Interesting to hear what the COG is across the country. Living in S. CA is so costly I am always amazed at the affordability of other parts of the country!

I help buyers who are transitioning to the Indy area from your part of the country and they are amazed at what their money can buy here! Everything is a trade-off - you guys live in beautiful part of the country and enjoy a nice climate (especially this time of year), but it comes at a cost. Thanks for your comments!

@@mikedempseyindyrealestatet9892 we do have it rough some days...I mean yesterday it rained for about 15 minutes and got down to shivering 58 degrees. People were bundled in boots, scarves, Kind of funny.

Hi Rich, thanks for you comment. Yes, I think the cost of living is pretty similar. I've been to Peoria many times - nice town.

Apartment rents in the downtown area area are outrageous. You can't touch a decent studio for less than $1000 a month. Public transportation is discraceful.

Great info for relocation folks. I know when I first moved from Phoenix to Seattle I was shocked. It was one of the reasons I moved back to Phoenix.

Yes, our son lived in Seattle for several years. That area might just be my favorite part of the country, but I the cost of living is prohibitive to say the least. Thanks for your comments.

I will say that Indianapolis is pretty affordable in comparison to other cities/states... of course salaries are a little lower vs what you'd make doing the same thing in Chicago, but childcare here in Indianapolis is absolutely ridiculous! That's my least favorite of all. If you need childcare, you better have a trustworthy family member or friend that will give you a deal!

The best thing that should be on everyone mind currently should be to invest in different stream of income that doesn't depend on government especially at this time of this pandemic

It's ridiculous... Everything went up. Makes me sick.. 6-7-$800 a month for two beds on the southside. PISSES ME OFF. I asked someone why so high, He says, cause I can get it. Well we dont make the money like that. Of course I'm sure like most others you're after welfare renters and that's why yo bastards ran em all up. Well I hope they're all empty. If you need to rip us off, I hope one day you lose everything you have.

Indianapolis cost of living has become insanely overpriced.
We're trying to emulate cities we aren't & never will be.
Apartment rents have skyrocketed and on par with housing rentals.
City officials and neighborhood associations are mostly concerned with downtown, Broad Ripple, Fountain Square, Irvington, Meridian Kessler, FallCreek, Meridian Park neighborhoods. 😒
STEADY building unnecessary cheaply made, over priced housing units.
Neglecting other neighborhoods, their infrastructure, public schools, criminal activity & food desert.
