Last deck build, 100% DONE! Not 95% like so many of my projects, completely done. Thanks to all who watched and joined us from the pergola video, have a great weekend!
Composite products are great in extreme environments, wet or dry. Here in the AZ desert wood drys out in just a few years. You have a very nice family.
looks amazing Tyler! projects that big always seem like they take forever to finish, but seeing end result and that you did it yourself is always rewarding
Omg, Tyler, I envy your craftsmanship And detailed instructions. I aspire to be a carpenter but I have no skills. So I use resourced materials (striving to leave a smaller carbon footprint). I plan on trying to build two panels for my tiny home on wheels porch. Wish me luck 🙄….as I do you. It’s 😮 Always wonderful to see young craftsman or craftswoman doing what they do so well. Thank you.
About finished with my hog wire rails for my back porch. The price has skyrocketed on the 4x4 hog wire. It went from $64 a sheet to $100 a sheet in two months. You did a fine job.
Nice looking job Tyler! If you are counting on just the dado to secure the wire, I suggest using heavy hog staples to ensure it won’t bust right out if a child trips and falls into it.
Even though you do amazing working, thanks by the way. I just love the way your family steps in and help whenever you need it. That's awesome!!!!!! Great Job with the deck.
And here I thought I had a unique idea when I used hog wire fencing for the rails in my deck. Looks good. Almost as good as mine. Of course I didn’t build mine myself.
I kinda thought so too until I started to look if anyone else has done something similar. Even decking companies have away over priced version of this! Thanks for watching Jim!
How sturdy is the hog wire in the frames? Our deck is 12' in the air. If a child fell against it would it pull out of the dado's? The design is wonderful, just trying to confirm safety. Thanks.
lol! Pretty funny wasn't it! I have never seen cats climb as much as these two, they end up in all sorts of interesting places. Thanks for watching Jeff!
Tyler congrats on the deck build it certainly makes your house look complete from the outside 👌. One thing, you really should not refer when talking about your wife as "The Wife!" As it sounds really condescending which isn't very flattering for your better half!!! As always mate 💯% 👍 🇬🇧.

A fitting day when I have my DIY Tyler shirt on. Great deck project. Looks fantastic. Always enjoy seeing the family helping out. Thanks.
Thanks Doug, we appreciate the support!
Sweet job Tyler, and loved seeing the kids help. Wow they are growing fast. 😀
So fast, need to sit on this deck and keep an eye on them now!
Great job. Nice to hear you talk of the meticulous measurements and planning for the different sections.
Thank you!
I really like the looks of that homemade railing.
Same, is really nice to sit on the swing and enjoy the backyard...a typical railing with pickets blocks so much view. Thanks for watching!
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL deck and finish!!!! You have great vision as well as lot's and lot's of talent!!! Gods blessings to you and your family.
Thanks Sandra, glad you have enjoyed the build!
Bravissimo Tyler 💯💯💯👍
Thanks Giovanni!

Good to know! I am mostly looking forward to never having to seal this! Thanks for watching!

Another great job Tyler. Looks really great.
Thanks George!
By the way I loved seeing the whole family involved (including the pets)! ❤️
Looks great. Enjoyed
Excellent job as always Tyler
I appreciate that Bruce!
Excellent Job Tyler! Get rid of the cliché lattice and do faux rock or brick skirt.
Oh but I just finished!!! And I want to sit on it now!
Omg, Tyler, I envy
your craftsmanship

11:50 That cat is fighting for her life 😁
He wanted out! Thanks for watching Mihael!
Well done!
Beautiful deck!!
I think so too!
Awesome job on a beautiful deck! Love it! God’s blessings from VA.
Thanks Linda, we sure like it!

Thanks Katherine! Appreciate you being a faithful subscriber for so long too!

You did a fine job.
You had to go to Port Huron to find the panels. The store in Richmond (mi) usually carries 4", or at least they used to.
Nice looking job Tyler! If you are counting on just the dado to secure the wire, I suggest using heavy hog staples to ensure it won’t bust right out if a child trips and falls into it.
Your cat jumping up hanging to the door is priceless lol.

Excellent job
Thanks so much!
Hello from Ireland! Been following your deck build. Looks fantastic. Great job man!
Thanks for the overseas view Martin!
Hi Tyler I live in Michigan too
Thanks . Love this video. I watch 3 times trying to get the name of that white exterior cover. It looks beautiful.
A real professional job! Looks damn good...
Great job!
I love this Deck and porch! Thank you!
Love, The Wife.
P.S. You are doing a great job teaching those kids!
This looks great
Love It!
Great job! Was awesome following the full build.
Aren't you going to install some gutters?
Great looking job on the railings, if possible could you provide a sku for the fence paneling you used? Very hard to find at my local TS, thank you.
Very nice my friend 🖒☺....What materials are used to protect wood from moisture?
Nice job
Why are the gates lower than the fence?
Tyler , ya tengo un par de años siguiendo tus vídeos, y me parecen muy buenos , saludos de Guadalajara Mexico 👍
¡Muchas gracias! ¡Me alegro de que los disfrutes!

After a year, has the top rail sagged any? That was my only concern before I pull the trigger & copy you!
I cannot seem to source composite 2x4’s. Where did you buy them?
Let the kitty escape!
Who let the cat out! Thanks for watching Brian
Me encantaría trabajar ahí con usted
Yo aquí en España hago trabajos parecidos al suyo
Gracias por su video
Impresionante, gracias por verlo!
What size dado did you cut in the center of the board?
How sturdy is the hog wire in the frames? Our deck is 12' in the air. If a child fell against it would it pull out of the dado's? The design is wonderful, just trying to confirm safety. Thanks.
I have pulled/pushed pretty hard on them to straighten the fencing after install and none have popped out. Thanks for watching Chuck!
esta bien explicado gracias
Life will become much easier when you start using the metric system.
Жизнь станет намного проще когда вы начнете использовать метрическую систему.
lol! Yes it would....BUT...I have tried to make myself use it here and there and I cannot visualize distances so I always revert. Thanks for watching!
What is that cable that you have running along just below the railing? Maybe I missed it in the video but can’t find it.
Not a cable, that's actually a mister system from Lowes. Makes a hot day pretty comfy!
Great series...as expected. Let that dang cat out.
lol! Pretty funny wasn't it! I have never seen cats climb as much as these two, they end up in all sorts of interesting places. Thanks for watching Jeff!
If Elon ever goes to Mars he needs to take you with him. So handy!

Thanks watching and looking out.
It's actually my screen name, we're "DiyTyler and The Wife". All good 👍
@@_the_wife_3323 Hahaha brilliant 👏 😄 thanks for letting me know 😊!!!As always 💯%... 👍 🇬🇧.
You could paint the lattice.
The almost invisible deck railing look more like a chicken coop
You lost me with the plastic.
