Saga - One of the first Canadian rock bands I grew up listening to, along with Aldo Nova, Bryan Adams and Honeymoon Suite, etc. Saga has a sound that is timeless. Still sounds as good today as back then.

Saw them live in Budapest in 82 or 3 and at Maple Leaf Garden,Toronto,a year or 2 later,the best concert experience ever.No Rush or Pink Floyd could ever come close to their first 2 albums.

Takes me back when I was 16. Ian influenced my playing. I had a Floyd Rose tremelo installed on my guitar....because Ian used one on the entire record

Incroyable vraiment incroyable... comme beaucoup de monde, j'aime vraiment la musique en général et ce pour tous les styles de musique mais si il y a une variété ou je fonds totalement c'est bien la NEW WAVE, en effet je suis né en 1982 et j'ai beau me demander pourquoi j'ai des frissons en entendant les synthés, le rythme des années 80 me bouleverse à m'émouvoir sans pouvoir l'expliquer et ce genre de chanson en fait partie. Je ne connaissais pas du tout ce groupe, j'ai écouté l'album et il est bien sans être excellent à mes yeux, je ne comprends pas les toutes les paroles mais peut importe il faut être indulgent car je ressens et écoute profondément les musiques et celle ci est très très très bien. Pour moi le classique de ce groupe peut connu pour un Français de 38 ans. L'album est de 1983 et je suis né en 1982, soyez pas trop dur avec moi...

One of their top two or three most awesome tracks ! Jim Gilmour ( one of the most under-rated synth guys on the planet, and super chill guy) killed the vocal on this, its sort of operatic. Wish he did more of the singing, but alas only a couple of lead vocals over the years.
Even 40 years later he still has the lungs to hit those high note...and He does a quasi-unplugged version occasionally with gorgeous keyboard self-accompaniement. Check out this one from 2018 in Vancouver where he was touring with the band "Toronto": ruclips.net/video/TrZYFYBD6iU/видео.html
Check out the Safety Zone album that Jim sings on, from the other project he was on in 84~. No Parade is an absolute banger
Jim Ironically was the lead singer in his pre-Saga band... Can't quite remember if he or Mike was in Saga first cuz I do think Jim may have been Saga's first lead singer also.
@@ryanjacobson2508 Jim Gilmour joined for Saga's third album. Michael was a founding member.
To the general point, Jim has been doing a lot of lead vocals on their later albums (Press 9, It Doesn't Matter Who You Are), but fan opinions on those are rather divided.

I`ve been to the show in Uden (The Netherlands) the show was excellent; much classic songs e.g. don`t Be Late, Not alone, Humble Stance.

And here I thought Michael Sadler did the vocals for this song all along.
It was Jim Gilmour's second lead vocal for the band.
I thought so as well, but after listening to "Don't be late!", he also does the verse with Michael Adler, I thought, that's the voice of this song.

Seems this single edit has an added bass drum, compared to the album version (and left-out parts). This is taken from the German music show 'Flashlights', I think. 'Only' 30 years ago ;)

Not apparent lip-syncing, that was actual lip-syncing. And the keyboards were all rented for the taping - not thier usual gear in that period.

Yet one more jewel of the golden era of Saga, but admit, in retrospect: those earrings look completely ridiculous ! But then again, that was the period that even the members of Rush seemed inspired by Duran Duran when it came to looks.... What people not all do for some extra earnings...
