    I've been studying Korean now for 4 years and I still manage to get these confused even today. This is a VERY good explanation that finally clears up the issue. When I first started Korean, my textbook gave only the smallest of explanations about the difference, and so I never truly learned the difference. Thank you for your hard work!

    This helps a lot! I've been learning Korean for so long and I didn't know what the differences are. This makes much more sense. Love your lessons Thanks!

    Can "우리 형이 집에 도착하면 나한테 전화해. " also mean "My brother calls me when he arrives home"? Or is it whenever the sentence uses 이, we can safely just assume that the second clause say 너는 나한테 전화해.
    And same goes for sentence 2, if 은 is used for the first clause, I can safely assume the second clause is "우리 형은 나한테 전화해"?
    1) 우리 형이 집에 도착하면 나한테 전화해.
    Call me when my brother arrives home.
    2) 우리 형은 집에 도착하면 나한테 전화해.
    My brother calls me when he arrives home.
    Thanks

      The sentence #1 sounds "Call me when my brother arrives home" only. I repeated the sentence by myself over and over and it sounds just the same. And the 2nd one sounds "My brother (usually or normally) calls me when he arrives home" only.

    저는 아직도 "이/가" 언제 쓰는 잘 몰라요 ㅠㅠ 좀 어렵지 않아요 ?

    • @ConversationalKorean
      @ConversationalKorean  9 лет назад +1

      maha 저도 그게 어렵다는 거 잘 알아요. 그렇다면요, 제가 [Basic Korean 13 & 14]에서 설명하려는 것을 기억하시고, 한국어 잘하는 사람들이 어떻게 사용하는지 계속 듣다보면, 언젠가 알게 될 겁니다.
      I know it's a very complicated stuff. Well... In that case, just keep it mind what I'm trying to say in [Basic Korean 13 & 14], and as you keep listening the way fluent speakers use it, someday you will be able to get what I meant.

    Then, what does 그가 그녀는 좋아하는 사람이야 mean?

    • @ConversationalKorean
      @ConversationalKorean  9 лет назад

      Timothy Liu When I hear that sentence, then my reaction would be like "what does that sentence mean?" and I think the reactions of most Koreans would be the same. Just grammatically unfamiliar.

      43Degree What do you mean by "all the recordings"? My explanations?

      Conversational Korean O.K. I wasn't very clear. Sorry. Let's see if I can do better. I hear the reading of the sentences and see the writing and the movement from one sentence to the next is very quick. I guess, I could always just pause the youtube and continue to the next sentence when I am ready. :-)
