As a tourist from the UK who visited Morocco, i witnessed locals shooing very old poor people away when they took leftovers off tables that no one was sat at I was in Essaouira in the medina. A lady crooked bent over about 80+ years, took a disgarded piece of bread from an empty table, and the owner came out and shoooed her off like a street dog - I couldn't believe it, i was sitting drinking coffee, and i had just given what little change i had to another poor beggar I had to ask my friend to borrow some money off him to give to the old lady People looked at me whilst i did this, but i do not care. i can not enjoy a coffee whilst people are hungy eating scraps of food trying to survive for another day It saddened me that another lady was sitting on the floor with an adult son who was clearly disabled and like a child in his ways By this time, i had no money to help. I really was shocked that in a muslim country in such a riny community in such an old neighbourhood area that these people were NOT supported in anyway. They have golden mosques 🕌 and black hearts............. I also witnessed the men sat behind doorways drinking alcohol and many times, my brother was asked if he wanted to buy hash One older man also walked beside me and touched my butt - when in shocked i turned to look who did this he smiled straight at me with a look of deviance Before all these experiences, i respected other people's culture and religion, i supported and gave money to the immigrants in the UK who were sat on the floor. Nah; religion is supposed to convict you, then change you and then the blessings follow you. Once I heard a pastor's wife preach, a 'sermon' I will never forget. She said you see some people, prospering, but yet their lives are not in sync with anything spiritual. Her conclusion was, that persons in their generations before were good, so the blessing is still on the children and childrens life. So sometimes you look at these modern day Indians, they have a spiritual look about them, but at the same time they have a bewitched spirit written all over them. I would call it the 'double-minded' spirit. My husband is an Arab Muslim and we are upon Salafiyyah, living in Saudi Arabia. My husband was approached by a Nigerian Muslim in the city we're in. He told my husband about how he was sleeping in abandoned homes and in mosques, and crying from hunger at some points. My husband helped find him a roommate, helped him a bit with food, gave him his old phone and gives him rides when he needs it. They're still in contact with each other and my husband helps him when he asks for aid. I don't think my husband would behave this way at all. Someone who truly practices Islam would not turn away another person just asking for food. This is condemned in Islam. I'm very sad to see this video.

I just had to Google about certain verses in the Qur'an about giving food to the hungry. I was surprised with these 3 verses that I found: Al-Balad 90: 14-18 "Or to give food in times of famine, to an orphaned relative, or to a poor person in distress, and-above all-to be one of those who have faith and urge each other to have perseverance and urge each other to have compassion; these are the people of the right". Al-Insan 5-8 "and give food-despite their desire for it-to the poor, the orphan, and the captive". Surah Al-Insan 76:8 "and they give food, despite their love for it, to the needy, and the orphan, and the captive". I think giving food to the hungry and the needy isn't just about religion at all but about humanity. Regardless of what religion one follows, we all should have compassion with one another--rich or poor, hungry or full.

I'm a Dutch christian and when i was in Medan, Indonesia, a lot of people ask me for money. I always give them some food or bought something for them. Most of them were muslim. It's good to help them.
I'm a Muslim and same thing happen with me when i was in Frankfurt couple of years ago, where a lot of German homeless asking me for money, I always buy them food.
True story. A hungry brother visited a mosque (I won’t mention the country) and after praying Dhuhr, he stood up and said he didn’t eat for several days and implored people to feed him. The brother was quickly told to shut up and not to disturb the worshippers by the mosque management. He stayed in the mosque and kept on praying and just sitting in the mosque till Asr prayer. Then after praying Asr, he stood up and told the people the same as before and that he was hungry. The same thing happened and he was told to shut up and to have shame and to stop disturbing people by the mosque management. He didn’t leave and stayed there until maqrib and after finishing the maqrib prayer, the brother passed away. Then thats when the people rushed to him to offer first aid and attempt to take him to the hospital and what have you but it was too late as he was dead and returned to his Lord. The saddest thing about the story of that brother is that there was at least one restaurant inside that mosque and not one person had the wisdom to feed him. Everyone ignored him and was shunned. The truth is that only Allah knows where each of us will end up so if you can help anyone by buying them a meal or at least treating them with kindness then please do help as you never know how much one meal might mean to someone. It might be the very difference of life and death. Anyways, thought i would share that. May Allah ta’ala forgive us all and make each and every muslim person free from needing anyone. Ameen.

Honestly, I learned a lesson from this video. I often criticize my Somali people, focusing on our weaknesses as a community. But I’ve realized that there are many areas where we excel, yet we only notice the negative things that are wrong with us. In this aspect, we are better than Arabs. It depends on the Arab country. I am Arabic and I can tell you who is more hospitable. The countries that have seen war like Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, and Palestine are hospitable because they know what it is like to lose everything and go hungry. Countries like Jordan, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia are not hospitable as they live comfortably and have never been hungry.

I couldn't believe it, i was sitting drinking coffee, and i had just given what little change i had to another poor beggar
I had to ask my friend to borrow some money off him to give to the old lady
People looked at me whilst i did this, but i do not care. i can not enjoy a coffee whilst people are hungy eating scraps of food trying to survive for another day
It saddened me that another lady was sitting on the floor with an adult son who was clearly disabled and like a child in his ways
By this time, i had no money to help.
I really was shocked that in a muslim country in such a riny community in such an old neighbourhood area that these people were NOT supported in anyway.

So sometimes you look at these modern day Indians, they have a spiritual look about them, but at the same time they have a bewitched spirit written all over them. My husband is an Arab Muslim and we are upon Salafiyyah, living in Saudi Arabia. My husband was approached by a Nigerian Muslim in the city we're in. He told my husband about how he was sleeping in abandoned homes and in mosques, and crying from hunger at some points. My husband helped find him a roommate, helped him a bit with food, gave him his old phone and gives him rides when he needs it. They're still in contact with each other and my husband helps him when he asks for aid. I don't think my husband would behave this way at all. Someone who truly practices Islam would not turn away another person just asking for food. This is condemned in Islam. I'm very sad to see this video.

I just had to Google about certain verses in the Qur'an about giving food to the hungry. I was surprised with these 3 verses that I found:
Al-Balad 90: 14-18
"Or to give food in times of famine, to an orphaned relative, or to a poor person in distress, and-above all-to be one of those who have faith and urge each other to have perseverance and urge each other to have compassion; these are the people of the right".
Al-Insan 5-8
"and give food-despite their desire for it-to the poor, the orphan, and the captive".
Surah Al-Insan 76:8
"and they give food, despite their love for it, to the needy, and the orphan, and the captive".
I think giving food to the hungry and the needy isn't just about religion at all but about humanity. Regardless of what religion one follows, we all should have compassion with one another--rich or poor, hungry or full.

True story. A hungry brother visited a mosque (I won’t mention the country) and after praying Dhuhr, he stood up and said he didn’t eat for several days and implored people to feed him. The brother was quickly told to shut up and not to disturb the worshippers by the mosque management. He stayed in the mosque and kept on praying and just sitting in the mosque till Asr prayer. Then after praying Asr, he stood up and told the people the same as before and that he was hungry. The same thing happened and he was told to shut up and to have shame and to stop disturbing people by the mosque management. He didn’t leave and stayed there until maqrib and after finishing the maqrib prayer, the brother passed away. Then thats when the people rushed to him to offer first aid and attempt to take him to the hospital and what have you but it was too late as he was dead and returned to his Lord. The saddest thing about the story of that brother is that there was at least one restaurant inside that mosque and not one person had the wisdom to feed him. Everyone ignored him and was shunned.
The truth is that only Allah knows where each of us will end up so if you can help anyone by buying them a meal or at least treating them with kindness then please do help as you never know how much one meal might mean to someone. It might be the very difference of life and death. Anyways, thought i would share that. May Allah ta’ala forgive us all and make each and every muslim person free from needing anyone. Ameen.
