You guys asked for it, so here it is; my comparison of the Crazy Explosive and D Rose 7 from adidas. They both feature Boost and Primeknit buy each model provides a different experience that suits a particular play style. Which one works best for you? Only one way to find out...

its an old flag ship model but my old phone was 480p and my new phone is 1080p so everything looks better
great comparison...if you're the type of player that doesnt fly too much and main attribute is your handles then go with rose 7 for courtfeel and stability,,,,,now if you're the other guy a frequent jumper then put on those crazy explosives
I REALLY hope they have different material options on the next colorways like a jacquard upper at least because I'm not the guy who's gonna have a rotation of shoes. I'd get super pissed if the eyelets started snapping cause that means its on borrowed time lol

I have the Rose 7. The length/foot sliding in the shoe was an issue until I put a different insole in it. That actually fixed it.
I hope Adidas makes another Crazy Explosive for 2017 and fixes the minor issues this year's model has, especially the outsole.

he already broke one eyelead for playing for a month, one more breaks at the same place and it's game over, the shoe is useless by then because you can't lace it properly as it already has far too little eyeleads.

Hey jahron quick question: what shoe has the best impact protection right now, and what shoe has the best impact protection ever? (Of shoes you've played in obviously)
Shoe or basketaball shoe? If its shoes in general, the Speedform Fortis. If its basketball shoes, probably these.
My season is 3 and a half months long, practices 5 days a week, 2 hours a practice. Will the Crazy Explosive last my whole season???
I don't think any shoe can last that long really. Shoes just ain't built like they used to be, but you can probably make it work.

Garrison Christian you need to have a shoe rotation even with just 2-3 good pairs because even a shoe as tough as the clb 2016 could fall apart a bit.

I am half filipino but that is not where Ako came from.
jaron, have you tried the neoprene version of the crazy explosives? would you say the upper on that is more durable than the knitted version?
I wouldn't say its more durable. About the same probably.

How much does the material impact performance, prime knit is nice, but it doesn't look like to will last. So how big of a step down is the alternate material?
Longevity isnt really a factor. It's more of a bonus. The primeknit is still the best material I've ever used in a ball shoe.

I'm not sure that I really get what boost is. I understand it's cushion yeah, so does that mean you might be able to play longer without aches in your feet... or impact protection from high jumps?
Both. Those are the main two goals of any cushion setup. Boost just happens to be the best or at least one of the best cushioning materials on the market
Well I'm so glad that I bought Crazy Explosive, only it ate my money, and own the Jacquard version, but worth it. #TeamDRose though, I wish to buy one as well.

I actually don't have a pair of Ultra Boosts because i use my Speedform Fortis' for comfort.

I see.. this is nice.. I play SF/PF and most of the time I play defense and rebounding (I can score when needed but if my teammate a scorer, I'd be back to rebounding.) I guess explosive would really fit me..

I can't say. Don't have the KD 9's. Its probably just a different kind of bounce.

So do I. I have torn ligaments in my right ankle and dislocation in my left. Both models were fine for myself, but if you want the model with more support, that would be the Rose 7.

OtakuDubtex forget the shoe u need physical therapy.. Trust me in my early 20s my ankles were glass. The only thing that helped was thousands of reps of various ankle strength /mobility exercises.

It's probably be more durable, but the Primeknit is a main selling point of the Explosives and I haven't seen a review on the fit and lockdown of the other material
The other material is just a neoprene type material that's stretchy. I wouldn't say its more durable, its just different.

Have JAHRONMON mentioned that D lillard 2 is good for outdoors? The Traction doesn't look the most durable though they have continental rubber. Woudn't the traction not good when dust is present?
I did not say this. The Lillard 2's are my go to outdoor sneaker and even though the tread does wear down, they still grip really nicely outdoors for me.

Hyperdunk 2016 or Crazy Explosive. The dunk isn't a true high top, but it still counts imo

I've used them outdoors and the grip is less than ideal. They'll last long but the grip was not good.
