I mean, i cant really speak cuz i play shooters on the daily and have been doing so for years, but ive always been able to tell where a gun is aiming at, firing without adsing was never a hard thing not even when im guessing, i might miss a couple of times but as long as i can tell where the center of my screen is and i can see my gun i can do it.
if you want some advise try using the red dot first, learn the distance from the point of impact of the bullets which is always the same in your screen and your gun, you can almost always eye ball it, but knowing how far away your gun is makes you faster, as you are aiming with it instead of using your entire screen.
once youve gotten used to the red dot take it off and you should already be better, try to stop aiming at all and simply use the tips, correct yourself everytime you miss

When I held a live gun for the first time, I had zero experience wirth pistols but plenty of game, so at first Iwas surprised how hard it is to double tap so holds not be like target apart high, but I learned it pretty fast by the end of session.
