Hi guys! Another Korean Street Food Recipe~!! WHOOTWHOOT~! I know you all LOVE street food, I meant who wouldn’t?! Eating food on the street just have totally different atmosphere than eating at a restaurant, even though it’s same food. I love street food, because I can walk around, look around and keep eating..!! lol! Also, I believe the street food is one of the best ways to experience the country’s culture. Korean street vendors grill the chicken on a stick, of course, and that’s my favorite way to make it too! But you can also broil or cook on a skillet on your stove, just following the same method in the recipe. Hope you guys give this delicious Korean chicken on a stick, Dakkochi a try at home! Xoxo
Seonkyoung Longest hye.. I'm your fan from malaysia... I'm islam but i love love your cooking.. I want to try your recipe but i cannot put non halal thing in it..
reminds me of walking down the "ville" in Pyeongtaek, Dongducheon or Itaewon back when I was in the army. did 2 tours over in Korea, each 1 year long. first tour was stationed at Camp Humphries in Pyeongtaek, the second at Camp Casey in Dongducheon. hell, I cant even eat American style ramen anymore, because I fell in love with Korean Ramyun
Awesome clip, I tried this recipe for my BBQ party of 25 people last weekend and this chicken on the stick was by far the most popular, it was soooooooo good that all my friends asked me for the secret ingredient... WELL DONE Seonkyoung, keep up the good work!!
I Tried Your Recipe Tonight & I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!! Super Tasty!! Not Spicy Enough I Will Be Using Thai Chili Next Time But It's Still An Awesome Recipe!! I Will Be Cooking This Whenever I'm Craving Korean BBQ!! Thank You For Sharing! My Family Loved It!!!
When you cook, pretend walk while eating, laugh about it and still be eating a piece of chicken on a stick in your hand without judgement and ridicule abd smile at each other with sauce on your hands and face....that's true love and good eating ! I'm here for it girlie! Bring it!
Great looking recipe! This is the greatest easy recipe for something everyone would like (except vegetarians I guess). But looks fantastic to me! Thanks for doing suck wonderful work, your videos get better and better all the time. Best editing on youtube cooking channel!
*DROOOOOLZ* Love all your recipes with Korean Street Food!! It's so interesting to see different kinds of Korean food that I haven't seen in restaurants around here :)
hi greetings from India and thanks for sharing this lovely chicken....i have 2 queries, 1. Do i need to brush both sweet and spicy sauces in one single stick, or do them as separate flavors? 2. If I try to do it on a nonstick pan, how much oil would I need? thanks in advance, hope to get a reply....
I swear, lady, you are NEVER going to have an "ugly" day in your life! Ha! Last night we had an all girls night (no frikkken' men allowed!) in my home and it was amazing...as always! We cooked up different types of finger foods and appetizers which included your Korean Street Chicken on a Stick, your incredible Asian chicken meatballs and pork meatballs, and waaaay too much wine! It was soooo much fun for us to simply prep the ingredients, get them cooking while we all got caught up with each others lives. We simply got lost in each other. It was a night of wonderful aromas, delicious food, more wine and a lot of gossiping! And we owe that all to you Seonkyoung! Thank you so much for sharing. And we want...no, we DEMAND to know where you got that outfit!
Watching your Korean recipe videos help bring back my time living in Korea (chicken on a stick was always a favorite). Perhaps you could have a video on Chunchon chicken sometime? I think doing a cookbook is a great idea and would definitely buy one if available.
I made the spicy dakkochi today and it was AMAZING. My mom is a great cook which makes her a picky eater and she loved it too. I'll definitely be making this recipe again.
I am a bad & lazy cook but a girl-friend is coming over and this seems easy & tasty, so will try it. Also thanks for sweet sauce ...because I don't think I have any shop in my area that sells Korean cooking stuff ;/
I remember getting them outside of Camp Casey. They had more of an American BBQ flavor to them. I believe they were $1.00 a stick back then. They were good though.
I just recently visited South Korea this spring and some of the food I tried was lacking flavor in my opinion, (I am Mexican-American and I am used to heavily seasoned food), but the only thing that really stood out to me was this chicken on a stick. Wow was it amazing and really spicy!!! Thank you for this awesome recipe!
(Mexican American here) i personally love how other cultures find other ways to flavor there foods without seasonings i loev expanding my pallete and seeing how other cultures use sauces, herbs, chopped vegetables, broths, oils ect is amazing and helped me understand more how to flavor food in a better way. i still love using powder seasonings but i think i perfer other ways to flavor tbh
Love ALL your videos. I made many of your recipes, and everything is so yummy. Spicy, sweet, garlic chicken wings are a huge hit with all my family..Can't get enough of them :) Sending Blessings, hugs and thanks to you both. XO
I know this is an old video, but there is a street vendor in Hongik who fries the chicken stick first (no breading as far as I can tell) then puts it on the grill and smothers it in sauce. It was THE BEST chicken on a stick we ever found in Seoul and we tried many lol
Hi Seonkyoung, I'm gonna try making this with tofu for this weekend. I don't have an outside griller, but I think I could use the broiler or my stove griller. We'll see.. we'll see.... Thanks
Please do a close up of the ingredients in their containers, because sometimes I can't understand when you say there names and what they are, LOVE YOUR FOOD 💖
Yummy chicken, Seonkyoung. Maybe one day, you should make a cookbook with all the recipes, including your Shrimp Lo Mein, which I am still waiting for. Have a good day, Seonkyoung. Stay adorable, sweetie.
Actually Dakkochi and Yakitori in Japanese remind me of Indonesian, Malaysian, Singaporean, and Brunei cuisine of Sate Ayam (Satay Ayam). But it is served with dipping peanut sauce and Rice Cake called "Lontong" or Rice.
Ymmmm....I loved the Korean Street Toast, and i'm sure I'll love the Korean Street Chicken on a Stick!!! Especially after watching Jacob and you eat yours,....mmm....spicy hot with sriracha sauce, thumbs up my dear Seonkyoung, thank you for sharing and greetings from Mexico! :)
Seonkyoung Longest oh that is cool! Yes, the summers make it all worth it! By the way, I love ALL your recipes. I make the korean soups weekly. This Friday, my girlfriend's and I are going to have a cooking party and make like 4 of your recipes. Keep up the amazing work! ❤️

you two are so cute & I love chicken on a stick. Yummy!
Oh yeah, Sate Ayam (Satay Ayam) is Chicken Satay. You can check in Wikipedia about this:
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satay
