Outpost Theta: Dark Ambient Sci Fi Music for Relaxation

- Lost to the far reaches of deep space, Outpost Theta sits abandoned amidst the desolate Rocklands of Sera Five in the long forgotten Omega system. Left from it's origin of mineral research, it slowly decays in the planet's arid atmosphere, forsaken to eternal demise.

Welcome to Futurescapes! I hope you enjoy this dark ambient video :)
I've got to say, listening to your work in the morning while I'm working on business stuff really gets me in the flow of things. I really like your musical compositions, and I enjoy playing music similar to this myself on piano/guitar. Great use of timing, drone elements, and reverb processing. Kudos!
@@Velico85 Thank you! Really glad you’re enjoying it! :)
Amazing ❤
I was wondering...how do you create these backdrops? I've seen more of them, they're all gorgeous, have this desolate high-tech lonelyness and crisp details.
Thanks! They are generated with Midjourney. Although it's AI and I don't make them from scratch, I come up with the concepts myself and generate to get as close as I can to what's in my head. There are a bunch of ways to add those emotions too. Specifying desolateness, loneliness, melancholy and coming up with an environment that fits those emotions well all result in better and more cohesive outcomes. There is a sort of generic AI look when someone simply puts "cool sci fi art" that doesn't really evoke much emotion and can all look the same. So it's an important step to make sure I'm generating something special that will impact people :)@@renevanderkraats224
The sun in the distant background really sets this image off! Looks incredible.
I once built an outpost on a dead, rocky planet in a remote blue star system without sentinels in No Man's Sky. I called it Outpost Charon. This thumbnail, reminds me of it. It matches the same feeling of loneliness you could experience by spending time in it, the same dread of being stranded on it without knowing if you are truly alone or not. If something is lurking in the shadows, under the black rocks of that dead and remote planet...
Amazing score 🔥
That’s awesome! Makes me want to jump back into NMS and see how my bases are doing! :D
Also your comment reminds me of one of my bases I built on one of those super hostile black and white planets and I built it on the side of a super high cliff with the portal inside so I could teleport there and sit safely inside looking out at the dangerous planet :)
@@Futurescapes-SciFiAmbience thanks dude, I would like too, but sadly my last console, with all my savings, died suddenly two years ago, bringing with it even NMS. I tried a new beginning with my new one, but it doesn't feel the same🥲. Oh well, it has been a long and wonderful run, definitely an experience I'll always remember, especially because I played side by side with my brother
Aw man that sucks! No way to retrieve the save files? Well, there are always great new games to move on to anyways :) @@MaxVes_
@@MaxVes_ There are planets without sentinels? I do not think i have ever seen one
Wow, listening to this playlist, I can sit down and turn into a 50 000 years old space relic :) Amazing!
To all who are here, may the serenity of meditation envelop you, bringing clarity and tranquility.
Outpost Theta, decays and rusts to an eternal demise,
Lost, forlorn, what a crying shame, this did not create emotions of surprise,
In its fertile youth it was buzzing and birthing supplies,
Dark skies, saddened and engrossed by excruciating pain from the whimpering outpost,
Rusted, worthless, unvalued, having served its purpose in the heyday,
No allies, the emptiness and silence shriek for companionship,
Was this the outpost’s punishment, to be felt abandoned? Everyone walked away, no glances shed a tear,
To be tormented by the everlasting darkness, the rust gnawing away towards the heart, time to say goodbye.
Most of these videos get boring after about 10 minutes, this one is a brilliant exception.
this and the sound of the crickets outside my house are so perfect together
not really
Ahhhh! My poor abandoned No Man's Sky bases. I should visit them again. This music, a perfect accompaniment into the infinite.
I know! I feel the same haha haven’t played in months but frequently think about my bases sitting out there in space haha glad you like the music!
like your music mate and thanks for not including annoying ads😀
Awesome atmospheric music
There's something sad and even haunting about abandoned, derelict buildings. We're faced with something that once had purpose, but no longer does... places once alive with activity, but now dead, quiet, and dark. Perhaps it's a reminder that all things in this universe will ultimately end and all the works of our hands will ultimately disappear. But our hope is beyond this mortal veil in the arms of God; the One who was before the beginning and will be after it ends.
Couldn’t agree more!
How I love comments like this! 🙌👌❤️
Hints of Marcus Aurelius in that as well. A very stoic notion at the start.
Thanks Ralph! Just musing about the photo and Brett's music always puts me in the musing sort of mood!@@ralphnickling7250
I definitely agree with some of the Stoic notions.@@Tepetkhet
The fact that you take the bother to actually see and reply to us is a heartwarmer indeed. Thanks for some these really great tracks mate.

Best sound for coding process
Exceptional, dude! EXCEPTIONAL!!

beautiful concept and music
What a great picture and great sounds . True art.
The best outpost I've visited in lightyears.
Glad you like it :)
A light-year is a unit of length, not of time.

I bet half the fun is the backstory to these ethereal soundscapes! Love what you do mate!

This hits me in all the right places. Those soft sequences really set the piece alight for me with everything moving in and out in waves. Beautiful.

There is a few Vangelis Blade Runner influence on it. Awesome stuff!

I find your tracks to be better for my concentration than brain.fm's stuff. Love it.
Thanks! Glad you like it :)
Your description is a little off (wrong) where you said... "it slowly decays in the planet's arid atmosphere, rusting to eternal demise." Just so you know, arid climates are defined by receiving less than 25.4 cm of rainfall per year. An arid climate is dry, with very little if any humidity. Picture the desert. Nothing rusts in an arid climate, particularly machinery. The opposite is in fact true. The outpost you're describing would literally last thousands if not millions of years in an arid climate.
Good point! I was just thinking "hot". I altered the story but kept "decay" as I would think a planet as hostile as this would have other aspects of it's atmosphere that would harm the structure. Whereas arid and rust is a contradiction haha
this is nice
muito bom 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Obrigado!
Great 🖤🖤🖤
like the discription for the outpost
The future is just as lonely as the past ...
"In the distant expanse of deep space, Outpost Theta provides refuge for the inaugural colony of Sera Five, located within the recently unveiled Omega system. Their research have confirmed the planet's habitability, and they await the arrival, within the coming decades, of essential supplies and materials, to be delivered by automated ships dispatched from Earth"
Love it!
Love this art.
Thanks!
I want to apply for a job on that outpost.
❤
The minimal 'ambience' of this eerie landscape arouses the imagination. The minimalistic effects of the snowflakes (or fallout?), the mists and pulsating red light, makes you not only wonder where this desolate outpost is, was or could be, and what its purpose was and that of those beings who inhabited it, but also of its demise. Intriguing scene and stirring music. Thank you for posting.
I love all those reflections! Thank you, glad you like it :)
Although every single one of your tracks is gonna stick with me for the rest of my life, I thought Whiteout was the peak of sci-fi ambience. And then all of a sudden this ambient gold nugget appeared in my news feed...
Is there any chance for us to see a "making of" for any track?
Cheers
Thanks so glad you like it! Currently working on some extra behind the scenes content :)
Hi! What font are you using in the intro? I like it!
Thanks! It’s called Despairs from fontspace.com :)
Dude, u’r really good! What synths and reverb u use?
This music will help humanity to find the balance
Thanks! I use a lot of different stuff but my main things are U-He synths, Synapse Audio synths, Valhalla reverbs, and a reverb called LOVE by Dawesome. The list is much larger but those are some of my favourites haha
@@Futurescapes-SciFiAmbience Thanx. I wish you all the best

On one hand 🤚 too dark and depressing but on the other bright That I do not live in such a building lol 😂 and maybe you could make a Stellar Star ⭐️ based theme one soon 🔜 cool 🆒 peace ☮️
I needed one that said "hopelessness 24/7" thank you thank you thank you. This will be on loop until I finish my book.
Love this, but it doesn't look like rocklands, it looks like the middle of the ocean
Thanks! You mean it looks like it's under water?
It looks like a type of oil platform. Either way if works for me! Thanks
This music triggers deepest emotions inside of me. These emotions I cant explain. At the moment I feel loniless and at the moment deep hunger for love....I dont know...Outer world is nothing comparing with inner world. Inner world is actually Universe. Purpose of my being is a pure Universal, unconditional love. In the world of capitalism which is cancer of society this kind of music triggering God inside of me.
So glad you’re enjoying it :)
Great atmosphere! How to create such an cool animation?
Thanks! I create the image with Midjourney and then put FX and overlays to make the video :)
@@Futurescapes-SciFiAmbience Thank you. Keep up and deliver us more great art!
How long has it been? Weeks? months? years? I have lost track of time. Since the first day I arrived at this rock, I have not been able to sleep well. There is something primitive and secret that dominates my dreams. Communication with the earth was cut off a long time ago, a strange failure in the telecommunicator that I was never able to repair. If it's been so long, why haven't they come looking for me? I'm alone, completely alone. And what terrifies me the most are those ruins not far from here, ruins made of a dark stone that call me to them every night, they need me, they need my flesh and blood to awaken something that has been asleep for a long time. I keep a 34-B revolver in my dresser drawer, in case one night the call of the ruins is irresistible, ending my life before they have me.
Love it!
