I have spear fished on the shoals many times in the 70's and 80's. Never saw that many sharks!

It's sad, that I haven't yet seen a "Pro Angler" say, Let's not fish for sharks during the sardine run due to too many traces lost and very few fish landed. It's not worth 20+ traces and kilometres of line left into the sea for one fish landed.

      Fish heavy tackle bru.
Not grinders with 50 -80 lb braid ,200 cc steel etc.
Just my opinion and no that does not mean it cannot land a fish but the chances of losing it is a lot higher on this light tackle.

Might as well tell a mountaineer not to climb, a cricketer not to hit boundaries, a runner only to walk, a tennis player only to play against a wall. This is a sport.

I love getting pulled flat just like any other angler. However at the places where the netting takes place, there are too many fish and you are highly likely to get cut off. So I don't fish there while or just after the netting. Rather I walk away about 300-400m away. And don't fish if there's too many anglers already there.

Just use abit thicker braid like .3mm up and sinker must be really stuck in before sliding the bait and you must never shake the rod to the point where you reach slack line or else the slider will tangle and you should reach the ring no problem. Good luck.
