He could at least SHOUT THEM OUT! I instantly noticed the beat similarity but wow the melody too??? No doubt his song is directly inspired by them. The 80s are one of the GRAND AGES OF MUSIC. #SmalltownBoy is A WAY BETTER SONG, PERIOD!!
Right on point sir! Ed's in trouble -again- with this one. Not even close to a plagiarism, this is just plain rip off. Spot on production by you of course!
@A it's called sampling when you take a sample and you get a permission to use it legally. When reproducing and using an identical chord progression and not even mentioning or crediting the original source is mostly a rip off
This mashup actually gave me goosebumps 😳 I love both of these songs and Eds is ridiculously similar to Jimmy's but honestly... they are both soo good together
Great mash up and iconic vocals by Somerville, OK so you may think it's a rip off by ES but I bet your now listening to Jimmy Somerville songs or should be.....
Really good mash up! You've done a brilliant job with the differences in key. Did you pitch Jimmy Somerville's voice slightly? I can't detect anything, but you must have..?
I'm amazed there isn't liability against Ed Sheeran from Jimmy Somerville. 🤔 Great mashup. 👍🏻 When Bad habits was released I immediately thought of Small town boy it was unmistakable to me. Might I suggest another Ed mashup for you to try, if you haven't already. Ed Sheeran 'Sing' and the Doobie Brothers 'Long train running'. 👍🏻
@@ShaharVarshal thank you, it's the 1st time I've seen this mash up. 👏🏻 It seemed obvious that someone else would connect those two tracks (bad habits and small town boy) you're the 1st I've seen do it. Maybe there's more idk? I often mash up various songs and melodies in my own head. I suggested the other Ed Sheeran track because I'm interested to see if the mashups in my own head make sense when actually mashed.. Up? If that makes any sense? I just don't possess the technical skills to create said mashups myself. 🤷
@@ShaharVarshal Ok, how about Nalin and Kane Beachball original mix (or similar) and Degrees in motion 'do you want it right now' just the vocal acapella. 🤔 They play together all day in my head ha ha 😄
Hiya, absolutely love this one! Could you do me a huge favour for my sport "Boule" I am Chairman of? I'd love a mash of two songs The Mad Stuntman 'I Like To Move It' & Sam Sham 'Wooly Bully' so that the chorus goes "I like to... Bule Bule, I like to... Bule Bule, Bule Bule, Bule Bule!" So that the mash sounds like the two together make you feel good about playing the sport lots of Bule Bule. Happily pay you a small fee
@@ShaharVarshal Fantastic! It's aka as Petanque the game played mostly in France as their National Sport. We have 10,000 members in the UK who play and I want to promote our game here in the UK. If you look on Tiktok there's a few videos Bournemouth University put together on the beach. Maybe a mash of three songs The Mad Stuntman 'I Like To Move It' & Sam Sham 'Wooly Bully' and Chris Rea "On the Beach" so that the chorus goes "I like to... Bule Bule, I like to... Bule Bule, Bule Bule, Bule Bule, On the beach" using some of those videos? Or another one could be Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now " with the Mad Stuntman and Bouley Bouley mashed together? The notes aren't the same they just sound similar but the notes are different. It's like this with 100s of songs on the radio you hear that sound the same but are using different notes than the original and to get technical I bet you could find some song that could make the same claim about Small town boy. That's just how it is, if you could sue for anything that sounded similar we wouldn't have any music on the radio because there are only so many notes and ways you can play them that in the future nobody will be able to create something original without it looking like they ripped somebody off from the past. Besides that Bad Habits is a way better song IMO than this or the others who claim bad habits was a rip off from them etc.
I knew Bad Habits sounded so familiar. These two go really well together.
Cos ed sheeran is a magpie 😅😅
Not only is the mash up amazing but there’s also the video to accompany it. Excellent 👌
I was just thinking they sounded similar!
Yeah! Me too :)
You hit it out of the park with this one. Thank you!
One of the better mashups I heard all year 👍

Ed start considering a law suit on this one! They sound exactly similar!
Fantastic mix. when i heard the original bad habits i heard bronski beat in the background!!! loved this! Excellent!
This Is Brilliant, Really Well Done, Looove It :D
If I could like this again I would 👍🏻

Je l'écoute en boucle, les deux titres se mélangent tellement bien ensemble 👌😎
Bravo l'artiste pour ce mashup au top 🙏

This is quite beautiful

yes, i pitch him half semi tone
Deux chansons magnifiques qui se subliment l une l autre....merci!

Yes these songs were definitely made for a mashup of each other! Well done again Shahar!
Interesting - I thought it was OTB by York the song reminds me of.
