That's a unique call I'm hearing right there. I don't think any other hawk than the one you described makes that call. So very nice job on the ID right there!
We had one in our yard last night in Savannah! It was getting too dark to see clearly, but there was a large, dark-winged, long-tailed lump on a branch making this call. It reminded me of a defibrillator being charged. Lol. Glad to know what it was and to add it to my list of yard visitors. :)
That's really high frequency. I've heard many hawks and eagles cry out but this is the highest pitch I've heard from a raptor so far.
