Some seriously good footage in that lot Mike. I imagine you had a right old day following the special. Credit to the organisers for using such iconic locomotives, notably the 50 on the WCML and especially the Peak over the S&C. Indeed it brought back memories of catching the 'down Thames-Clyde Express' from St. Pancras, reversing at Nottingham, and Leeds before it tackled the gradients up to Ais Gill. I'm sure I read somewhere it was the most train that did the most miles in tunnels in the UK.
I remember using it back in the days of steam heating. Once again, thanks for all the hard work that brings these fabulous videos to enjoy.

Well when I got my head around the change Julian of me doing it on my own all was good.
I second that about the organisers idea to do this tour, and I think most of the location I picked were fine if I say it myself.
Its funny you mentioning the Thames-Clyde train as that came into my mind on the day just before the peak came into view.
Thank you for your kind comment which is much appreciated, regards Mike.

Mike you are correct about what you said on the phone earlier. I am disappointed I missed this day. I think this is one of the best videos I have seen because its all old classic locos at linespeed with full thrash and clag. A real missed opportunity but 1. Im pleased you kept to the plan as that means I can still see your wonderful footage. And 2. Like you said also earlier, family comes first.

Colin its always great for me to cover a tour like this one which was a great idea by LSL, yes I thought shit I'm doing it on my own but that was ok when I got my head around where I was going, and the navigating to some places which I was going to do in the passenger seat.
I was pleased with nearly all of the locations I picked and I proved to myself I could still do many hours of driving, cheers Mike.
