Great tutorial!! Your instructions are spot on! I did a strap like that, too, for the same reasons. Great minds think alike. 💜
I just bought the pattern. I plan to pick out fabrics from my stash to make this tomorrow. 😊
Love this bag!
Another great pattern 👏 Congratulations 💫 🤗
Thank you! 😊
Super Great Pattern! 💕
Thank you! 😊
I don't see interfacing on the back lining? The instructions say to cut three interfacing of B1, 2 of which would be for front and back lining. Is this because of the fabric you used? I'm assuming I should go ahead and fuse it on prior to inserting the welt pocket. Otherwise I'm getting along fine! Getting excited. will send a picture.
One more great pattern! 🥰
You can use a hair dryer wenn you using waterproof canvas as a lining..It helps so much! 😉
I was going to suggest that too! HUGE difference! Life savor for the clear vinyl as well👍
Thanks for the tip! I hadn't heard that one before. I'll certainly try that out next time.
Just love your patterns! Just bought this one. I was wondering if there is a reason (other then for the looks) why the zipper gusset panels are tapered out towards the middle top of that gusset and aren't straight. So they go from a bit wider on the top to narrower at the side connectors and then again wider to the bodem?
Thank you for your purchase. No particular reason other than to give it some shape.
Melissa where can I buy decovil light? If I don't use the light, what should I use instead.
Here are some links for you: Joann's currently on sale. I would get it here! This is where I get mine when it's on sale and I stock up. If you have the Honey extension on your computer it will probably find an additional coupon for you at check out. www.joann.com/pellon-525-decovil-light-one-sided-fusible-stabilizer-17x10-yds/16649691.html or Amazon amzn.to/3fVFPE8
Hi! I can't tell what fabric you are using for the gusset and zipper panels. You say you are using cotton for exterior and I think waterproof canvas for lining as well as your choice of interfacing options. I'm domestic/semi-industrial so I want to make sure I can handle those curves. The thickness/weight of the fabric makes a difference . Thanks!
Hi Kim, I used vinyl for my gusset/zipper panel. I have a semi industrial - Juki TL18QVP and have no issues sewing it, just make sure you leave your stabilizer out of the seam allowances which I have included those pattern pieces in the pattern.
@@SewYours Thank you so much for great info! I want to make this bag so much because it is the one I personally want to carry! The other bags I've made have been for someone else. Thanks for designing a great bag pattern with follow up videos! I'm on it!
I LOVE it even more now after watching you create it!!!!
Thanks Kathie!
Awesome tutorial! Thank you so much.
You are so welcome!
Just bought the pattern - I’ve been looking for a bowler bag to make. You list the SA’s as 1/8” - is that a typo? Should they be 1/2” before trimming down?
Thank you for pointing that out! The SA should be 1/4" for piecing together everything except for attaching the gusset to the front/back panels and then it will be 3/8" I've updated the pattern on the website.
@@SewYours Thank you ☺️ I’ve just finished taping and cutting the pattern pieces… on to choosing my fabrics!
Everything is prepped! I’m excited to make this. I’ve chosen natural cork for the main panels and a matte black faux leather for the gusset, zipper, and front flap 😊 Gunmetal hardware
…. Ohhh and the CUTEST lining - bicycles on a white background from the Dollar Tree!!! (Who have been upping their craft dept exponentially) I picked up a bunch of adorable print fat quarters- perfect for bag and backpack linings.
Awesome video! Followed along with the written pattern tutorial perfectly, and I appreciate that it is not too long… Thank you, I really love my bag, and I’ll be sure to post it in the Facebook group
Thanks Gina!
Where are the measurements for the pocket and the straps and the straps connectors? 🤔I couldn't find it in the patterns that I bought. I didn't see anything written either. Maybe something has escaped from me because English is not my first language.😊 I would appreciate an answer. 🙏
Hi Paula, that would be on page 4 - the cutting guide
@@SewYours Thank you so much. 🙏 don't know why I didn't see it. Sorry, it was really my bad!!😬
Is there a way we can do a drop in lining I hate binding lol
I personally don't know how this would be done but I'm sure there are videos on youtube that you can search how to do this. Binding really isn't that bad, especially with waterproof canvas as your binding.
@@SewYours thank you I will give it a try, I already bought your pattern, thank you again 😊😊❤️
No sound.?
There is sound
Fantastic bag, got everything I like, but I am afraid of binding. Struggle with curves, any help or good advice?
Go slow, use a stiletto or owl to help you during sewing, and use waterproof canvas for your binding, especially if you're on a semi/industrial machine. Makes it so much easier to sew with waterproof canvas binding. Overall those small imperfections that most of us get when sewing binding just aren't all that noticeable when you turn the bag right side out.
@@SewYours thank you so very much for your answer and good advice. Maybe I am a bit too hard to myself, but everything can be better with more practice. Now I will buy the lovely pattern. 😊
Oh. I absolutely LOVE this!!!!!!
Thank you!
