Just a quick break down, the only reason these countrys are so high in ranking is because of population. England is 7th due to its size if it was the same size as these other countrys it would be rank 1. At one point we owned a huge portion of the world and after the conquering and implementations of democracy and railways to these lands we gave them back we gave alot of these countrys the fundamentals to survive in todays world.
The thing is India doesn't need to compete with the UK, so frankly comparing militaries is for fun in this case. India is competing with militaries in the area that they are near or in conflict with. Which (except for China, which is more a political conflict anyway) they are fairly well off in. India isn't in conflict with the UK and probably won't ever be for the foreseeable future. Another thing is that India is a damn young country, we've seen a rapid rise of might like with the US before, and while that's a ridiculous aspiration as I doubt India wants to be a power projector, rather using the military to defend, I think it's fair to say it is definitely possible for India to keep the military up, esp as the economy of the country grows and progresses. I want to see these South Asian countries unify as they were before the British fucked everything up.

India has less attack helicopter because of the need not because they can't afford it .
India's main border is on the top Himalayan region . The mountains are high , the attack helicopter flight is limited as they can't go much higher on some areas .
Using attack helicopters in mountain region isn't a good idea as the man portable anti air guns hiding in those mountains are effective against helicopters , that's why Indian planning to buy LCH ( light combat helicopter ) which go higher than most attack helicopters .
But Indian army have more experience we usually conflict with PAKISTANI and PLA .
