I love these! I hope this expands to cover vehicles from the other series and we also get "updated" tech files for the Thunderbirds Are Go series vehicles.
Sadly still no explanation of how the flight deck is at right angles to the lift when the ship is vertical and still at right angles to the lift when the ship is in horizontal flight.
I just figure the flight deck is a separate section, say a pressure sphere inside the hull and rotates like the chair in TB1 when changing flight orientation. The lift door and tube outside it are connected to it and swivel also to help maintain the seal and not rely on the doors alone to hold the pressure normal. I figure the tube is sectional and the top bit at the door disconnects with the rest of the tube. What isn't explained is why they are lugging the extra weight of the couch around nor how the 'replacement' couch fits into place up in Jeff's office so well despite being on a different pole that is a distance away from the primary pole and shouldn't line up all that well.
you never see anyone use the round house. i think its just there for show. you'd get a bad review on Trip Advisor otherwise. Location: 5 stars, Accomidation: 0 :)
The modern update in the show of tb3 is absolutely fantastic, with the struts becoming arms. I felt its like what the original would have morphed into with time.
I love Chris Thompsons art work. I have all of his Thunderbirds stuff as my computer wallpaper. I wish he would do more of the new ones.. The stuff he has done of the new ones is also fantastic, but need more!
I prefer this grandma Tracy to the one in the most recent series. She is a horrible cook. Seems her cooking could be considered a form of torture the way everyone acts.
Excellent - as ever! Well done guys. I used to enjoy Thunderbirds episodes featuring TB3, but there weren’t that many, so this reminded me what a great innovation it was. My Dad (ex RAF) used to wind us up by saying he couldn’t understand why the round house wasn’t destroyed by TB3 taking off, which led to much argument and banter lol. Looking forward to more episodes... 🚀
Thunderbirds Are Go! has many more episodes and scenes of Thunderbird 3, and show just how versatile the SSTO is! It's my favourite of the new show, overtaking TB2!
I saw Thunderbird 3 a couple of years ago, it was at Humberside Airport. I was shocked! Why was it there? Is Tracy Island just a hoax? What's wrong with having International Rescue operating out of Scunthorpe?
Well TB3 gets a lot more screen time in the new series (they even did go to the moon) and it's a nice design update too, it's just a shame the episodes are so short (about 20 minutes) so they can't really build much drama anymore =(
Always wondered why the Round House was built to the scale it was. Make it look huge (or makes Thunderbird 3 seem around 50 feet high instead of 287 feet).
Another great video - I had hoped that brains would explain how the replacement couch was placed in the correct position as the first one despite it being slightly to one side. Also, is it just me or does Brains have a little dig at Grandma about needing help in the kitchen?

Lucas borrowed heavilly from TV21,there is a still from Fireball xl5 with the crew in the front, with the cast seated, there is also a still from Star Wars that has almost the exact same characters in the falcon, with the Fireball curved canopy,a"space pet"(zoony/chewie,C3P0/robert the robot, female lead Leia/Venus and of course Steve/Han,)it jumped out to me when i saw the still from Empire Strikes Back i think.
Oh Yeah Right. Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back From The Original Trilogy Is After The Success Of Disney's Star Wars The Last Jedi From 2017 And Star Wars Episode II Attack Of The Clones In 2002. Thanks Mate. X
Ask SpaceX. Honestly the only limitation is the fact that there is still no one using aerospike engines which would solve the issue of efficiency, and thus eliminate the need for multiple stages.
Joe 90 is set about 40-50 years earlier than Fireball XL-5, Stingray, Lady Penelope and Parker/ Thunderbirds/Zero-X and Captain Scarlet. TV21 comic had a shared universe from 1965! In the comic serial, 'The Astran Assasination', it's mainly a Fireball XL-5 story, but Stingray, and Lady Penelope and Parker (Thunderbirds hadn't been broadcast at the time, and the Lady Penelope comic strip was a kind of primer for it), all worked together to stop a galactic war. It's brilliant, dark, and has a tight plot which has some very grown up touches in places.
A future unrealized. I had to stop the vid to wipe my tears when thunderball 3 was ascending without audio of fuel and oxidizer pumping. Our SSTs are grounded. USA is dependent on Soyuz craft to reach low orbit. A lot was started by JFK, and Nixon couldn't bother with the last few Apollo missions hardware that had already been paid for. I have to watch bullet trains to see any breath taking technology. This 62 year old won't be seeing much of anything else in my lifetime. I can't even be the non designer gene myopic humans of GATTACA.
I know you're a very smart bloke.but i'm totally bamboozled by the fact you manage to get a 300ft space rocket through a hole in a house with a diameter of not much more than 30ft?Without smashing it to bits or burning it to a crisp?I know what you're thinking "Its a kids programme, get over it,you sad man". 🤓
Why does brain's in this sound completely different from the original series Just re watch some original clips and this sounds like some old guy trying and falling miserably to do the voice of barins its more of an insult to the legacy of thunderbirds
Time to learn all about Thunderbird 3 with Brains - coming to you live (sort of) from Tracy Island! Excited?
I sure am!

Thunderbird 3 was an often underused craft in the series, yet they rectified it's importance in the 2010's remake! FAB
including some interesting additions. turning the connections to the boosters into grappling arms for example.
@Primus! The Silver Ranger he meant 2010s meaning 2010-2019
I feel they made it a bit too gimmicky in the remake myself.
I always felt Thunderbird 3 was underrated. It's a superb craft. ^.^
especially cause almost no other craft can be reusable for space
@@mistermadmachine6311 Thunderbird 1 can though.
Thunderbird 3 was my favourite craft, I had a model in 1966, I wish I had kept it !
My favourite thunderbird. Had to love that fiesta red paint job and it fantastic design.
Thunderbird 3 is my favourite IR machine out of the 5 of them. It's red and it's big.
You gotta do a tech talk about that roundhouse cause it’s ability to be unharmed by Thundergoddamnbird 3 roaring through it is MAGIC!
It's made of the same hyper resistant Cahelium Extract X as TB3 itself :)

I don't much like the internal layout of the new one myself.
My son Lewis has been Looking forward to this one, Thunderbird 3 is his favorite.
Please tell him he's not the only Lewis who calls T3 his favourite :P
An excellent series, drawing on such a long and wonderful history of imagination. Thanks without end for everything.
As ever, superb! Well done Brains & the entire International Rescue Team.

Another fantastic start to the weekend with a great Tech Talk on TB3 and a cameo from Grandma Tracy too. Can't wait for FAB1 next week.

Amazing that such a powerful rocket could fit through such a narrow space as the hole in the round house without collision
Just good piloting!
And where does the heat go?
Anderson never bothered too much about relative scale. His vehicles worked brilliantly on the screen, so long as you didn't look too closely.
Another nice Tech Talk. I love hearing about the origins of the Thunderbird craft.
As always, fun and educational. My thanks to Gerry and Brains for this great series.
Oh man, I just love these Tech Talk episodes! Many thanks.
Called it being TB3. Next I predict it will be FAB-1. Excellent tech talk.
Love how they descend on one couch while the empty couch ascends.
These are really good and teach a lot about the machines used in the various Gerry Anderson Series.
Only Thunderbird with a couch. So cool

Very much like the Space Shuttle with the extending arm.
The roundhouse windows must be incredibly sturdy.
Quintuple glazed at least!

It was a prototype and early development for Thunderbird 5. Look at it´s shape. Then probably turning hasty in a roundhouse.
How does the other couch go back in the right spot though? I'm sure there's an answer but it's bugged me for years! 😂
Its sofologydisplacement, the whole roundhouse flexes three foot to the side.

TB3 can carry space to space and space to surface charges.
