Well, the king wears a mask, so, we gotta presume he's gas immune, and maybe flash immune.
Because he wears large robes, we must presume he is wearing body armor under that, so Stingers, bean bags, and tasers may be a no go too.
This means we must catch him in the shock of a C2 blast. Speed and shock must be used to subdue the king.

I might be the first to say it, but the "disfigured humanoid faces" look absolutely awesome. I love that sort of macabre art style.
There’s a subtle horror to SWAT work it’s what made the original swat so memorable… there’s a subtle horror to detective work like explored in true detective, combining the two in the game is masterful I think.
Such depravity that you almost, for a second, believe that it’s supernatural, that the yellow king is real, carcosa is real, what Rus saw in the old fort was real
I never thought I’d say it but if the game had a more structured story it could be the true detective of games
I consider Ready or Not to be a spiritual successor to TD
I am happy to see this ARG (at least your reading of it) has more depth than it just being another generic "ooo spooky insane dialogue, what does it all mean?" set up.
The interpretation that it's all poetics for those disassociating from trauma is way more interesting and fits pretty well with the general grounded themes that Ready or Not loves to explore.
Also the long faced disfigured image of the SWAT officer is creepy and cool looking.
The disassociation is true for probably all the SWAT members, except for Judge. He’s probably sun shine and rainbows, or was broken before Ready Or Not…I’ma go with the first one.
A theory sais that he was a USIA agent who was the subject of an experiment called "uncorruptable agent" that basically was supposed to be an unstoppeable agent with no interest apart from following orders, the theory comes from similiar shit coming from Geralds house in hide and seek
Considering Scott's ramblings in Lethal Obsession the first is pretty improbable
Perhaps they are both ex MLO or ex SC project
From my understanding, Its implied that Judge is a CID plant that underwent ready or nots version of the MK Ultra program, causing him to be distant from the mental anguish the other officers face
i have a feeling wherever this ARG goes, whether its a metaphor for trauma or actual supernatural occurances, it will make for an awesome chapter in this worlds story

I had no clue about this except I remember seeing the weird writing on walls and something about it changed when I shot it IIRC. The mission was the urban neighborhood which was turned to a meth lab, and totally trashed.
I’d love to see where void with go from this cause the idea of Judge being the new guy who sees the horror of LS is very Gotham esc and I love it

I am getting some major Delta Green vibes from the ARG... I hope that we might even get some possible encounters with the "supernatural" in-game at some point
this is actually a very nice addition to the games story and development. a better look into how the events that we see throughout the game scar not only our officers but the world at large.
This reminds me of Payday 2, a robber game with lore involving eldritch entities

I originally hopped on RoN a good while back and never thought too hard on it, just thought of it as a updated version of the S.W.A.T games from way back when, but going thru the levels now, after a good while, Jesus as the environments, settings and findings got increasingly more depraved and depressing, It really hit differently than just any generic "arrest bad guy game" far more than I expected it to.

imagine if Void one day release a psychological horror game about ptsd and trauma, with the lost as the monsters haunting your character!
They can easily just make a mode where the swat officers are fighting monsters... But then it wouldn't be ready or not, lol

I think the saddest part of all of this is that you can still kinda see some illusion of the person before they were racked with guilt and trauma in those disfigured faces. It feels like watching a brother you've known, struggled with, survived shit with etc start to slip away to where you either don't recognize them anymore or they decide to take a permanent solution to a temporary problem. They hit the nail on the head with this game man.
first time watching this I was a little traumatized, second time I got tears of joy.

I have been playing RoN for a couple of weeks now and it is something else, man. The atmosphere is raw and unnerving.

This rules, you should do more of these. Some of the evidence added in 1.0 references the MLO as well as some more supernatural elements and it would be cool to have a video exploring the new information and connections, like how something that was only alluded to before is now explicitly confirmed, specifically regarding Judge and "The Cycle".
I always suspected that the game was inspired by true detective s1, but i didnt know it went this far.
