was a wall of my high school years. The rubber bracelets, the leg warmers, the neon mesh, the shades. Yikes. When did i become a halloween costume?
I'm a millennial and I grew up with over half of these things. MASH still one of the best shows to ever exist, if you love comedy and don't mind military at war life stuff, I highly highly recommend this show. It may be old, but it's funnier than a lot of modern comedy imo
I grew up in a poor family and from watching your shorts and the shorts from a gen X lady (I forgot her name), but I was raised to some degree similarly to a gen X. And I can relate to that style of parenting, a lot. My parents were divorced and my dad neglected my brother and I roughly 90% of the time and he'd get upset at us for only playing video games when he bought and left out his N64 for us to play. Other times he just left us with his parents or sisters to watch us while he disappeared to who knows where. And they pretty much only provided a roof and food and not much else. My brother and I's mom had to work 2 jobs cause my dad did what he could to pay as little of child support as possible. Mostly were raised by her parents whenever we visited. I still went outside to play a lot and hang out with friends and fairly often was told to get home by dark. Had 1 childhood friend that enjoyed making me scared from time to time exploring after dark, getting me in trouble for coming home late. But even with all that, I sometimes dream I could go back just because I miss hanging out with friends in person
I recognized every clip. Each brought with it a different memory. My parents were both immigrants from Germany. You know, with parents from a different culture, we learned about american life thru TV. I can remember wishing my family was like the Brady Bunch.
I loved Q*bert. I had a sticker of him on my window when I was young. Even got to see someone play an actual arcade version once. I had a knock off version for my TI 94
My mom => four children and four visiting nieces and nephews and 2 grandchildren + numerous neighbors.... somehow the thing not only survived but was fixed and replaced several times over the years..... I am 50 and the eldest of the group... and right now, I can walk across the room and pick it up right now! I have no idea how my mom survived all that LOL
Klackers! The huge glass marbles that left knots on your forearm while learning to use them. Those were badges of honor once you got the hang of it. As long as they didn't chip and put your eye out. But we were tough! It was just a flesh wound!
Bwahahahahahahahaha!!! I wasn't watching, just listening initially, and had to go through a second time to confirm that I recognized everything by sound properly 😂 I did!!! Also, we have a locally owned radio station that rebroadcasts Casey Kasem every Sunday! Anyone remember the Cabbage Patch advertisement that predated Teddy??? 🧸
Brought me to tears.. simpler times, the world was a better place..
Still a pretty cool place if you know where to look. But yeah - we were pretty damn lucky to grow up when we did.

MASH was legendary
The mash song will pull heartstring memories every time❤
I was almost 14 when the final episode aired. I shed a tear or two walking to my bedroom that night.
Same!!! Felt it right in my heart the second I heard it❤
makes me feel a heavy sadness when I hear it, which is odd, considering its a comedy (of sorts)

LOL I showed my son an episode of M-A-S-H several years ago. He liked it so much he bought the entire series on DVD.
Went to a restaurant in Florida once called Jungle Jim's that had a prop chopper from MASH hanging from the ceiling.

Agreed. We have probably forgotten more than we remember.. and definitely we have forgotten more than the newer generations have experienced thus far.
