The most spectacular tail swishing ever! 💕
The tail swishing is a sign of excitement. I let them in too once in a while, but I've noticed they pee on the carpet at the sight of a bag of nuts. lol
@@BillAntthey're just marking it as theirs 💦. And that tail isn't just excitement. It's for telling the other squirrels "back off! This is mine" 🐿️
squirrels outside my window usually do that when a hawk is chasing them. warning sign/stress behavior...
They signal with their tail to each other. It is an important communication thing.

My dentist has squirrel feeders outside the windows facing the exam chairs. Seeing the squirrels jump on the window and watch the procedures has an incredibly calming effect on the patients.
wow, great idea for all dentists. not as easy (or legal) for dentists in more urban areas, who have windows but rules on what can be next to window and sidewalk.

I did personal training for nearly two decades and had a sun room with a home gym set up...the chickens in the yard with a bird feeder and a humming bird feeder by the windows was a best thing ever. The clients would forget about being out of breath or a burning muscle for just a minute and then on to the next thing.

She found the legendary Cornucopia! I love how each time she tested to find the largest nut she could fit and carry away.
My squirrel, Little, used to come in, climb up the bookcase where I kept a small Tupperware tub full of walnuts and make off with the whole container. I once grabbed some video of him running across the roof with it in his mouth! The container was easily 2-3 times the size of his head, but he held onto it like, "My precious... my precious!"

Maybe a bit scared of the bag at first.
Squirrels were eating acorns on my porch, so I had a bag of nuts for Christmas, and I put a few out there. They only took one at first, but came back for the rest, all Hazelnuts. The next morning I discovered a pecan, cleanly opened on my porch, square in front of the door! I got to thinking, where is the nearest pecan tree? I couldn’t think of any. Where did the squirrel get the pecan, and was he really leaving me a gift? I took it inside, I don’t want to refuse a heartfelt gift.
It would've been epic if the squirrel had started dragging the bag toward the window. 😂

A squirrel can tell the value of a nut by the weight. Though we couldn't notice the difference in weight between two English walnuts by picking them up... a squirrel can. I'm glade other people love squirrels and chipmunks...I helped many chipmunks have food for their winter hibernation this yr and I feed the squirrels around my area and on trails and in the park as they do not hibernate anymore for lack of food. I noticed last Christmas they were out searching(they looked skinny and in need of food) and was surprised so I did a little studying on why etc. I'm way up North in Canada and it gets very cold like -20- -30 degrees. I was feeding them a lot but now can only do it a few days a week, it costs money. I leave very early in the morning while still dark because most come out just as the sky turns blue, and I do many area's and walk to them, last time I was out for over 2 hrs... lol I also feed the birds while out and about, very costly. I just hope I'll be able to help them next yr too as money is so very tight.
I feel like the tail swish is a wave hello when they are happy, a big fist shake when they are mad and a wave your hands in the air when they are excited. It means many things. Haha.

I live in southern Missouri out in the country, lots of large trees here - including several walnut trees, which crank out an unbelievable amount of nuts. Don’t even have to pick them up - the squirrels take care of them all! They’re pretty chill when I’m around😁

I love this so much!!! I'm feeding the birds at my house and wish they would get more used to me being around. They fly away the minute they hear my footsteps. Though some now perch on the fence for a bit first. Squirrels are so cute!!!

Its pretty amazing that the squirrel is willing to take food by going into your home.
We have an albino squirrel in our backyard that is willing to come fairly close when we sit in a chair outside. I've only seen one other albino squirrel. That was back in 1974-75 when as a teenager I delivered newspapers. Every morning an albino and a normal grey squirrel would be out and about as I delivered newspapers. I always watched the two of them from a distance.
