    Ppl that can afford the 24ft boats and skeeters and all that.. aren’t worried about storage lol the deal is you got to get what you can or what’s best for you. You don’t need any of it but it’s nice to have it all of it.

    I own a 2018 Z18 with a 150, I love my boat, but 57,58 mph is average. 61 was absolutely the max I got out of it. Going to install a jack plate on it so I can squeeze a couple more out of her. I do also run 2/8’ power poles

    Found this roaming around, I am a Cass Cat owner. I think an important things you talked about is storage. My garage is 22' x 22". I could shove a 20 in there and angle it but I have motorcycles so it had to go straight in straight so my Pantera II is a 19 footer with a 200. Straight in there is 1 1/2" in the back and 1 1/2" on the front. As I see it the two problems you had wernt with the"BOAT! but things attached to it. What I think of a boat problem its hull, wiring, plumbing, things like this. This Cat is a 21 and second time out I had a "Motor" issue. it wouldnt go into forward gear but would go in reverse. I turned it off and then it wouldnt start. I was still at the dock (Whew). Like yours a damn sensor failure !in shifting module. But just thought id say Good Job.

    Honesty i made some good memories with mine but in the end I was not a happy camper and it was a 2014. It took forever to get on plane. So embarrassing the first tournament I did. Im on the front line and everybody zipped past me before I even got on plane. Secondly there thin and the hulls are not made to last or take the inevitable bumps and bruises. Its served a purpose in my life, and for that I'm forever grateful. But it lost all its luster after a year.

    I own a 2010, Nitro Z-7. I purchased. It New. I put a 150 four Stroke on it and I reached 60 mph ( gps), however most of the time it runs 57-58 gps. I had a "Hooked" hull and NITRO "White water marine group" replaced my hull in 2019.

    Lol while I own a new boat, you can’t go wrong with any well kept boat made in the last 10 years.
    I went with a Skeeter FXR 21 Apex this winter, upgrading from my Nitro Z18. I liked my Z18 a lot, but it’s quality is a long ways from the Skeeter.
    The only thing the Nitro did better was give me a dryer ride, and cost a little less to run fuel wise. The 250hp Yamaha is a pig compared to the 175 on my Z18.
    In every other category, the skeeter is better. Fit and finish most of all.
    Both fantastic boats though. I kept my z18 as a family fishing boat to use with my son, and to let him fish the high school leagues with, and it’s never given me trouble beyond the seat decals and a burnt circulator pump, both of which were fixed by my dealer. They had a new livewell pump in my boat before we launched Saturday morning, and it happened on the water Friday afternoon during practice.
    Definitely worth the purchase. I fished a lot in mine.

    I have had no major problems with my 1997 884 savage . For 24 years did you hear that. Yes your carpet will need replaced after 24 years . The original trolling motor was still working . I got the wireless xi5 because my balance isn’t as good stepping on peddle. My graphs were at least 15 years old . S o I just update to HDs live . I have no power poles or talens. I don’t need them

    73 with a 150 on a Z18? LOL! Even Nitro says 56 - 61 MPH. You couldn't see that with the optional 175. I assume that you meant on the highway behind the truck while being towed to the lake!

      I agree! With 150hp he is way off. My z18 with 175hp basically running empty no gear half tank of gas and down river I hit 68mph gps with 24p fury 5800 rpm. Vessel view to prove it. A 150hp doing better than that...yeah right

    I had a Nitro back in the 90's. I had a lot of headaches w it. Issues w the ignition "system" over and over. Starter and flywheel problems. However, I am seriously looking at the new Z18 Pro model for next year. One of my besties has had his Nitro 19 footer for >10 years and loves it. Retired mailman here and need to get outdoors and do some relaxing fishing.

    • @TopWaterTom
      @TopWaterTom  3 года назад

      Yeah def look into it because I love my nitro I can customize it how ever I want just all the extras you get with other boats some fisherman don’t use it or don’t even know how to use it as well! Look around for some outdoor shows because some bass boat dealers bring boats to look at! But def get back on the water and start fishing!

      I was looking at trackers and nitros at the same time and turns out that the Z 18 upgraded the right way actually turns out the same price as the z17 the lower version fiberglass boat and turns out it’s the same price per month as a tracker 175
      So what I thought to myself why get a smaller or Aluminum boat when I can get a bigger fiberglass boat for the same price

    Was that 70 on GPS or on the speedometer on the boat. Hard to believe 70 from a stock 150? Had a Nitro as my first boat and liked it but beat you to hell in any waves. Very thin hull.

    • @lloyds_fishingjournal
      @lloyds_fishingjournal Год назад

      He's definitely not going 70s that's for sure. A Phoenix 919pro tournament ready hits mid to high 70s max and that's considered the rocket boat.
      My buddies own 2019 and 2020 nitros z19 and 20s and they're topping off at lower to mid 70s so how's a 150 with no hydraulic jack plate getting 70s? 🤣
      That white river hull ain't got it.
