They talk about the Lakers because they sell. The Lakers had 7 of the top 10 most watched games of the regular season. They also have 1 of the greatest players ever on their roster, who was number 2 in jersey sales last year. As long as those numbers hold, the Lakers will be a part of every conversation
Sports shows will always talk about the Lakers, Cowboys, and Yankees, because those are the most popular teams. More fans means more clicks etc. If you want them to cover your Wizards or Jazz, let them win 17 championships and then they’ll get talked about too.

There’s a way. LeBron and AD are elite. Reaves Rui Dlo and Vando are solid role players. They have 3 first round picks to trade, if they can upgrade the roster a little that could put them over the top. The Nuggets have stomped them lately, but they’re getting worse, the Lakers can close that gap if they make the right move or two.

I really don’t get the LeBron hate. He’s never had any off court issues. 20 years in the league and he’s never even gotten a parking ticket. He plays the game the right way, he’s not a ball hog like Harden, he actually passes the ball, makes the right play and sets up his teammates. He’s never quit on a team and demanded a trade, he’s always played out his contracts and only switched teams as a free agent.
Yeah he tries to get his teams to make moves to improve but that’s because he wants to win, that’s not a bad thing, and it works as he’s won a championship with every team he’s played on. He compares himself to Jordan but that’s not a bad thing either. Kobe was the ultimate competitor and people love him for it, LeBron wants to be the goat and that makes him a villain? He’s a great player who plays the game the right way and doesn’t have any issues off the court. You can root against him but the disrespect just seems like mindless hate.

The matchups are key. For some reason the Nuggets have their number, if the Lakers can avoid them their chances of advancing go up tremendously.
Or, ya know, they could add some role players, maybe a guard that can defend Murray and a big that can defend Jokic, but I can’t promise Pelinka will make those moves, or any moves for that matter. If they end up basically running back the same team, they would be lucky to avoid the Nuggets.
