Yes the old reformed all star list. Men with big brains who love to hit the preachers conference circuit. I’ll take the unknown small church preacher that makes $16 an hour and still visits sick members in the hospital and spends more time with orphans and widows instead of hours upon hours in his study with his many leather bound books.

Good advice but over everything he mentioned is that you must have LOVE for the people you are preaching to. Knowledge does not move people like the Love of God.

Well look at every leader in the Bible. They were the least likely and many afraid. Moses was a stuttering fool, we had a woman Israelite leader. Joshua said “ me lord? But I’m the least of my family.” As a preacher we are leaders. And I believe Christ has given me all I need to take this first step

I agree, I want to do youth ministry and my entire life I have served and I new something was there. Even as a young child I was helping my parents in vbs. Now I am under the wing of my youth pastor and am beginning to speak at youth as well as also lead small groups at children's church on Sundays.
You can go to college for 12 years for ministry, but experience trumps all.

Many people say I should be a pastor because of the way I speak. They say its amazing and even I am amazed on how I can preach. I tell them unfortunately I am not qualified according to the requirements and rules set by man. I can not preach in a church, i even find myself preaching to pastors and once i was meant to be a the next pastor for a small town church. Again, the rules set by Man and the US Mystery Babylon the great will not allow me to to be so. I proclaim I am qualified and worthy to be a pastor......YHWH grants me this and man gets in the way like the Devil. I hold nothing against them and move on. The existing pastors shall preach and I to see my mission still. Bless you in the Name of the Word of Life thy Authority who is in Spirit and live forever.

First, it should be an evident gift, recognized by others, and encouraged by others.
Most of what is said in this video isn’t practical, and likely not possible for most. I know it isn’t for me.
We should not set an impossible standard for those answering the call. What is stated in this video is opinion, not scripture. Always take wise counsel in prayer.
Anyone who is answering the call should pray, trust God, walk by faith, put your hand to the plow and not turn back. Everything else varies according to the individual’s situation and experience.

Can someone help me with this question?
As much of a Spurgeon fan as I am, I am a bit confused by his qualification that his students must have led people to Christ in order to join his seminary. Wouldn't this fly in the face of our primary concern be to preach, not to convert? Shouldn't Pastors be content that God will do His work in our ministries regardless of outcomes? Or are we responsible for the conversion of souls? Does that then mean that if someone faithfully preaches the Word for several years and sees no converts that he should step down in ministry? What about Noah? What about Jeremiah? These were righteous heralds with no converts. Please, help me with this question.

Prescribe and teach these things. Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe. Until I come, give attention to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation and teaching. Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, which was bestowed on you through prophetic utterance with the laying on of hands by the presbytery. Take pains with these things; be absorbed in them, so that your progress will be evident to all. Pay close attention to yourself and to your teaching; persevere in these things, for as you do this you will ensure salvation both for yourself and for those who hear you.
      1 Timothy 4:11‭-‬16 NASB
This text is the most explicit about the preacher, as well as Romans 10. Here in Timothy Paul says that proper preaching will "ensure salvation" for those who here. Timothy will do this specifically by taking pains in the soundness of his teaching and growth in sanctification. While we should certainly leave the result up to God, his word does not go out without accomplishing its purpose.
Romans 10 says faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. If it is our job to proclaim the word of Christ, it will certainly produced circumcised ears which in turn exercise faith. The word of God is powerful to convert, and God has promised that He will indeed bless the proclamation of His Word with conversion to Christ. I hope these few texts help.

I think it's more from a ministerial practical standpoint. Spurgeon had a strong evangelistic fervor aside from being an excellent pastor/preacher. "As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry." (2 Timothy 4:5, ESV)

Also what I think Steve is saying. Is you conversation Genuine. Perhaps he is saying do you have true consolation with the HOLY Spirit, fellowship with CHRIST. Have you desired to Evangelize, concerns for the lost. If you met these qualifications, then you where excepted into SPERGON'S University. I believe that He would want the real thing. Born agine . Not a false convert. You can buy a ordained Pastoral certification online. I Guess I would do the same thing , if I was SPERGON. Hope that helps. Do some use it as a vocation, absolutely not realizing the danger they are putting themselves in. ITS God's Words, and no one should even dare to TRIFLE WITH GOD. As RC Sproul once Said, " GOD plays for Keeps ".

A pastor's responsibility is to edify the saints, encourage them, teach them, support them and such like. If you want to preach the gospel and see soul's saved, then become an evangelist. There are different gifts to men in the assembly and they should all work together for the glory of God and Christ Jesus.

Hey praise God that you feel called to ministry! 😊 I am so happy to hear that!
But please remember that Charlie Kirk and Matt Walsh are not great examples as Christian mentors. They typically do social topics, but in order to preach you much fully know God and his plan of salvation! Not sure if your church background but some true men of God you can truly learn from on RUclips are those like Dr Michael Brown, some stuff from Isaiah Saldivar, Sam Storms, Craig Groeschel, and even go back and listen to the likes of Leonard Ravenhill and David Wilkerson from the past.
If you leam more "reformed" and don't believe in gifts of the spirit, you could listen to John Macarthur, Steven Lawson and Voddie bocham. I am charismatic but still listen to these guys from time to time.

from my understand the Bible says that women should not teach the word as a preacher “A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent” (1 Timothy 2:11-12). However it is up to your believes and I fully encourage you to get closer to Christ.

Live and grow up to maturity, and then you can tell others the way. Unless one has trodden The Way you cannot have any authority with you to preach to others, and to know how to deal with the objects that come in The Way of life.Young seminarians are very sickly, say much, know little of how to deal with life, and this is were maturity, men of God come in, and what is more God only brings to his ministry mature souls, men of God, fits them, indeed, out to be so, and grave spirits they will possess.Today the Arminian attitude and stance has taken over and the pulpit has become, therefore, a performance piece for people to seek to get others to admire them, and cursed from the same pulpit they are.No one wishes, today, to listen to the Puritans, but liteness and shallowness of the Demas's of this world, false shepherds, the Spurgeon's, Moody's, etc

Jesus told us that the Spirit who will lead us into truth, and this man believes that we need to go to other men for truth. There is a fundamental disconnect in the church today. It cares nothing for the living person of Jesus Christ. It speaks and behaves as if he is not standing in the exact same room. A human leader is a wolf in sheep's clothing when God established himself as the leader. Follow men like this at your peril.

What I’d say to any young man thinking of becoming a preacher, would be, - make sure in your heart that you know that this is something that God has called you to do. You can only do this by prayer and deep supplication to the Lord and only you and God will truly know. Many young, ‘pastors’ are not ‘called’ by God. They are pastors doing a ‘job’ for money. They are known as ‘Hirelings’. They are paid very good money and are often given free housing by the parish. Often, you find out that their fathers were also pastors/hirelings. Yes, I’m sure they ‘believe’ they were ‘called’ by God - however their actions say different. Many of these men are fine men and they do well with their respective congregations, however many are heretic in their teaching of Gods word. I’ve seen and heard many like this - many. I often wonder if they believe in vain? I’ve seen many pastors ‘retire’ from their job of pastoring. Pastors called by God never retire from preaching Gods word. They never stop sowing seeds. They will actually prefer to drop dead at the pulpit rather than, ‘retiring’. These are the gifts of men that the Holy Spirit resides in and these are the men that were called by God to minister his word. One must always endeavour to worship our wonderful and loving God in spirit and truth and that’s a rare thing these days. MARANATHA 🤷🙏

The video title doesn’t fit the advice given. It’s fine advice when it comes to preaching, but it’s only of the duties of a pastor. Making disciples was more important to Jesus. If you’re going to give young aspiring pastors a heads up, then give them more real talk on leading a church, and not just the preaching portion of the calling.

  • @RealGamer336
    @RealGamer336 11 месяцев назад +2

So preaching = pastor? I’m sorry but I think this is a huge problem in the western church. You can be a gifted preacher but not be a good pastor. Every pastor should be able to preach but not every preacher should be a pastor. A pastor must know and be equipped to shepherd, disciple, and offer care for those he has been entrusted with. God takes the shepherding of his people very seriously and I think the western church would be far better off if men spent just as much time learning how to shepherd, counsel, and disciple as they do learning how to preach.
