  • With around 1450 miles now ridden with the Touring Seat fitted is it worth fitting?

For me, being 6'-4", 235lbs, the Touring seats were a great upgrade.
It's a little taller which helps me and it's more comfortable.
Another + is that I swapped out the brown for black on my Halcyon Grey Royal Enfield Classic 350 and it looks way better!
    Ride Safe 🙏🏼

Black does look good on the green bikes 😁👍
Agree i like the slightly taller seat for more room 😁👍

I've got the touring seats and find them much better than standard, and a lot cheaper than seats I've fitted to previous bikes!

I had the touring seat and bars fitted to my Classic 350 but have gone back to standard as even though it's only an inch taller I found in certain situations I couldn't control the bike as well. e.g. turning round on a camber in neutral. It also made the bike feel taller so it was more like sitting on rather then in if you get my drift. Strangely the touring screen worked better with none of the buffeting associated with the standard seat and bars. As for comfort, I rarely do over 100 miles in a day and although the touring seat is better than the standard one it isn't enough of an improvement to make me put up with the disadvantages.

I get how you find the seat differences on how your bike rides for you compared to stock seat, i should after summer refit my stock seat and do another comparison after a few months riding stock - by late Autumn i will not be riding more than 100 mile days 👍😁

The standard seats are too soft, and sit too high on the bike for me ,and end up uncomfortable in no time at all when they squash down after a few miles, but as you know Bruce I'm a shortarse and the touring seat would cause me more problems being thicker 😆, so I fitted the Enfield lowrider seat and although it's firmer due to less padding it is way more comfortable and I feel more sat "in " the bike, I can do two or three hundred mile days on it , without discomfort, but yeah if I was taller I probably would have given the touring seat a try !
    Cheers Mel 🍻

Hi Mel, what Wee Mark had done with a low seat looks another good option getting a custom lining for a low touring option, he highly rates it,
2-300 miles is a good distance to aim at comfort for as coincides with fuel stops 😁👍

@@Coastriderscotland that's an idea , if I ever start to suffer discomfort I'll look at doing that! Cheers .

Just fitted a touring seat last month but haven't had a chance to do a long ride yet (100 + miles). Pleased to hear you're getting on well with yours. I'm afraid I'm a (road) cyclist too! Please be patient with us ;-)

The touring seat breaks in after a few decent rides so you don’t have to wait too long, lot of my friends are roadies 😁 i don’t hate anyone 😁 just those militant club groups 3-4 wide, oh and those buses! As too fast to overtake on the Enfield 😜👍😁

It really annoys me that manufacturers fit such poor seats to many bikes.
Maybe I am being overly negative but then I do own a 2018 NC750X with its sloping, concrete saddle...

Even BMW owners have complained about seat comfort Carl, the stock 350 seat is still the most comfortable stock seat i have used doing a 400 mile day then three 300 mile days which is good for a stock seat on a 4K bike 😁👍
