Good morning, as others have stated, I needed this. As a pastor of nearly six years, I have become discouraged; but this message has given me a bit of encouragement. I realize that I will not be liked by everyone, so I need to stop trying to be liked and focus on teaching, preaching, and leading the flock. By the way, my wife of 35 years was sitting here listening. Thank you again.
Good Lord thank you for this message. I needed it. I'm discouraged with my own church right now and seeing this was salve to my soul. Serve my True Master not the little masters.
I am ordained (SBC) and recently been approached to submit my resume to a needing church. I came across Pastor Begg's message. Much needed to refresh me of my calling.
how you know you were called though
You cannot do anything else, with a good conscience. Having the hand of God upon you is a gravity that that will cause you to submit. When you King commands you must obey. That is how you know
Absolutely beautiful. As one hoping to enter pastoral office one day, a newlywed, a local missionary for children, and as a guy who just happens to be named Matthew, this message was beautiful and encouraging. I could have sworn that he was describing my wife even though he was describing another man's wife. Thank you Lord for this message.
I read a commentary that stated that the Pastor-teacher role is one in the same , Meaning the Pastor must be able to teach God”s people.
I agree to that commentary.
