Why is Africa is So Rich Yet So Poor?

  • Africa's Stolen Wealth - Paradox of Plenty.
Africa has been branded by many as a rich continent and by others, a continent of poverty. Africa is blessed with a massive variety and quantities of natural resources.
The continent holds around 30% of the world's known mineral reserves. These include oil and natural gas reserves, uranium, diamonds and gold.
One can't help but wonder, why is it that a continent with such vast potential wealth can remain so poor, precipitating a paradox of plenty. Following extensive research on this, I share with you a phenomenon I believe is the anchor linchpin reason for the poverty in Africa.
In addition, I share my findings on the misleading narrative that Africa needs Aid and that the continent gobbles up aid and does relatively little to contribute to the global economy in return. The usual aid narrative is backwards, in every bit of money that comes into the continent from aid, much, much more money is leaking out, making Africa the richest, yet poorest continent.

He who controls the narrative controls the mind of the people and those who control thé narrative are thé very ones impoverishing thé African continent. This is why Africa needs its own very indepent média To inform ,educate and decolonise our minds for thé betterment of thé future générations. Just one of thé numerous ways for Africa To trully fly on its own amongst others.

Well the Reason it was such a scare is not because it came from Africa but the nature of Ebola's virology & abnormal transmissibility.
Viruses can normally only replicate in a host or clean environment with certain various requirement being met.
Ebola has the abnormal ability to replicate in near any environment regardless of how clean or unclean.
Western scientists where highly worried at 1st glance for if it wasn't for the fact it can only cause serious harm or casualty to those malnourished.
it could have possibly have been a threat to the globe that world be far more then the present concerning virus.
Why nutrition of the developing world became a much more became a much more major concern after Ebola in the hopes to eliminate it or at least slow it before further notable adaptation. Only reason the quality of live has become better out side the west in recent decades is literally to save westerners own hides.
They call it charity & humanitarian effort but it is self interest for self preservation & is not selfless as primary but as side effect I suppose?
Don't know why 'you love' said continent, it's just land.
Tell you the truth it not anyone making I said look bad, it genuine well founded reasoning.
Truth eco-geography is not on the favour of most southern land masses located along the tropics.

2.Stop our leaders from exporting our natural resources
3.Use those resources to build a better Africa

I'm half-Chinese half-European and have lived in both China and European countries. Seeing the biased portrayal of China by Western media, I realized that I should take everything else it says with a grain of salt. I've so far identified several major groups of consistent biased portrayal: China, India (rape land with no toilets), Islamic countries (everybody's a woman-oppressing terrorist) and of course Africa (starving children drought land). This led me to look for alternate news of these regions, which led me here.
I'm in Belgium right now and I still regularly come across charities asking us to donate to 'poor people in Africa' and whatnot. This made me think about issues with the concept of volunturism that I read a while back though: you had these 'volunteers' flying over on expensive flights so they could build wells for those poor Africans, and they leave feeling happy and superior. Meanwhile, the stuff they made breaks down after a while, the locals could have done a much better job themselves if they'd just be handed a fraction of the cost, and for the cost of the volunteer's whole trip, many locals could have received training in many useful skills.
Foreign charity is often just there to make Western donors feel good about themselves. It doesn't care about efficiency of capital allocation or long-term impact. That needs to come from the locals themselves. In fact, your video shows that they could possibly be helping a lot more if they offered tools and knowledge on building more transparent capital control systems.

You qualified your phrase: illegal capital flight. I don't have very much in the way of data. Having lived in Liberia during my high school and understanding what I do about the political and social dynamics in African countries, I would be inclined to agree. It seems that all too often Africans might be heard complaining about legal capital flight ( even though that too has its own set of unique challenges ). The tax enforcement piece is definitely very significant. I do think that where that is concerned that it may be an issue with record-keeping.

But let's not forget that even at the time when Europeans came to Africa and began colonizing it (for 400 yrs),they saw civilizations and works of art and that's why to this day most of those works of art remain in European museums. United States gained independence in 1776 and has been continuously on receiving end of capital flight for the last 200 years, especially from Europe. China has been "independent" since before Christ and it is massively hemorrhaging capital now. So if you think being independent for longer will somehow help with capital flight, you should think again. It is all about the relationship between state/system and the rich people. If there is no trust and understanding between the two about best practices in regards to asset security, in other words if rich are afraid that the state will rob them blind now or in 20 or 50 years for whatever reasons they will move their capital somewhere more secure - for example United States.

It might be a tad long but read me out;)
It's not what you say alone though it plays a decent part. Even china's private out flow is low at about 100billion a year as a near closed which makes up 1 part of many concerning capital flight.
I do not mean to be rude but a certain amount of economic flight is expected in an economy. The most common reason for extreme capital flight to occur is usually a regime change, a sudden high tax increase or globalization/sudden new out competing goods to the market that out compete local suppliers.
If either of these 3 mentioned problems occur then it will will not only have a shock on the nation it occur in but the closest trade normally neighbouring nations that rely on that nation for goods in local production. The 3 causes mentioned often have good short term but in the term the economy of that nation & those that surround it suffer.
you say the outside world is entirely to blame but that is only fraction of the problem capital flight. it is caused more so my the majority of the countries in said continent having terrible financers & economic policy.
What also really keeps so many of Africa's population in poverty are 2 major reasons that I noticed, Wealth distribution internally & the lack of any real welfare system's-facilities.
The upper class wants for nothing & while everyone else has little to nothing.
Much like east Asia I find Africa to very much be a caste based society though that might not be the exact term?
Mind their are exceptions to my observations in the continent but I find this to be the common trend.
you talk of the riches of Africa but no society has ever come out of poverty on mineral from wealth for it only rewards the highest of said society & gives no incentive to improve commoners condition of living or work. If your employers have no reason to pay you more besides a moral one then why would they?
Business people do nothing out of kindness or charity regardless of complexion.
Even how you talk Risen Africa show a great level of innocence, offence intended but you shouldn't be so trusting.
    A few Limey Blight saying's to savvy;
'What one say's & what one does are 2 very different things''
''The most harm often comes from home/your own''
Another favourite; 'You can pick your friends, but you can't pick your family''
Thank you & apologies for the length, if you have read this!

I can agree that the real reason why there are a lot of poor African citizens is because of colonization and slavery along with it being compared with other countries like the Great Britain or France because of them having about 300 years to develop and colonize, Therefore making it unfair. Africa still doesn't have the complete advantage of no longer being poor and finally being able to have no poverty because of a lot more money coming out of Africa's total GDP than the money coming in. Soon Africa will rise and fix its problems and its people will be able to live better lives. I really have been enjoying Risen Africa's Content and can't wait to see more uploads. That's one thing that's always kind of bugged me about many European former colonizers: they often like to tout their equality, freedom, successful socialism, post WW2 construction efforts, and economic success but many of these countries continue to benefit from exploitation of Africa. Democratic and wealthy Switzerland for example got caught utilizing african farms where children were enslaved and forced work and many companies like Dutch Shell and British Petroleum make a fortune off exploiting African resources and all this money gets funneled into those European countries who can also benefit from buying cheap African goods to keep their cost of living down and their taxes high (if you can buy a good for half the normal price you can stick a 100% tax on it and sell it at the normal price while the government pockets a fortune without suffering the drawbacks of a 100% tax).

The long lasting legacy of the slave trade, colonialism, neocolonialism through central banking, no decent infrastructure, the scramble for resources by foreigners, and corrupt governments, are the major reasons why Africa finds itself in such a predicament.

    • @abesapien9930
      @abesapien9930 2 года назад +1

Good grief, he literally made a point to NOT make a point about colonialism, which he put in a column of "old" explanations. Yet here you are repeating anti-white liberal talking points. Can you list for me three African countries that were rich, modernized, and flourishing, before a colonial invasion took place? Because you seem to be making the argument that Africa was doing quite well for itself, and then suddenly the white colonialists ruined it for Africa forever. Countries do bounce back. Europe was decimated to ashes in WW2, and yet almost all of those countries have thrived since then. Their pain is even more recent than the slave trade, but they aren't using that "legacy" as an excuse to not grow and move on.
