Hey Raxx, I watch your stream a lot and notice you often click on a vender and then select the option to disenchant or to identify items. If you CTRL+left click on those NPCs it'll automatically select that action. i.e., if you CTRL+left click Doryani, it'll automatically identify all the items in your inventory. Quick and easy.
Great vid! The weighted sum filter is a game changer. Another I’ve found very useful is the “count” option, which lets you add a bunch of desirable affixes and then choose the minimum number of them you’d like to see on an item. Very helpful when changing gear over multiple pieces and have a number of affixes that are desirable, but you’re flexible in where they appear (often rings/ amulet), great for covering resistances for example.
@ not necessarily if the affixes you require are not weighted and merely need covering, but you are flexible about where they appear. For example you need 30 dex and 25 strength for specific gems/gear. They’re not weighted just necessary.
Is there any way to add multiple gear sets to search for? Like what if I want either a helmet or boots that has a specific stat but I don’t want to search for any other gear types
Just used this to buy a few items to see how it works... Fixed all my res, added 1100 DPS to my main attack and got my item rarity find to 85%... All for 3 exalted. Very helpful.
@CostelloDamian solo self found mode = not allowed to party/trade. Its much harder due to not being able to buy gear but it's ALOT more rewarding experience imo.

Raxx, this video just changed the way I look for gear moving forward. What a great tutorial! Thank you for continuing to help the community get better at this game and providing easy to follow guides and videos. Appreciate all your work!
This video is really useful for those of us that were a bit confused on how to search (and overwhelmed by the amount of results) in the PoE2 trade website. That's for sharing it. ❤
Man, you are the only person who actually explains everything in such simple terms that it is clear and seems obvious after your videos! I cannot say enough about how grateful I am that you take your time to teach others!
Microscopic QoL tip; instead of scrolling down to click search manually, you can initiate the search sequence at any point by just pressing enter. It works even if you’re done typing an affix in and are no longer tabbed in the text box. Saves probably no more than half a second, but .01% smoother is .01% faster 😎
Great video Raxx... Another tip, which I always screw up is, I forget to double check the basic stat requirements (STR, DEX, INT). The amount of times I've found something that is amazing, only to buy it and realise that I can't use it, as I need way too much STR etc. So in the Requirements section, list what you're CAPABLE of getting to, by changing your skill nodes in your skill tree.
if you're searching for a weapon, I think it's a bad idea to add affix searches for things like phys damage and attack speed, since they are accounted for in the DPS calc, you're better of just increasing the DPS threshold since then you know you're getting the best combination of damage stats. The thing to filter for might be things like +gem level, or explicit elemental damage etc.
Great video. One thing I have been noticing. The item that the buyer whispers you about will be highlighted in your stash with a purple outline around it. Now, this does not always work for some reason, but it makes finding the item they buyer wants much easier. Just noticed this a couple weeks ago. The sum feature explanation really helped. I was not sure how that worked at all.
If youre Looking for generic Expert bases (which afaik isnt possible directly), set the minimum Level Requirement (not Itemlevel) to 65, Its not perfect but it filters out alot of the advanced or normal bases.
Fantastic video as always, Raxx. Super clear, love the various examples. Looking forward to the gearing + crafting guide for SSF; will probably go that way for the first league reset as I always enjoy the process of having to find or make everything myself.
Count is also really helpfull, it lets you choose all the stats that would be good for you and then you can say that the items that are shown need to have at least X amount of those stats on them. Another thing i usually do is after putting in all the stats i want i sort my results by those stats once and then update each stat with a realistic min value i would like to have.
In case it wasn't clear from the video: The reason you might want to put attack speed or crit chance in the equipment filters, is that the bonus might come from an implicit stat on the gear and that's more work to actually search for with the filters, because you'd have to search for both and put them in an "or" group. Another tip for the equipment filters is that you can put a max value of 0, if for example you don't want an armor roll, but you don't really care if the item has evasion, energy shield or a hybrid of both. You might also add something like a life filter if you're playing CI and you don't want to have a dead stat of life on your gear. To do that you choose the stat group "not" and add life.
Only thing I would add. Don't feel like you NEED to buy something asap. This isnt an auction house like WoW as its only showing you what people currently online are selling. If you dont find anything worth buying check back in an hour or a day and between new active players and items constsntly being added youll find something sooner or later.
One trick I like to use with certain items, like boots, where one affix is by far the most important - instead of setting that one as an AND filter and then doing my other stats in a weighted sum, I'll include that one in the sum with a really high weight. So for boots, I might set it so that 5% more movespeed was worth almost as much as a pretty good roll on another stat. That way I can see a mix of say, 35% movespeed boots with pretty good stats and 30%s with way better rolls on other stats. One other tip worth mentioning: if you have the budget to spare or just lots of choices in your price range, it's often worthwhile to go for better resist rolls on resists you're already capped for over small increases to other stats. This provides a buffer against -resist debuffs but (IMO) more importantly: it makes your life easier next time you want to swap out a piece of gear with a couple resists on it, so you don't have to search for exactly the same resist values to avoid dropping under cap. The hardest time to upgrade gear on a character, in my experience, is around yellow maps when you likely have pretty decent gear in all slots, still have a somewhat limited budget, the gear you're looking to buy is higher end so there won't be a huge number of great options sometimes, and you just barely cover all your resists with a bunch of mostly mediocre rolls on basically all your gear. The difference in item quality you'll be able to afford searching for new gloves that must have 32% fire and 20% cold to keep you capped, vs. just any gloves with the other stats you want, can be pretty huge, especially if there are lots of other suffixes you want that can take the place of those resist rolls.
Thanks so much for explaining the weighted sum search, I'm used to sorting by pseudo: total ele res and was bummed it wasn't in POE2 but this is even better!
Hey Raxx, love your videos man! I was curious if you would ever do a small video for people who aren't quite sure what base items are worth rolling orbs on to craft, or if maybe I missed one where you did this.
Another good tip: I've found that if items are listed at kind of a low price and no one is replying, you're probably asking people who think the item is too cheap to warrant leaving their map for, or they never really intended to sell it at that price in the first place. As an example, I could find loads of Radiant Grief helmets listed for 1-2 ex, but no one was replying to my whispers (and I did this hundreds of times). Went for one selling for a more honest price (a couple of ex higher) and got the trade done in one go.
Love this guide a lot, and I'm an avid watcher on your stream - however I still standby that searching a website (even if it is the official one) to upgrade my gear just feels completely terrible and completely defeats the purpose of an ARPG in my opinion. Great video as always, keep up the good work.
That's usually because they are price fixers trying to make other people devalue their items so they can buy them cheap and mark them up and sell them on again. It's a whole thing, so if you see something for 1ex that looks godly it's either a price fixer who has no intention to sell it which is why you get ignored or somebody dropped it in the wrong tab in their stash that automatically puts everything at 1ex.
Yup... I just smash every whisper link on the site at a particular price and hope one of them isn't a foreign bot. 10% of the time it works every time.
Wow, i didn't know about the weighted sum search. That's a really good tool. Not sure i understand how the weighting works but i'm gonna check it out for sure. Thx, really looking for the crafting guide Raxx
I knew alot about trading already but that 2nd half of the video gave me like another 5 things to think about. Thanks for the guide raxx. But yea, people are price fixing the god tier items for end game and they are still way out of reach of mine, u literally can't find any of your final ice strike monk stuff for under 10 div a piece now.
bro thank you for this …..i had already purchased gear for 25+ exalts but after these tips i bought better gear for no more than 10 exalts ……insane info……thank you again
Other tips: You can manually force delist your item from trade if you get spammed with messages. To better understand an item's stats, you should look up a database containing all item stats, making searching for item stats much easier than guessing. If the seller's item has been out for days, whisper the seller with a lower offer. From my experience, the majority of sellers will lower prices. You can also manually change the direct message from seller trade, but then you should do your diligence and give the seller information about the original price and your own asking price. Another thing you can do with trade is to manually save the trade setting, so that you have multiple trade options ready whenever you need something particular, like for example a high-level waystone that is magic and not rare.
I think another big thing is check if you're searching for too many prefix/suffix mods on an item, stats can only roll as a prefix/suffix so you won't be able to have triple resist + something like thorns.
Just as a bit of info. Typically in a league economy the longer the league has gone by the price threshold to get consistent responses increases. On day 1, 2 or 3 for example, people will happily take the time to sell you their 1-5 exalt items. But on week 3 the time it takes to go out their map or whatever else they are doing is not worth to trade the 5 exalt item that they have forgotten in a 5 ex dump tab from weeks ago so they will not respond. And that threshold will continue rising. So sometimes checking when the item was posted is important to actually get a response.
Another use for weigthesd sum is calculating life on item - put weigthed sum of life and streangth but put weigth 2 on strength (or 4 if you are legionare for example) and weigth 1 on life and put as value amount of life you wana have - same with mana/int
GREAT video once again man! Would love to see you try this on your PS5. The interface is SO cumbersome! Trying to type for the search is aggravating and communicating with anyone for any reason is near impossible. Would be great if this hole trading process was an automated in game feature.... or all us console players just go buy a PC. 🤷♂️😜
i feel you dude. i have like 200 hrs in the game and still haven’t traded a single time yet cause i’ll admit it looks so intimidating haha. have you tried plugging in a keyboard to your ps5? ive been using any kb
On console if someone whispers to you to buy somthing if you open chat (it's on the 2nd hot bar, R2 and right on directional pad on ps5 I beleive) and you can highlight their name and invite them. Took me a minute to figure that out. They definitely don't make it easy.
ty so much for this. new player here and i’ve haven’t traded yet on console. i have a dumb question, once invited to a party for a trade how do you teleport to their hide out?
@@bjuj5939open main menu using options button, person you're in party will pop up on left side. Click on it and warp to player. Before doing so, make sure they're in a hideout (this information is listed in main screen underneath their avatar)
It also could be usefull to set a max armor to 1 if you don't want armor at all on your chest, but are open to evasion and/or energy shield in any mix available.
Attack speed is calculated into DPS so you don't want to search for it especially since it doesnt help you one shot packs (though technically attack speed gives you slightly less move speed penalty while using non-melee weapons) +bow skills doesnt increase the DPS number though so you'd search for +1 arrow, >+4 projectile skills, (possibly cold damage if you need help with freezing though this narrows your search a lot which is bad), then sort by DPS
+projectile skills could also really hurt your build if you don't have enough mana reg. Had a "+6 to all melee skills" staff on my monk. Had to sell it because I couldn't sustain the mana.
It's calculated into the local DPS for the weapon, but that's very different to how it fits into the global dps of your character. If you're a crit build for e.g., attack speed is effectively a multiplier on your crit chance, and it will help you one shot packs. Also if you're running something like the gem that gives you 25% more attack speed, it will be more effective on weapons with high local attack speed stats. Plenty of reasons to search for attack speed.
@GrotesqueSmurf on ranger the one shots are quite important (because you keep moving around and will struggle to hit the same enemy twice consistently) so IMO you do just have to solve the mana issues And it will only ever be an issue on bosses since you can run some 2% mana on kill jewels (for bosses, thief's torment is an expensive but final solution...)
@@Hankblue depends on how high the base damage is. lets's say your crit bonus is 100%. then two crits of a 50 base damage are the same as one crit of 100 base damage. so the base damage needs to be more than 50% of the one without attack speed to be worth it.
combning weighted sum with the actual affix requirement is also very useful. weighted sum can give a result of zero on one or more of the stats but if you also include them one by one above then the search will always give you the ones with the actual thing.
Can you put up a video showing how to change a loot filter? For example I’m running a storm wave invoker and the best staff I can get is an expert crackling but never sink has those hidden on certain tiers of the filter. Thanks for all the help as always.
The weighted search is the biggest difference from similar vids and is the greatest impact. If you can figure out a good edit for just that it would be very useful standalone vid or Short to reference
There are things I don't like about POE2 but the trade system is not one. I love it. I'm a huge Blizzard fan too. I hope they can give d4 more depth in the future.
Love the video Raxx. I'm a level 87 ice strike monk. Clearing all content with ease, I just finished my t 15 map quests and got my 4th ascendancy. My unlucky ass has found 0 divines so far. Yes I've been juicing maps and using tablets and I have some increased rarity (100+).
I am a 89 and found 2 divines within 10 min one from another in act 3 cruel while lvling my first character. Nothing more since than. But man I was so happy with the find i sold them immediately for 12ex each 😂.
the craziest part is lowering your requirements takes you out of an entire price bracket. So, in your phys bow example, lowering your dps requirement from 400 to 350 meant you also should have swapped back to exalted for currency, and then you would have found a few 350 phys dps bows for 40-60 ex. Same with body armors. Looking for a 600 ES body armor with any spirit on it at all will run you 2 div minimum. Looking for a 450 es body armor now lets you also have a resist and still get spirit and you're again only paying 40-60 ex. I recommend never selecting "divine" as the currency. You should always start with exalt searches and only if you can't find any listings for exalts do you then swap to divine.
Thanks a lot for the info it help a lot in understanding the freaking trading page. But for some reason is really dificult to actually get to met someone to trade
Actually the swirly is a portal and it takes you directly to wherever they are at THAT time they may be in their HO but maybe not, so to be sure just right click on them and click "go to hideout". Adding just the bare minimum on the filter stats you will get the lowest to the highest possible, i suggest doing a middle ground which would include the middle to the highest possible leaving out the lowest. the 3 EX boots MIGHT be fake since they were AFK... especially with stats like those. (fake as in they are trying to lower prices by putting theirs up for a really low price and never answer.)
I'm so sad I just watched this after spending all of my exalts buying new gear for mapping. The last part of this video would have been so helpful to have and I'm certain that I totally wasted some of my money :( However, this is an excellent video and will make future trading much improved!
love the trade site in poe. i would like something in game, but i'm a bit afraid that it would remove the complex queries you can perform to really narrow down your searches if it was a straight up AH. hope they can figure something out that keeps the ability to perform good searches
Im just playing pseudo-SSF, ive been priced out of pretty much everything cause if youre not swinging divines around, you aren't buying anything. The economy is so shot right now between those who can grind and abuse the rarity system and those who can't.
Tried to do some trading after watching the video. Sold some garbage for excatls. Got really exited. Tried to buy a paid of boots for 1 exalt. Mistakenly transferred my whole stash of 11 exalts. The player was kind enough to return 10. Rollecoaster of emotions.
Oh, one more unfortunately relevant tip: if you see a really well priced item listed less than an hour ago, ESPECIALLY if it was in the last few minutes or less, don't get your hopes up. Odds are your trade whisper will just wind up being free pricing research for the seller. Send the whisper anyway but maybe keep scrolling for a backup option while you wait for that invite that probably won't come. (Another case where you're a lot less likely than average to get an invite and actually get to buy the item: low cost rares posted more than a couple days ago. Most people get to a point where it's really just not worth the hassle to tp back to hideout and complete a trade for 1 or 2 exalts, and they may just not have gotten around to delisting their old 1ex dump tab. But other people will still happily trade 1ex rares at lvl 90+, so again - go ahead and send that whisper, just know that the odds of getting a response are lower.)

Raxx, I just want to say thank you. Thank you a lot.
Where was this guide a few weeks ago? I’ve wasted so much currency due to lack of knowledge. Thank you for the video!
While watching this, i got 3 divines from blue t11 map. I am not sure if your video itself save me more money than that, but thank you in both cases!
A 45 minute training video about trading is exactly what I need. Let’s go Rax I’m taking notes
Count is super good too for jewels and other items that have multiple valued affixes. Plug in a list of affixes set the count to 2-3 then search
Might not be all there is to know about trading, ............BUT ITS ALL I NEED............tyvm brah !!!
Thank you for this guide, I really appreciate it.
thank You for all you do Raxx, this is great.
@@bjuj5939 pause menu > social menu > party
@@bjuj5939press start, then cross/a on their portrait, select warp to player
I swear to god your tutorial vids are just godsent, thank you for dumbing it down to us casuals 🤣
Awesome video Rax Thanks :)
It also could be usefull to set a max armor to 1 if you don't want armor at all on your chest, but are open to evasion and/or energy shield in any mix available.
thanks raxx i was looking forward to this video
Attack speed is calculated into DPS so you don't want to search for it especially since it doesnt help you one shot packs (though technically attack speed gives you slightly less move speed penalty while using non-melee weapons)
+bow skills doesnt increase the DPS number though so you'd search for +1 arrow, >+4 projectile skills, (possibly cold damage if you need help with freezing though this narrows your search a lot which is bad), then sort by DPS
+projectile skills could also really hurt your build if you don't have enough mana reg.
Had a "+6 to all melee skills" staff on my monk. Had to sell it because I couldn't sustain the mana.
Ya + skills can get you. Got a perfect bow and can barely use it with how my mana is. Wish I had considered that when buying the bow
@GrotesqueSmurf on ranger the one shots are quite important (because you keep moving around and will struggle to hit the same enemy twice consistently) so IMO you do just have to solve the mana issues
And it will only ever be an issue on bosses since you can run some 2% mana on kill jewels (for bosses, thief's torment is an expensive but final solution...)
@@Hankblue depends on how high the base damage is. lets's say your crit bonus is 100%. then two crits of a 50 base damage are the same as one crit of 100 base damage.
so the base damage needs to be more than 50% of the one without attack speed to be worth it.
Awesome video. Thanks for the pro info
combning weighted sum with the actual affix requirement is also very useful. weighted sum can give a result of zero on one or more of the stats but if you also include them one by one above then the search will always give you the ones with the actual thing.
Can you put up a video showing how to change a loot filter? For example I’m running a storm wave invoker and the best staff I can get is an expert crackling but never sink has those hidden on certain tiers of the filter. Thanks for all the help as always.
Great bigginers guide, nicly done.
@@vbmnx Typo is it 120 or 12? 🤨
God I hope it was 120@hixon5186
!00% rarity is nothing.
@@hixon5186 unfortunately not typo. It was third or forth day and that was the actual price in the exchange.
Once again, bro, amazing and usefull video,. More huge thxs \m/!!!
Oh wow, I had no idea how great weighted sum v2 really is. I upgraded all my gear for cheaper than I thought. A get rich quick scheme that works!
the craziest part is lowering your requirements takes you out of an entire price bracket.
This video is completely juiced, thanks Raxx
Thanks rax you are doing the lords work here.
The magic of sum V2 !! Thank you !
Thanks a lot for the info it help a lot in understanding the freaking trading page. But for some reason is really dificult to actually get to met someone to trade
tysm for this guide Raxx.. now i know what to do with my monk :)
Was thinking about this video and here it is 16min ago.. Insane
This is great, Raxx!
The biggest PoE2 tip I'd give a newcomer is to subscribe to Raxx...instantly clear t16 with ease.
Web3 Infinity Token's community is growing quickly, and that's always a good sign. Looking forward to its future!
godlike video raxx, ty
Thank you professor!
I'm so sad I just watched this after spending all of my exalts buying new gear for mapping. The last part of this video would have been so helpful to have and I'm certain that I totally wasted some of my money :(
However, this is an excellent video and will make future trading much improved!
love the trade site in poe.
i would like something in game, but i'm a bit afraid that it would remove the complex queries you can perform to really narrow down your searches if it was a straight up AH. hope they can figure something out that keeps the ability to perform good searches
Haven't traded once, loving it. I also die in T17 Breach regularly so lol...
Amazing video thank you
Oh, one more unfortunately relevant tip: if you see a really well priced item listed less than an hour ago, ESPECIALLY if it was in the last few minutes or less, don't get your hopes up.
But other people will still happily trade 1ex rares at lvl 90+, so again - go ahead and send that whisper, just know that the odds of getting a response are lower.)
it was helpful ty for the guide
