The photos app has been buggy for a long time. Sometimes it takes WAYYY too long to open anything, sometimes when you leave it running in the background it starts hogging your memory (guessing it has a memory leak).
If microsoft still use the YYMM format from the version of windows, the 20h2 needs to be the 2009 (i think they didn't do that because for a possible confusion with windows 7)
@@igorthelight 20H2 was called 2009 but called october 2020 update. That was the same case for 2004, it was the may 2020 update so it should be called 2005 but it’s not.
As im a gamer i would love a mode where you could choose which aplications should get resources and which shouldnt. What i mean is that you practically unload everything (including as much of windows as possible) exept the chosen aplications to save more ram and processor.
@@sixbox9634 I personally always debloat before using windows 10. Just to make sure you dont got any updates while debloating cause that can mess with things. But yea just be careful about these kind of scripts.
I personally liked the control panel more since the new one is laggy and takes a lot of time to respond in contrast of the control panel. the settings app is smoother tho, like butter smooth, but i personally prefer responsive apps as oposed to laggy apps
I appreciate your video and providing all the info on this video. It does not look like there is a big difference between the two versions. Even speed which is usually what I look for is not that much to look for. So for now I will stay with whatever update I have on
@@beanosdrhm7849 it is still present but the only reason Microsoft wants people to move to the settings app is because it is more limited, meaning Microsoft has more control then you do. Typical of them. If it is not broken, don't fix it, however, Microsoft never got that memo.

@@lis05h I can't, I have a lot of important info on my laptop. Also, performance takes a drastic hit, even the simplest tasks become laggy as hell. Each update makes my laptop slower and slower, and it is no slouch to begin with (i7-7700HQ). It came with 1603 and while that was the smoothest, it was missing mouse gestures. I would like to upgrade further than 1709 but each successive update breaks my laptop more and more, either in terms of bugs and/or performance.
@@ThejusRao thats why backup exists. You get an external hard drive , back up , reinstall windows and then recopy the files and reinstall your programs for the internet. Beleive me bro. An i7 doesn't deserve to be like that. Do a clean install of 20h2 and you're good. Backup at yoyr own risk

Honestly, ever since the updates of 2018 that wiped out all data, and BSOD errors after updates, I've been scared about updating windows. With my luck, something will definitely go wrong and I'll be stuck with a brick again

I prefer the old one though. The Settings app in general looks so childish and smartphoneish, and also it constantly freezes for me when I minimize it.
you get the security updates separately and because 20H1 ist still supported you get them on both, but my opinion: always update to the latest version if you can, and if you have stability concerns wait 6 months
The thing they did to make it smaller is they compressed down most of the legacy parts to be decompressed when needed. You still have IE for for legacy compatibility you don't really have it for the main browser anymore as you have Edge now. The other part they compressed was .net framework to be decompressed when you actually need it similar to how they did it with 3.5 and 4 now 2 is just compressed but not uninstalled. etc. etc. with compression to get it down a few GB without actually removing anything while keeping limited combability for all the way back to windows 98 with full combability back to XP.
Do you still have your Windows.old files? I did the mistake of deleting it but luckily my PC is performing decently but as you’re going through issues you should try going back to 1909
20H2 is a minor update of 20H1 (2004). The biggest update is that Edge Chromium replaces Edge Legacy. This new version of Edge is much better than the old Edge. In some ways, it may be better than Google Chrome. While the old Edge, called Edge Legacy that originally came with Windows 10 is better than Internet Explorer, it wasn't good enough and not popular which is why Microsoft replaced with Edge Chromium
I updated mine from the Update Assistant instead of waiting for MS to push it in Settings and got a weird bug where some system app taskbar icons would be hidden. I did a fresh reinstall using Media Creation Tool (20H2) and my computer is now faster than ever.
it helps in the event you’re using it on an older pc and don’t have a flash drive or hard drive to put it on. also, blu-rays can hold 25gb and blu-ray is still also a very popular format

But whenever I try to access Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp Web in Microsoft Edge an error message shows with the classic "Hmmm, you can't reach this site" I've had this problem for almost a month and still can not figure it out. All the windows systems are up to date but the problem is still present.
Who is still burning ISO's onto DVDs instead of USB flash drives. The slow loading of a photo has always been a problem in Windows 10. It's like sometimes it can take a very long time loading a photo the first time or even not at all where you have to close it and do the second time.
that task view feature with individual pages in Edge showing as a task, is reminiscent to the behaviour of Internet Explorer in Windows Phone systems pre-Win10
The tablet changes, Edge showing tabs in Alt-Tab and Refresh rate in Settings are already in 20H1. I'm not sure why comparison videos keep saying they're new in 20H2.

hey man had the same issue. Go and download this tool: www.carifred.com/tech_tool_store/ After installing make a backup of your registry, and windows. Next go into the "System Maintenance" area and click "windows update fixer" or something along those lines. Once finished restart your pc, then run it again and attempt to update.

Same! Even Movies and TV. I use Picasa 3.9 (I know, not so secure) and VLC.
If you are using a 5400 rpm hdd that might be the case because that happened to me but when I used a 7200rpm hdd it fixed it

Just to note....20H2 and 21H2 ISO WILL fit on a Std DVD. However 22H2 and Windows 11 22H2 ISO WILL burn to a DUAL layer DVD no problem at all.

Don’t overlook alongwith new updates there are some security updates as well
