@@elinorbaker olive is always a cool undertone. The blue undertone mixed with the yellow overtone of your skin makes an olive overall tone.
The cool olive…it’s a curse. I have all the curses. Green cool skin, droopy eyes, bad dark circles, no cheekbones 😭
@@julieme7927 This is what I suspect. If you have warm skin, you don’t have the issues with the green cast. Is that blue/purple that gives us the “dead” appearance particularly when using warm colors
@@julieme7927 olive = green. Green is neutral & can lean warm or cool depending on how much yellow vs blue. More yellow than blue = warm olive, less yellow than blue = cool olive
I love the bottom eyelash trick. I've never heard of that one before, I'm gonna have to give it a try next time I do a full face.

I did lifted shadow and liner for several years. These are great tips. Lately, I’ve felt this can shorten my large, round, protruding eyes like you said. I’ve been going straight with my liner flick and it’s feels more natural. I still look like myself.
This video reminds me of how i found your channel, and the mind blowing advice you gave for makeup on different types of faces. You are so knowledgeable and i am so thankful for your channel!
The exaggeration of the droopiness works if you don’t have skin folding over your outer corner, like my case, which is genetic I have had that my whole life. I really hate that, you can’t use any dark color or draw lines that are too visible because it looks even worse.
The problem is that nobody addresses the SKIN FOLD. After I get surgery I could probably use these tips ☹️

If that makes you feel better I always loved the skin fold. It makes your eyes look mysterious and sexy in my opinion. They are called "bedroom eyes" if I'm correct.
No matter what I apply, the fold just covers it.😢

As a droopy eyed person who has been doing my go-to eyeshadow almost exactly this way for the past 14+ years, I can confirm that it works.
I used to do it _exactly_ like this for a while, even with the black outer waterline, which is basically the only thing I do differently now. 😅
When there is no skin fold, for sure. Otherwise, nothing works😭

Dear Aly, can you some time, give us tips on Dealing With A SWEATY FACE?
my upper cheeks and my upper lip sweat when i get too hot, and my eyelashes touch my upper cheeks & the moisture pulls my eye makeup down, giving dark circles under my eyes.
it looks so bad that i've just stopped wearing makeup during warm weather. even the waterproof mascara ends up on my skin & it is harder to wipe off than the regular mascara, it's just a hot-mess!
plus i have fair skin, hair & eyes, i'm so blonde that there's barely any visible pigment in my eyelashes & eyebrows, so it really sucks that i can't wear eye makeup during the summer.
any advice? anyone? and i wonder if anyone else has this problem or some version of it.
I have similar problems with eye makeup! I have stopped wearing mascara, dark eyeliner, and dark eyeshadow entirely for this very reason. I've completely changed the way I do makeup, just so that it doesn't melt and transfer out of place. Because no matter how "long lasting" or "smudge-proof" products claim to be, they all melt on me.
Here's what works for me:
Eyeshadow: light/skin toned, one color across the whole lid.
Eyeliner: only on the upper lash line,very thin and blended into your natural eyelashes, in a color that matches your false lashes.
Eyelashes: very light weight, natural-looking false lashes, in light brown (you could try a dark blond if you can find them), no mascara (so curl your real lashes before applying the false ones and brush them together to blend, always use a color of false lashes that your real ones can blend into!).
It's not very exciting eye makeup, but it's pretty and doesn't drastically change throughout the day! 😂 I don't think I'll ever go back to mascara after using false lashes, they're a bit tricky to apply at the beginning, but after a few days you get the hang of it. I get a lot of compliments when I wear this makeup, even though it doesn't have many steps or products.

Tubing mascaras!!! Mascara always smudges on me, but I recently started using the CLIO Kill Lash Superproof Mascara in 004 Extreme Volume and it practically doesn't smudge. It's not waterproof, though (although they do make a waterproof version), so it's easy to remove.
For brows, the Urban Decay Brow Blade works well for me. I always use powder first, as the instructions say to do, and they stay put. You could also get your brows microbladed, but that's kinda pricey. Or alternatively, tint them, but that's if you like the shape/don't have patchiness and just want to make them darker.

I remember reading a few years back that Kate Winslet would use her mascara and a fine point brush to fill in the gaps in her lashes. Have you heard of this? Seems it would get in your eyes. Hmm. `Robin
I know people use waterproof eyeliner for that purpose and it's very effective
