Man, trying to work those excavators underneath those low overhead lines looks super challenging! Took me a minute to figure out why they were tracking backward with the booms all the way out. Love the great footage of this monster machine, thank you for sharing.
Also Zeitdruck Deluxe.
I liked the music as it seems to really fit the extremely large iron working the demolition. Very very cool video with excellent quality. Thanks for the post. Really good operators there. That would be a very very high stress level environment to work in with all the overhead obstacles as well as the fear of flying debris coming from the road into the sidewalks. Wow. Really good stuff here. Thanks again. I too would like to know how they keep that equipment so pristine!!! Not even a mark on the counterweight....on any of that iron. wtf
Chad Harzbarger Well i was watching the Machine aswell as im from Switzerland. They usually don't use the Excavator that much mainly for these type of work and they don't rip up the Tracks everyday and that can explain the good condition plus the swiss really look after there machines (mostly). It's likely to be a new Excavator aswell bye the looks of it Eberhard is a very big company too
Looks like Godzilla tearing the rails and concrete. Imagine the weight of that monster! So heavy it can jut rip apart steel and concrete like it was taking the top ice out of a frozen lake.
Is tracking back with bucket engaged really ideal? Manufacturers state never to do this as its obviously putting extreme loads on the pins. Works well in this situation though👍🏻
CAT power for an efficient and fast job - sensible firm. I don't think you could have used a larger machine (CAT 5110B), - it would have been too large for the job, also it would have had to be erected and dismantled on site for moving it - waste of time, when time matters and possibly the 'overhead wiring' would have had to be taken down.
It might work but probably not quite as well just because of the design of the attachment on the excavator. The way it gets underneath the rail and pops it up ands he tracks along is very effective. I think it would be hard to to the same with a ripper.
@@C8mon Also think thats the issue, even when the ripper is switched for the open bucket. But when it comes to wheight / traction the dozer has the advantage.
Those fellas holding the screens are taking a hell of a risk standing that close to the business end. Also not sure what use the screens would be if a lump of concrete flicks off the end of a piece of that rail...
All those brand new machines without a scratch on them, is this a showcase for CAT Switzerland, or did someone just suddenly get rich and decide to buy himself a construction company?
It is a company that owns a huge fleet of excavators and dump trucks, and they mainly do difficult jobs like this, or removing hazardous waste from old dumps, or demolition or rock work, that most contractors would not touch, work in rivers, and they run a special plant to clean and remediate soil that contains all kind of dangerous stuff and poisons, to reuse it. So they earn a lot more money, than a company that only digs holes and trucks off earth. So they can have a good workshop staff and hire good operators. But specially when it comes to public transport switzerland ist TOP (i am not swiss, i am form austria, but you cannot put that away from the swiss). The train crews are always nice and friendly, and almost every train is ON TIME, and their major concern is to keep delays and trouble from their clients, a tram way repair like this, which they do in a weekend, or a week or two depending on size, in Austria or Germany would take months, lines would close down, buses would be over full and late, other train lines would be delayed etc. NOT IN SWITZERLAND.
He should have rotated the tracks 180 degrees and pulled on the sprocket, not on the front wheel. Pulling the way he did puts a lot of pressure on upper buggies, as well as binding the track that is on the ground.

@Mascha Gerber it is about the pavement. The PAVEMENT must be ripped up to access the pipe, if the pipe was just resting on top of the road no machine needed. Do you know what a ripper is on a dozer? I never said anything about the front blade lol.
It‘s a Cat 395 UHD, so yes it’s a high reach. There is a long front arm, and for the track demolition they obviously use the short boom and mount a short dipper arm, to fit under the tram wiring.

No it’s just good quality operators
Companies like this will loan machinery dependant on contracts they have so the could be a few months old drafted in to do that specific job.
